  • Dual Hitch Adapter For Flat Towing And Carrying A Bike Rack
Hello Steve. I do have a good solution for you, but I cannot recommend using the Malone Adapter # MPG544. Since it is rated for towing only 4,000 lbs, your 8,000 lb towed vehicle would be double the max towing capacity. You are right about there being very little tongue weight when flat towing, but I still cannot recommend using it. Instead, I suggest you use the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6. This is a dual hitch adapter that is essentially designed specifically for...

  • How to Carry Two Bikes While Flat Towing With Motorhome
We definitely have a solution for you that will allow you to carry your two bikes though not the exact adapter you are asking about that already has a ball mount. The first option is to use a dual hitch adapter which does have the needed clearance between the top and bottom receivers, though you do need to ensure you get the one that has the correct rise or drop. For that you can use the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6, 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8 or 10" Drop/Rise...

  • Dual Hitch Receiver Compatible with Towing a Car Dolly
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8 has a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs but the tongue weight is limited to 400 lbs. As long as the tongue weight of your loaded tow dolly and whatever accessory you put in the top receiver is under the 400 lbs then you'll be just fine.

  • Can I Carry a Bike Rack On My RV While Flat Towing a Vehicle Behind The Motorhome?
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 will allow you to carry a bike rack and flat tow your 2018 Ford Explorer behind your 2013 Georgetown RV motorhome. You will be able to insert your tow bar in the lower receiver and a Bike Rack # HLY64FR in the upper receiver. The adapter is rated for up to 400lbs of tongue weight but it will reduce your receiver capacity by 50%. So if you have a receiver rated for 500lbs of tongue weight it will be only 250lbs. The adapter weighing 27lbs...

  • Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter & Ebike Rack For Flat Towing
There are dual hitch adapters you can use when flat towing so you can carry your ebikes, but none have an offset. The correct adapter is going to depend on the rise or drop you need: - 2-1/4" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2 - 2" or 6" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 - 2" or 8" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 - 2" or 10" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-10 As for a bike rack...

Yes, you can use a dual hitch adapter for flat towing and carrying a bike rack at the same time. You just need the one with the correct rise or drop, and you can choose from the following: - 2" or 4" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 - 2" or 6" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 - 2" or 8" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 - 2" or 10" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-10 Then to...

Yes, you can replace the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter # RM-048-8 that you currently have with a Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 to be able to carry the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR above your tow bars. Both the adapters have the same 8" drop that you are using for the tow bars. For ease of use you should load your bike rack first so that you are not getting tripped up by the tow bars and definitely do not use the tow bars as a platform to stand on...

Yes, this is exactly what the MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches, # MT70070 is intended for. However, keep in mind that per manufacturer this reduces your hitch rating by 50%. The extender has a weight rating of 400 lbs. tongue weight and gross trailer weight rating of 4,000 lbs. so please compare this to the vehicle you are flat towing. • How Much Does the Roadmaster RM-077-8 and RM-048-8 Weigh?
As the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-8 has a solid shank for added capacity, it does weight right at 28 pounds. I had the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter # RM-048-8 measured as well. From center of one pin hole to the center of the other is actually 10 1/2 inches, which I am having added to the product page. This is also a little lighter than the # RM-077-8 at 23 pounds. It should also be noted, however, that this is not designed to be used for towing a trailer. Both of these are...

While there isn't an adjustable option, there are dual hitch adapters for flat towing that allow you to tow your vehicle and carry a bike rack at the same time. The right one just depends on the amount of rise or drop you need. Also keep in mind the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent, and that the rise or drop will depend on the way the adapter is turned. - 2" or 4" of Rise/Drop: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 - 2" or...

  • Dual Receiver Recommendation for Towing Car and Using Bike Rack Simultaneously
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8 does have the 2 inch receiver like a Class III hitch on both openings but the Roadmaster adapters have a rounded shape to the inside of them to help be a tighter fit on accessories and the shank of your Swagman bike rack, # S64663, is extremely square and won't fit into Roadmaster adapters. • Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter for Newmar Baystar Towing 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Thank you for providing those helpful measurements. With the 8" difference I would go ahead and choose the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 2 " or 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8 over the # RM-077-6. Loading it won't make much of a difference on the height. Also, the flat towed vehicle adds no tongue weight so really there should be no sag at all. Even if you did somehow drop 2" after loading your motorhome you would still be in the safe zone, which is +/- 3" from level. If you want to...

  • Which Dual Hitch Adapter Has the Highest Tongue Weight Capacity
The dual hitch adapter we carry with the highest tongue weight capacity is the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter part # RM-077-6 for 6" rise or part # RM-077-8 for 8" rise. They both have a 400 lb tongue weight capacity. Please note that this adapter is designed for flat towing only. • Which Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter For Carrying Bike Rack While Flat Towing
Since the receiver height and the base plate height of the vehicle is the same, you won't need to worry about keeping the tow bar level. If your bike rack has an angled shank with a couple inches of rise to it, you could use the # RM-077-6. If the bike rack has a straight shank, you'll want a dual-hitch adapter with a larger rise such as # RM-077-8 for an 8-inch or # RM-077-10 for a 10-inch rise to move the bike rack up and out of the way. • Dual Hitch Adapter for Use with Thule T2 Bike Rack and Blue Ox Tow Bar
I would use a dual hitch adapter like the Roadmaster part # RM-077-8 even if your current setup is mostly level without a high low adapter. I'd run the adapter in the rise position so that the bike is 8 inches above the tow bar so that you'd have plenty of clearance between the rack and tow bar to prevent any clearance issues. If you are already using a high low adapter let me know how much rise/drop it has so I can pick out a dual hitch adapter with the same amount of rise/drop.
