Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Titan forged pintle hook mounting plate. This unit installs in a 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver and provides the mounting point for mounting a pintle hook. It secures in the hitch with a 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin and clip or hitch lock. Those items are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. The faceplate right here is a three position mount, meaning it offers three positions for your pintle hook: position one, position two, and position three. The unit is made from a durable steel construction and features a black powder coated finish to resist rust and corrosion.
The gross trailer weight capacity for this unit is 18000 pounds. Maximum tongue weight capacity is 2000 pounds. You can use it in the drop position or you can flip it over and use it in the rise position.The shank length on the unit, what we did to get that is we took a measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the mounting plate, and that measures 8 1/2 inches. The mounting plate itself, going edge to edge this direction, measures five inches. And then measuring the overall height, edge to edge this direction, is 7 1/4 inches.
Now, the mount holes, going up and down, these are separated on center by 1 3/4 inches, so from the center of this one to the center of this one is 1 3/4, from this one to this one is 1 3/4, and so on. And then the hole separation side to side, that gives us a measurement of 3 3/8 inches. Now, please note, this uses an I beam style shank, and this will not fit the Ford Super Duty or 2015 Ram HD factory installed trailer hitches.That's gonna do it for today's look at the Titan forged pintle hook mounting plate.

The ball/pintle mounting plate worked very well.
I was surprised that it stuck out past the bumper so far on my 2008 Silverado 2500HD, but it was only about 4-5 inchest past where my ball usually sits with other hitches. I suppose it will work well as strong as it is to take care of anyone who choses to park to close to me in parking lots! :-)
This mounting plate is very heavy duty, and a tight fit on a 2.5" receiver - no rattling.
it is made for 5/8" bolts, not the 1/2" bolts the average 6 ton pintle hitch uses, some washers may be needed for smaller pintle hitches.
E Trailer's customer service on this order was outstanding. I ordered a pintle hitch mount on 9/20. I was then quickly notified that they did not have the specific product in stock, but they offered a comparable product that could ship out immediately. Product showed up quickly as advertised, and within the specification that is required.
I would highly recommend working with them, as their customer service and attentiveness to detail was top notch.

The Reese trailer hitch was the correct one. I have added my bolt-on ball and it is use now. Very happy with the speedy delivery.
I've bought 5 of these so far for all the new model chevy/gmc trucks. I hate using the reducers gm provides with the hitch as they are not as tight of a fit as i would like, plus my guys end up losing them when we remove/reinstall the hitch insert. So for me using the 2.5inch insert is a safety issue. Product is built tough and i'm happy to buy more in the coming years. Shipping was fast and customer service is top notch.

RuggedPerfect fit for my 2011 Silverado 2500HD. The new truck has a heavier duty receiver with the 2 1/2 inch opening. With the 18,000 lb rating of this pintle hook mount, I can safely (and legally) tow a 5 ton trailer (over 12,000 GVW). This is the most rugged and solid mount I've ever seen. I found it quite convenient that the holes have the hexagon shape on the back side. The nuts for the pintle hook fit perfectly, making it easy to install the bolts with just one wrench. Very happy.
Awesome Product still going strong after a year of abuse on a construction Site. This hitch is a beast and never lets me down. I have them on 3 trucks and they all came from etrailer.

A big chunk of iron, no flex with a load. Puts the trailer ball a foot from the truck allowing a 90 degree jacknlfe for loading and turning.
After one year the hitch is performing well, it was very tight to install new, it is easier now that some of the paint has worn. it is a very sturdy hitch, we have bent the plate on welded models but not these!

After purchasing around 3 of these over the years I Just purchased this last one and it finally fits the Ford 2.5 inch hitch looks like they finally slimed it down! I won’t have to grind this one down to fit, very happy!
This is a beast of a receiver/mount. Works perfect. Love the inset sides and we have noticed that there is no more sticking so we can get it out easily which was a total pain with the old square ones. Recommend this for northern states where there is salt put on the roads in the winter.

Did not fit had to grind paint and some metal on all 4 corners to slide into receiver.

It is a little longer than I thought it would be! heavy duty, tight fit, does not rattle going over bumps

the hitch is still as solid as the day it was installed, the paint is holding up well, still a tight fit, does not rattle, I have purchased several items from Etrailer this year, shipping is fast and customer service is excellent.

Very well built, very heavy duty. Website says it won’t fit Ford superdutys but I have a 2011 f350 and it fit just fine. Overall very good product!
