For your 2015 Lincoln MKZ, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24897. Unlike the Curt model that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle, the installation of this hitch will allow you to trim and reinstall the underbody panel/fascia for accommodation with the hitch receiver and crosstube. On the Curt model, this panel is completely removed and cannot be reinstalled. This Class I hitch will use existing holes in your Lincoln's frame for a no-drill installation....

If you used the adapter that came with your Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64670, the threaded pin will work for use with or without the adapter. There is a specific way to install that adapter, so I wonder if you have it switched because one hole is bigger than the other hole on that part, so reversing it could cause the issue it sounds like you are hitting. I suggest swapping the direction of those holes and trying the pin again. If you want...

  • Installation of Swagman Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Bike Racks
The Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Hitch Racks # S64029 comes with both the flat washer and the lock washer. I recommend putting the split lock washer on first and then the flat washer then insert the pin into the hitch. This will allow the split lock washer to compress flat to keep the bolt tight while protecting your hitch receiver from damage from the washer digging into the powder coat finish. The lock cylinder will connect to the opposite side of the hitch pin...

I do see where you got the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack # S64670 and Threaded Hitch Pin # P5902 from us in the past. That pin is designed to fit most 2" receivers as well but there are some vehicles where the hitch is slightly larger and it will not clip properly. We do have the Locking Hitch Pin # S64029 which has a much larger 4-3/8" span so you know it will fit your receiver. The pin you have only has a 2-7/8" span.

  • Why Is the Inno Tire Hold 2 Not Compatible with a Motorhome?
I have a great solution for you. The reason why the Inno Tire Hold 2 # INH120 will not work with your 2016 Thor Outlaw Motorhome is because the construction of the rack cannot withstand the extra forces/torque that is exerted on the rack when mounted on the back of the vehicle. When your motorhome goes over bumps/makes turns, the forces exerted on the rack increase exponentially in comparison to a shorter vehicle. Unfortunately, there is no adapter that will be able to solve this issue....
