Specs:
Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Reese 5th-Wheel Adapter. So it's gonna be an adapter for your OEM puck system in the back of your truck so that you can put on a fifth wheel. Now we're gonna be putting on a 2022 Ram 2500 today. Now this 5th-Wheel Adapter is gonna be a base for your fifth wheel. So this drops down into the puck system.
That's OEM, it's already in your truck bed, which means you don't have to drill any holes to install a fifth wheel and makes it really easy to put this in when you need it or even take it out when you don't want it in here. Use the pucks in the back of the bed. So it's as easy as picking up the adapter and setting into place. So I'm gonna do that by staying in the middle of it. You grab both ends, bend at the knees, go ahead and lift it up.
Again, bend at the knees, drop into place. You line up the bottom parts right with the pucks and it falls into place. Now make sure it falls flat into place. All around, you might have to adjust if it's moving around just a little bit. You see the back end needs to go down so just make sure you put your hand.
Your apportion where there's the indent in the bed so you don't smash your hand. There you go, that one's down in place. Looks like we've gotta fix this one as well. Just some minor adjustments. Far easier than lifting a whole assembly.
So I need to turn this arm in a little bit and it'll fall into place. There we go, and now I fold all the arms in. They all meet in the middle. On both sides, we're gonna do that and add our clips. With the arms, pulled it in and on top of each other, you can just drop the pins through and push the clip over it. That's gonna keep them in place and do that on both sides. Now, if it didn't go right in the place, it's not perfect every time, you can do some adjustments. So if the first time it's a little rough, you can come here with a screwdriver, pop off this plastic cap. It wasn't installed when we unboxed it so that's something we added on there. So maybe leave 'em off for the first installation. But once that's exposed now you can use the tool that's included to make some adjustments so you can back this off. So it's gonna raise or lower that bolt to make it a little bit easier for it to drop into place. With it dropped and locked into place, you see I can't lift up on it so it's not gonna go anywhere. Another nice thing about the adapter is if you already have a fifth wheel assembly, chances are it will fit in here. I'm gonna give you the measurements from center to center. On the outermost holes, it's gonna be 29 inches. From inside to inside, center to center, it's gonna be 21 inches. So if it matches up with one of those it's gonna drop right into place. The adapter's gonna be compatible with: B&W, Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley Above Bed 5th-Wheel trailer hitches. It also works with most industry standard sliders. The adapter is rated for 25,000 pounds and also it adds two inches of height to your fifth wheel. So if you are using an existing one that's set up already, you might have to adjust that head height just to make sure it adjusts to that extra two inches. And then the assembly itself is matted with black powder coated steel, so we know it's gonna hold up. Overall, I think this adapter's gonna be really helpful especially if you've just got a new truck with this system. You don't have to buy a whole new setup. You just buy this adapter and use the fifth wheel you already had which makes everything easier. You don't have to get used to using a new assembly or anything. You just drop this into place, install it, and you're good to go. It's an easy way to convert the under bed fifth wheel to an over bed fifth wheel. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. Hope this helped..
