Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

RockyMounts MonoRail 3 Bike Rack Adjustable Arms

The MonoRail has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying carbon bikes or bikes with a custom paint job. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook.

Pivoting Rear Wheel Cradles with Ratcheting Wheel Straps

RockyMounts MonoRail 3 Bike Rack Wheel Straps

The rear wheel cradles accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. They pivot front to back, adjusting automatically to each bike's wheelbase - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheels in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. The straps also include extenders for use with fat bikes.

Adjustable Bike Trays

RockyMounts MonoRail Adjustable Bike Trays

The front and back trays adjust 3" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just remove the bolts where the tray attaches to the bottom of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then reinstall the bolts. This will prevent your bikes' handlebars from becoming tangled, and it eliminates bike-to-bike contact.

Front-Mounted Release Lever for Easy Tilting

RockyMounts MonoRail 3 Bike Rack Tilt

The front-mounted release lever allows you to easily tilt the MonoRail. The rack tilts down - with or without bikes loaded - so you can access your vehicle's rear cargo area. Because the tilt-release lever is located at the front of the rack, you don't have to worry about crawling through bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to pull it. When you raise the rack back up, you'll hear a click to indicate it's secure.

RockyMounts MonoRail 3 Bike Rack Folds Up

When the rack is unloaded you can pull the lever to fold it up for storage. This means you don't have to remove it to park in small lots at the trail head or in cramped parking garages.

Easy Installation

RockyMounts MonoRail Hitch Mount Bike Rack

It installs with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin. Simply slide the shank into your 2" hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down with the included tool. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

Complete Security

RockyMount MonoRail Built-In Cable Lock

Included locks secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. The integrated cable lock threads around your bikes' frames and inserts into the lock that slides along the cable.

RockyMounts MonoRail Hitch Lock

The hitch lock simply snaps onto the hitch pin and locks in place. The cable and hitch lock are keyed alike, so you'll only need 1 key for both locks.

  • Comparing The RockyMounts HighNoon FC And MonoRail Bike Racks
The RockyMounts HighNoon FC # RKY74MR and MonoRail # RKY10004-10005 are very similar, but do have a few differences. The HighNoon has a 45lb per bike capacity when hauling three bikes or 60lb per bike capacity when hauling only two bikes. The MonoRail only has a 45lb per bike capacity regardless of how many bikes you use. Both options can can handle up to a 5" wide tire but the HighNoon has a slightly larger maximum wheelbase at 52", versus the MonoRail's 50" maximum. The HighNoon also...

  • What Is Needed To Be Able To Carry 2 or 3 Bikes With a Receiver Hitch For a 2021 HRV?
Yes, you can use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11416 on your 2021 Honda HR-V LX, to be able to carry 2 bikes. This receiver will fit all trim levels and both the FWD and AWD drive types. As you are going to be carrying a bike rack an important measurement is the hitch pin center to bumper measurement which we find to be 5" when installed in our shop. Curt does require the use of their Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap # 18050 when using any hitch mounted carrying accessory. You must...

  • Is The Kuat Transfer 3 Bike Rack Or RockyMounts MonoRail 3 Bike Rack a Better Option?
I have a couple reasons Anthony, that I feel like makes the Kuat Transfer # KU24FR much nicer to use than the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack # RKY10004-10005. With as deep as the 3 bike racks are I like on the Kuat you do not have the full length trays which allows you to get up to where the bike connects. This makes putting on and taking the bikes off so much easier especially when you have to load them all by yourself. And in my experience working with all the different companies Kuat's...

  • Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack for 2020 Honda Odyssey
For a hitch for your 2020 Honda Odyssey I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76170. This hitch has a concealed cross tube so it will have a clean look once installed on your van. This also means you will have more clearance, which is important since the van already sits pretty low. For the bike rack, a 2-3 bike conversion is going to be as good as it gets. The RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10004-10005 is a good option that already comes with the 3rd bike add-on. It...

It has a 2" receiver with a 525 lbs tongue weight capacity. I have linked an installation video below along with a couple of pictures so you can see what this hitch looks like installed. • Can I Transport 1 49-Pound Bike on the Kuat Transfer V2?
I have a solution for you. For bike racks that have a maximum per-bike weight capacity, each individual bike cannot exceed that single weight capacity on the rack. Loading a 49-pound bike on the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # KU24FR would be over that limit. With that being said, a great solution is the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 2" Hitches # RKY10004-10005. the Monorail comes with a 60-pound maximum weight capacity when the add-on...

  • 4-Bike Platform Bike Rack that Can Carry E-Bike and Work Behind RV
At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use. So, the RockyMounts rack you referenced was not rated for the...

  • Is RockyMounts MonoRail 3-Bike Rack For 2 Inch Hitch Good Choice For Tesla Model 3 & Motorhome
While the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 2" Hitches # RKY10004-10005 is a superb choice for a Tesla Model 3, I verified that it is not rated for use behind an RV, including motorhomes (it had been at one time but RockyMounts has recently changed this). There isn't a 3-bike rack similar to the MonoRail that can be used behind a motorhome, the only other option for a 3-bike rack is a hanging rack, the Swagman Trailhead 3 Bike Rack # S63365. These crossbars have a maximum load capacity of up to 220-lbs. For a bike rack, I recommend using the Thule ProRide XT Roof Bike Rack # TH598004. To get the most out of your trailer hitch you will want a Class III hitch with a 2 inch hitch receiver like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75876 which is confirmed to fit your 2018 Subaru Forester. This specific trailer hitch does not have a 2 bike restriction like a Class I trailer hitch would have and the 2 inch receiver will allow you to carry a wider variety of accessories than a 1-1/4 inch receiver would. • Recommendation For Hitch 3 Bike Rack For a 2011 Toyota RAV4 With Rear Spare Tire
For a solid hitch mounted bike carrier, I recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Platform Rack, Item # KU24FR. To see if it will clear the rear spare tire of your 2011 Toyota RAV4, you will need to take some measurements. On the Transfer there is 6 inches between the hitch pin hole and the closest part of the rack. For some other 3 bike options that have more clearance for your spare tire, I recommend looking at the RockyMounts SplitRail, Item # RKY11404-3, and the MonoRail, Item # RKY10004-10005....

The RockyMounts MonoRail part # RKY10004-10005 would be a perfect solution. It can carry all three of your bike frame styles, tilts, and is a platform like you'd need. This is a wheel mount style rack too which means it will only touch the bikes at the tires to protect the finish.

The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # KU24FR and RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack # RKY10004-10005 are going to give you a similar view, but the Transfer V2 has a slightly more open design between the rails/hooks so it'll likely be the better option. Hey Bridgett, Good question because bike racks like your RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10004-10005 are not cheap, and keeping them stored safely helps protect that investment. The best thing to do is use a wall-mounted hitch in the garage, the Curt Wall Mount for 2" Hitch Accessories # C97DR. This comes with the needed bolts to attach to a stud in the wall and then you just put the rack in hitch, fold it up, and you're set until you're ready to use it again.
