Video Transcript for Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit - Universal - RP30035 Review

Today we'll be reviewing part number RP30035. This is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. It is going to be a 10 bolt design. The base rails are going to provide necessary attachment points for your 5th wheel trailer hitch. The universal brackets are designed so that they fit most applications, and then the adapter brackets can be used to ease installation on certain vehicles. The kit's going to include both rails, four brackets, two larger ones with more mounting options, and then the two smaller ones, and it's going to include all the hardware that you need, all the instructions, and the fish wire that you just thread onto the end of the bolt, and you can bring it through the appropriate hole as needed. It makes it a little bit easier to get the bolts in the right place. Some compatible hitches are going to be Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky.

This does work with RBW Li'l Rocker Hitch Fifth Wheel Hitch. It will not fit the Reese Elite Series Signature Series or Valley UBS hitches. It's made from a nice solid steel construction with a nice black powder coated finish on it, so it is going to stand up well against rust and corrosion. That's going to do it for today's review of part number RP30035. This is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. .

  • B&W 5th Wheel Base Rail Custom Brackets Only for 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500
The B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWRVK2500 can be split up between the brackets and the rails. The B&W Custom Mounting Brackets for Patriot 5th Wheel Above Bed Base Rails # BWRVR2500 are available separately from the base rails # BWRVR3210. You will want to use only custom brackets and rails from the same manufacturer to confirm fit, so if you don't know the manufacturer, then I recommend purchasing the complete kit to ensure they will fit...

  • Comparing the B&W Patriot 16K, Curt A16, and Reese 16K 5th Wheel Hitches
The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3200, Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16120, and Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047 all have fully articulating hitch heads so there won't be much of a difference in hitching/unhitching at an angle. I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16120 over the others for a few different reasons. The first of which is that the A16 has 1" thick, dual interlocking jaws which will do a phenomenal job of reducing...

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit, Slider Hitch and Gooseneck Adapter for 1991 Ford F-350 Short Bed
The two adapters you mentioned fit fifth wheel rail kits and give you a gooseneck hitch ball. There would be no way to use one of the plate adapters and a fifth wheel slider at the same times. But if you can email me back with more info on what you are planning on towing I can see what you'd need. If I am understanding you correctly you want a set of fifth wheel rails so that you can tow a fifth wheel trailer and then an adapter to allow you to tow a gooseneck hitch?

  • Can Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Hitch Be Installed in Truck Bed At Same Time
There is not a bracket kit that would allow both a fifth wheel and a gooseneck hitch to be installed together, however there are solutions that might allow you to swap back and forth, depending on what you currently have installed. If you have nothing installed in your truck bed at this time, you can use the # RP30035 kit you mentioned to install 5th wheel rails. Install the 5th wheel into the rails when needed, and when you need to tow a gooseneck, remove the fifth wheel and install an...

  • Recommended Fifth-Wheel Hitch to Pair With Reese Revolution King Pin Hitch on 2015 Silverado 2500
There are a number of very good fifth-wheel hitches available for you to choose from, but their fit depends on the truck you have. In that regard, you will want to stay away from short-bed trucks, which you can classify as anything with a bed that is under 8 feet. The correct hitch is going to also depend on if you purchase a truck with a factory fifth-wheel prep package. Sliding hitches should not be used with the Revolution, and there are a few other fifth wheel hitches that are not...

The Reese universal fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30035 is what you are wanting. You can use the B and W Patriot hitch part # BWRVK3200 in the bed of your 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed since this hitch is designed to fit industry standard rails which we do have fit options from other brands for your truck. The Reese rail kit part # RP30035 fits your truck and the Patriot so this would work great. You can't use the Companion hitches with the Turning Point pin boxes so that would not be the route to go. The E16 hitch will work just fine for you. It's a sliding hitch which will help with turning clearance since you have a short bed truck. For the hitch use # 16516. Then you need a bracket install kit with base rails. A universal it that does fit your truck is # RP30035. This fits just fine with the Curt hitch. You may also want...
