Pivoting Cradles with Cushioned Straps

Saris Freedom Cuscino Cradle

The Freedom has cradles with ratchet straps that hold your bikes by the downtubes, top tubes, or seat posts. These cradles have a rubber lining that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint. They also have grooves that accommodate brake lines and cables.

Saris Freedom Adjustable Cradles

The cradles pivot and slide up and down the central mast. This allows the rack to grab your bike's tube at the perfect angle. Twist knobs secure the cradles in place.

Adjustable Wheel Trays

Saris Freedom Wheel Holders

The wheel cradles slide to accommodate bikes with different wheelbases. Each cradle has a ratcheting strap so you can secure your bikes' wheels. If you want to carry a fat bike, you can replace the rack's wheel trays with fat bike cradles (SA4419 - sold separately). Or, if you want to carry 2 recumbent bikes, you can replace the horizontal arm with a longer arm (SA4415B - sold separately) that accommodates recumbents with up to 57" wheelbases.

Folding Mast

Saris Freedom 2 Folded

You can fold down the upright mast by pulling a lever at the base. This allows you to easily access your vehicle's rear cargo area, so you can leave the rack in your hitch without it interfering with your cargo hatch or backup camera. The compact design also lets you easily store the rack in your garage when it's not in use.

Easy Installation

Saris Freedom 2 Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin and Adapter Sleeve

It installs with a threaded hitch pin that helps prevent rattling around in your vehicle's hitch receiver. An anti-rattle hitch lock (SA3022 - sold separately) helps deter theft of the rack. You can also thread a cable lock (SA981 - sold separately) through the hole in the base of the rack and through your bike frames to secure your bikes to the rack.

I'm very happy with this rack. We've taken it on several long out-of-state trips (Subaru Outback 2014) and it has worked great. Great investment for our family.

This is a great product -- sturdy, USA made product. It was packaged very well for shipment. Ordering was easy, and the delivery was very fast. Last of all, it was easily assembled and mounted with clear instructions. I added the reflective strips as a safely factor.

We have very expensive road bikes. This rack has lots of secure locking sites and is really sturdy! Bikes do not wobble or bounce around. Great carrier!

Mounted on a 2006 Toyota Rav4 - fits perfectly and is exactly as described. Really easy to put together. Holds the bike securely. Adjusts easily to the right bike size/location for the straps.

  • Best Bike Rack for E-Bikes with Fenders Step Through Frame and 1-1/4 inch Hitch
We have the perfect rack for carrying your e-bikes with fenders and step through frames! You will want the Thule Easy Fold XT part # TH903202. This rack will fit your 1-1/4 inch hitch, has frame clamps designed for your style of frame, is specifically intended for e-bikes, and comes with ramps to make loading/unloading the heavier bikes (which it is rated for) easier. I attached a picture of the rack carrying a bike just like yours for you to check out as well.

  • Will Saris Freedom Bike Rack SA4412B Fit The Electric Bike Model Y With Fenders And Basket?
The Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # SA4412B will work well with your Electric Bike Company Model Y. It has a weight capacity of 60lbs per bike; according to my research your bike weighs about 56lbs, so there will be no issue there. This bike rack secures the bike by the frame and uses a rubber strap that fits just about any diameter frame tubing; there will be no interference with the fenders or basket on your bike. I have attached a photo that shows this...

  • Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for RadCity Step-Thru Electric Commuter Bike
The Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # SA4412B is compatible with bikes up to 60 lbs. Unfortunately your bike is just over that, so unless you can reduce the weight of the bike by removing the battery, I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT 2 Electric Bike Platform Rack # TH903202 which is compatible with bikes up to 65 lbs and will not require any adapter bar. This will fully secure your bike by the frame and allow you to easily load your bike as well....

  • Best Bike Rack for Step-Through Electra Townie Bike with Fenders
I have the perfect bike rack for your Electra Townie and for this I recommend the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4412B. The reason I recommend this bike rack over the Malone rack is because you don't need to use an adapter bar at all. The unique frame clamp system will attach to the lowermost portion of the frame which you can see in the attached photo. According to my research, the Electra Townie weighs around 35 lbs and the Pilot only has a 33 lb per bike weight capacity...

The best/affordable bike rack I have for your Specialized Como 4.0 Bike is the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4412B. The Saris Freedom 2 has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity and the unique frame clamp system is actually designed for bikes with odd frame shapes so it will be a perfect match for you. I have even attached a photo for you of a similar bike and how these unique frame clamps work. The other great feature of the Saris Freedom 2 is that is it super lightweight at only...

  • Recommended Bike Rack For Curt Hitch on 2024 Toyota Crown
Hey Tom, There is a bike rack I highly recommend for your 2024 Toyota Crown and the Curt Trailer Hitch # C77ZV, which is the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SA4412B. What I love about this rack is its unique combination of being easy to handle but also really strong. It weighs a mere 22-1/2 lbs but still has a 60 lb per bike capacity so it'll work even with ebikes. I also really like how it has a shank that rises 8 inches to help ensure it doesn't touch the ground. That rise is...

I looked up several pictures of Hybrid Giant bikes like you have and the ones with lower water bottle locations would interfere with the frame clamps of the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4412B most likely so the Saris platform bike rack I would recommend instead is the SuperClamp EX 2 part # SA4025F which grabs the bikes by the tires instead which would definitely not interfere with the water bottle holder and also would prevent the rack from touching your frame which would protect...

You should place your E-Bike as close to your 2017 Buick Encore as possible when using the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4412B, which means on the inside of the rack. The reason for this is so the rack and your bike remain as stable as possible and does not put added stress on either. The Freedom does not have a 1-bike rack option though the center mast does fold down like in the accompanying photo to help ease the loading process. The better option that I strongly recommend instead...

  • Can Swagman XC Hitch Mount Bike Rack Carry 69 lbs Of Bikes
As long as both of your bikes are at or below 35 lbs the Swagman XC part # S64650 would fit and work well. I know you said they total weigh 69 lbs, which is below the overall capacity, but if one of them was 40 lbs and the other 19 that would be an issue. You made it sound like they are both the same bike though so most likely they are both 34.5 lbs. The Swagman XTC2 part # S64670 that you referenced would be a great option for you. This is one of our best selling racks and it works great on the Toyota Prius like yours. The wheel straps really don't do much as the hook of the rack is what really secures the bikes to it. I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well on a Prius like yours. • Carrying a 40 Pound Bike on a Trailer Hitch Receiver Mounted Bike Rack With a 2012 Mazda 3
The Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670, won't be able to carry a 40 pound bike. The weight maximums of the racks are very much set in stone, as the location of the weight of the bike changes the physics of the bike rack's ride and can cause damage if exceeded. Instead, I recommend the Swagman's Chinook, part # S64683. This rack adds a few features to the rack and an increased capacity to 45 pounds. Specifically over the XTC-2, it adds integrated hitch and bike locks, tilt away and fold up features...

Thanks so much for your order! It looks like you purchased the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7369. With this particular hitch, we unfortunately do not have the measurements available for the distance of the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside face of the rear bumper of a 2017 model Toyota Prius Prime. • Platform Bike Rack for 2 Bikes and a 2012 Toyota RAV4
For your needs the Saris Freedom # SA4412B is going to be the best option. I think you will really like this rack. First, it is very light weight at just 22-1/2 pounds. That makes it easy to install/remove from the trailer hitch. It can fit 1-1/4 inch (Class II) and 2 inch trailer hitches. The first thing we know is that from the center of your hitch pin hole to the edge of your bumper will need a rack with at least an 8-1/2 inch clearance. We have bike racks that will be perfect for your e-bike with fenders, though you are correct that the Kuat NV 2.0 # BA12B will not work with your e-bike that has fenders as it would smash them, like you said. The reason for that is the NV 2.0 is a wheel-mount bike rack, which means it uses hooks that grasp your bikes by the wheels (where the fenders are) instead of the frame. What you will need instead is a frame-mounted bike rack. I strongly recommend the Saris Freedom 2-Bike Platform...
