Video Transcript for Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit RP58426 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Reese installation kit for fifth wheel trailer hitches on the Ford F-150 trucks. This is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2004-2014 Ford F-150 trucks, all bed sizes. And on a custom fit part I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use our fit guide. Put in your year and model vehicle and it will show you if this will work for your application. This is a semi-custom kit that will help ease the installation of your fifth wheel base rails to your vehicle. This is mounted to your vehicle and your base rails are what will attach to these brackets.

And will require the Reese universal 10 bolt base rails and installation kit for fifth wheel trailer hitches. Part number RP30035. We do sell that part separately on our website. I did happen to pull one of the rails from that site just to show you, you do get two of these. The rails, these are what will sit in your truck bed and your fifth wheel attaches to that. Now these brackets to also work with the four bolt install rails.

Part number RP30095 that we sell separately also. These mounting brackets are specifically designed to fit your Ford F-150. And again, it's all bed sizes. The part will include everything shown here. The four brackets, the eight spacers, the eight grade five carriage bolts with washers and nuts, four pole wires to fish your bolts through your frame holes when installing it, and a nice set of detailed instructions.

These brackets are all a sturdy steel construction and have a nice black powder coat finish to help resist corrosion. But that should do it for the review on the Reese installation kit for fifth wheel trailer hitches on the Ford F-150 trucks.

I have reese bed rails-- that was not a problem 1 1/2 bolts not long enough to go thru rail-bed-and bracket. Was long enough not going thru bracket. So 4 would work, 4 would not. On the frame, no bolts at all for the second hole in the bracket. So 2 worked (if I ground off part of the rectangle washer and ground off part of head of 1 1/2 carriage bolt. they would not fit in hole to pull them up with wire. so had to buy four 2 1/2" carriage bolts for rails and four 6 " bolts for frame to bracket. with four nuts and washers and four lock washers. That was me following the directions not to go all the way thru frame on one of the holes in brackets and drilling hole for other hole.Enough said very disappointed with kit buy. This is first time not to get right product from you to much of cost to turn around and have to spend $xx for extra bolts etc.

This kit is specific fitting for Reese model rails RP30035 or RP30095. You could have Reese rails but possibly a different model than those.

by:

I followed the directions for rail mounting. The holes lined up perfect with these brackets. Install time was about an afternoon. The front bolts are tough to tighten do to their location but is doable. The kit has everything you need and works well.

by:

The installation kit was just what I needed to get started on putting in my 6th wheel hitch. The products were top quality. Thank you!

by:

Everything went well exept I wish I could have just bought the bolt kit without the metal brackets. Thanks for all your help. Doug

  • Recommended Sidewinder for Fabex 520 Pin Box and 5th Wheel Rail Kit for 2010 Ford F-150 with 5.5 Bed
To replace your Fabex 520 pin box on your Nomad 5th wheel you will want the 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret - 16,000 lbs # RP61412. It will work well with your 2010 Ford F-150 with 5.5 foot bed. For your base rails, you can use the Reese Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - Ford F-150 # RP58426 with the 30095N bed rails if you already have that kit, or it can be used with the similar universal rail kit # RP30035. My recommendation...

  • Under-Bed 5th Wheel Installation Hardware Needed to Install 5th Wheel Rails in a 2011 Ford F-150
Yes, you will be able to use the rails from your RP30035 install kit that was in your 2003 Ford F-150 for your 2011 F-150. The bracket kit you will need is the Reese Under-bed Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, # RP58426. This will give you all of the under-bed hardware for installation of the 10 bolt fifth-wheel rails. If you need the hardware to attach the rails to the under-bed hardware, you will need the Replacement Hardware Kit, # RP58430. With your existing rails this would complete the...

  • Replacement Fifth Wheel Hitch Brackets for my Reese In Bed Rails
The Reese Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP58426 is designed to work with Reese base rails on the 2004-2014 Ford F-150 with the 5.5', 6.5' and 8' beds. You will want to ensure that you are using Reese base rails like part # RP30035 and it will fit together well.

  • Converting Reese 16K fifth Wheel Hitch To Slider For 2014 Ford F-150 With 6-1/2 Ft Bed
You can convert the Reese fifth wheel hitch you have to a sliding fifth wheel and still use the standard base rails you have. You will need the Reese Fifth Wheel Slider w/ Rollers for 15K, 16K and 20K Head, part # RP30048 or # RP50024. You will also need an installation kit, part # RP58426 if you have the above bed base rails for the fifth wheel. If you need the base rails as well you can use part # RP30035-426 on yoru F-150.

  • 5th Wheel Installation Kit Brackets Only for a 2010 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed
First, for custom brackets, # RP50081 would be the best choice. The other brackets, # RP58426, are supplements to the universal installation kit so I do not recommend using them. Since your truck has the very short 5-1/2 foot bed you will need to either use a fixed 5th wheel hitch or a slider left in the towing position at all times and a Sidewinder pin box. A regular slider hitch will not be able to travel enough to allow you to make tight turns without hitting the truck cab and trailer...

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounting Location in 2014 Ford F150
According to the installation instructions, the bed rails of the # RP58426 kit would install so that the hitch king pin sits 1-1/2 inches forward of the rear axle centerline, as shown in the provided diagram. Be aware, unless your 5th wheel has a Reese Sidewinder/Revolution pivoting pin box, there's an excellent chance you will not have sufficient clearance between the front of the 5th wheel and the back of the cab during turns. The Sidewinder is pin box specific, if you'd care to reply...

The Pro Series 15k hitch and rails part # PS30128 comes with a set of rails that are compatible with your 2013 Ford F-150 but will require an additional set of brackets. You will also need the bracket kit part # RP58426 to go with the rail kit part # RP30035 that you have already.

Instead, we have specific 5th wheel trailer hitch installation kits that will fit your vehicle. If you have a 5-1/2 foot bed, you will need to use installation kit # RP30035. If you have this bed size and a crew cab, you will need to use a stationary hitch and a sidewinder in order to safely make 90 degree turns. Yes, I check with Reese and the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation kit part # RP58426 that you referenced is confirmed to fit your 2013 Ford F150 4 wheel drive with an extended cab. If you need rails to go with this kit you would want the part # RP30035.

If you are just using the Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035 for your 2013 Ford F-150 then you do not have all of the correct equipment. You will also need the Reese Installation Kit # RP58426. The proper location for your base rails is to measure 29-5/16" from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the rear base rail. You will then want to measure 22 inches from the middle of your rear base rail to the middle of your front base rail. Installation instructions have...

I have included instructions for you to review below. Yes, a Fifth Wheel Hitch can be installed on a 2004-2009 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. You will need short bed bracket kit, part # RP58426, coupled with rails, part # RP58058 and rail bolt kit, part # RP58430. This will provide the base for your setup. • Below Bed Brackets to Mount 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch in a 2013 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2 Foot Bed
I can certainly help get you the right mounting brackets for the 5th wheel rails on your 2013 Ford F-150 6-1/2 foot bed. The issue though is that there are different styles of Reese rails and to get you the right brackets I have to know which version of the rails you have. Reese has 10 bolt rails, # RP58058, that have holes on the outer edges; and there are 4-bolt rails, 30124 that have elongated holes on the tops of the rail ends. The 4-bolt rails are not really used anymore. For custom...
