The items are great. A sturdier box or packaging would definitely help in not loading any items. My two items were inside but does look like the receiver shank came out through opening on side of box

by:

No issues at all. Has been a great drop bar for my weight distribution hitch!

by:

Product is fine. Your packing need A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT!!!
box was busted to hell and back with a 30lbs piece of metal just clanked around in an oversized box with 2 small sheets of packing paper.

by:

Good fast delivery

by:

The quality of the part is good and it works as intended. E-trailer's shipping was very quick. We received the part in 3 days with standard shipping. I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging. This heavy item was secured tightly inside the cardboard box so it couldn't move around and potentially damage the box from the inside while in transit. I wish more online retailers would pay as much attention to packaging product.

Product is performing well

by:

Love the product, wish however that there was another cross hole for the receiver; it protrudes too much and worries me about leverage even with a weight distributing hitch.

Love the product after this past year. Ive seen others state they wish there was another cross hole. That was a concern of mine, however theres not enough room due to a spare on my vehicle, and theres been no problems with the unit and its extension from the vehicle.

by:

After a year of camping, the shank is doing its job!

by:

Exactly what I needed for my trailer. Fast shipping. Another great experience with trailer!

Still working great!

by:

This worked well with my sway bar installation, although it is limited to fifteen hundred pounds tongue weight and I would have preferred 1700 pounds to match the tongue weight capacity of our truck.

by:

Works great with the Reese trunnion bar hitch. Gave me the height needed to level the trailer.

by:

worked well with my 8000lb Toy Hauler. Was able to adjust hitch height to the right level

by:

Good product at a good price. Will be used with a Reese Strait-Line hitch on a 2006 Suburban 2500 pulling an 11,500 lb GVWR travel trailer.

by:

great have no problem pulling my 32ft travel trailer or my car trailer.

by:

by:

Very happy with the towing system and have put over 20k miles with them.

by:

Completed my hitch setup. Just what I needed. Gets lots of use. Good service as always.

by:

good quality and appreciate the recessed design -- as it helps to reduce total weight of the hitch assembly.

by:

Super AAA+

by:

Nice product, unfortunatley not designed to work with the Round Bar Head we purchased.

by:

It is what I needed, have a 1200lb. on my camp trailer

  • Reese Weight Distribution Replacement Mounting Hardware For Hitch Shank
Everything sounds good with your installation. The Reese Dual Cam # RP26002 often makes the weight feel lighter than just the Reese Weight Distribution # RP66020 since the bar is sliding on the cam. As long as your vehicle is still leveling out correctly that is what is important. The bolts used for connecting the hitch to a Shank # RP54970 are made of higher quality as they know there are multiple adjustements made on them to position the hitch at the correct height and pitch. We do offer...

  • Items Needed to Complete The RP66074 Strait-Line Weight Distribution Hitch System
The only items you will need with the Strait-Line Weight Distribution Hitch System are the weight distributing shank, pin and clip and a trailer hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank. Below I have provided links to these items, with current pricing, for the 12,000 pound weight distribution system.

  • Weight Distribution and Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500
At highway speeds, the trailer is going to add more wind resistance and be more susceptible to cross winds. This is probably what is causing the sensation that the trailer is holding the truck back and the swaying you are experiencing. The weight distribution spring bars on your current set up may not be rated high enough for the trailer. You need a system that has a tongue weight capacity range that encompasses 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight when it is loaded and ready...

Thanks for reaching out and providing photos! The head of your Reese Weight Distribution System part 113913 is designed to fit a shank with flush sides where the bolts secure like what we see with part part # RP54970, but the Replacement Hitch Ball Platform # PS63075 installs on shanks that have a groove on the sides like what we see with the part # 63911. If you want that ball mount then we have it kitted together as the Pro Series Adjustable 3-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # 63070 but at...

I am sorry to hear that you are having sway issues pulling your 34.5' camper with your 2020 Ford F-150. Since the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control # C17063 you are using is not ideal for trailers with excessive sway like you are experiencing, adding the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System for Electric Trailer Brakes # 335TSC-1000 would be a great option. The advantage of the Tuson # 335TSC-1000 is it detects sway before it occurs and applies the brakes to...

The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution Systems w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar # RP66084 and # RP66074 referenced in your question are almost identical systems except for a couple of small differences. Both of these systems feature dual-cam sway control with a tongue weight capacity of 600 to 1,200 pounds. The first difference between the two is that the Reese # RP66084 includes an adjustable shank with a maximum rise of 6-1/2 inches and maximum drop of 1-1/4 inches. The Reese # RP66074...

  • Needing a Weight Distribution Hitch That Will Provide for a 3 Inches of More Drop
The hitch shank that you currently have, 63970, has been replaced by Reese Hitch Shank # RP54970. This hitch shank will provide 2 inches of drop using round bars and 1-/14 inch drop using trunnion bar on your weight distribution system. The Curt Hitch Shank, # 17120, will increase the drop on round bars to 6-1/8 inches. If you use the trunnion bars, then the drop will increase to 5-3/4 inches. This shank will give you the 3 inch additional drop you are looking for on your towing rig.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for 8000 lb Enclosed Car Hauler
To choose the correct weight distribution set-up for your application, you'll need to first determine the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer. To that figure, add the weight of any gear stowed in the truck bed behind the rear axle. I've linked to an FAQ article that explains how to do this. These combined figures comprise the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your set-up. The TTW of your trailer should fall as close as possible to the middle of the effective range of...

Your 2018 Jayco Octane 237 does not require the short bar length of 28-5/8 inches the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System with Shank # C17333 you referenced offers. However, it will also not be an issue. I recommend hitch ball # 19286 with this hitch for a 2-5/16 inch ball to match your coupler. Since the height of your hitch is greater you will need shank with roughly a 2" drop. • Replacement Parts for Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System
Based on your photo, it appears you have the dual cam system of the Reese Strait-Line. I researched your trailer to find a GVWR of 5895. Based on this, we can make some calculated assumptions on the tongue weight. The tongue weight of a trailer is typically 10 to 15%, so that would put you at 590 to 885 lbs. That will make the correct system the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # RP66084. For the replacement parts you will want the following: Replacement Head...

  • Best Weight Distribution and Sway Control for 7606 lbs. GVWR Travel Trailer
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow, this figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. Typically tongue weight is 10-15 percent of the total trailer weight, so let's say your trailer is loaded to the max and has 15 percent tongue weight. This would put you right...

One of the great features of the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution hitch # RP66073 is that when you go into a turn, the cams unlock and slide to allow a controlled, full-radius maneuver. This system also allows you to back up freely without disconnecting the bars from the hitch, so you don't have to worry about having any issues when backing up and turning at the same time. This is one of the best weight distribution hitches on the market, so you've made a great choice! Since this...

  • Can Curt Weight Distribution Shank be Used with Reese Weight Distribution System
Some weight distribution shanks are specific to their manufacturer and cannot be used with a system it's not intended for. An example is the Reese # RP54970. To avoid running into a situation that does not fit for a specific application is why we recommend sticking with the same manufacturer if possible. However, the Curt # 17120 that you are looking at is a standard design, and will work just fine with your Reese system.

We have found that Curt shanks will also fit Reese and Pro Series as well for example.

The Reese Strait-Line system should be chosen according to your loaded tongue weight. Ideally you want your actual tongue weight to fall in the middle of the tongue weight range of the weight distribution hitch. Since your dry tongue weight is 1,180 lbs the # RP66084 isn't rated high enough. You will be over the 1,200 lb max once you add propane and batteries. Based on your GVWR and dry weight you more than likely will be able to use the # RP66130. This has a tongue weight range of 1,000-1,500...

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendation for a Chevy Silverado 2500 and Keystone Cougar

You will then choose a system with a tongue weight capacity range that puts that total weight in the middle of the systems range. The biggest issue with a weight distribution hitch like the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-1200, which is likely what you've got on your trailer, is that the hitch head doesn't provide any friction or tension. Having a weight distribution hitch that provides 2 point sway control is going to really only be effective in reducing sway once it's started, which is why you're experiencing the sway even with it attached.
