Brad Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the vehicle-specific wiring harness, that will work in conjunction with the Tow-Pro Elite electric trailer brake controller. These harnesses are going to be great to work with your Tow-Pro Elite in a variety of different trucks and SUVs. Now, make sure that you get your vehicle-specific harness. You're going to want to use our fit guide on "etrailer.com", and that's going to make sure that you get the right harness, and that way your install goes nice and easy.
Included in the REDARC kit, you will find this plugin adapter, and this is going to have these spliced ends, and you're gonna have to tie into your brake signal, your brake output, your power output and your ground. Now, if you are pretty handy with electrical, that's awesome. That's great. You can use this. But I'm the kind of person, plug and play in OEM kind of setup or really nice factory one like this.
This is the vehicle-specific harness. So this ties in directly to our factory tow system, and clips right in, it's got this nice braided sheathing on it, to kind of protect the wires, and then it plugs directly into our module here. So, to save yourself a little bit of headache and time, and make the install go that much smoother, and not have to worry about loose connections, I highly recommend getting the vehicle-specific harness. So this end of the plug is specific to your vehicle. As you can tell, it looks like the factory plug, it fits in perfect, has the locking mechanism, so you aren't gonna have to worry about loose connections happening with your plug, and it's going to make install a lot easier.
And that was a look at the vehicle-specific harness for the Tow-Pro Elite electric trailer brake controller..

Install your Redarc Tow-Pro electronic brake controller (sold separately) quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Plug one end of the adapter into your Tow-Pro brake controller and plug the other end in beneath your vehicle's dash.Very low profile mount on the dash. Controller sensitivity very good for proportional braking and adjusting trailer response.
Worked great and was the easiest install ever. Cord had plenty of length to move around and find the best location for the TowPro controller.
Makes installation easy - on my 99 Ford Expedition I needed to add breakers to my fuse block
Fits 1997 Ford F250 prewired controller wiring under dash
Installation as easy as it gets.
Made installation a snap! No splicing just plug and play
Great looking product. Just installed it, will see how it preforms next week. I wanted a brake controller that I could make look like factory OEM. This was it. The reverse parking assist does not work on my truck, so I repurposed that spot in the dash for the brake controller.
This is the only brake controller you should buy. It's not ugly, it works well, and on many cars you can get a plug and play wiring harness. I installed one in my 2020 Explorer in about 30 minutes.
Made install a breeze!
The product worked as it was described.
It is a very good Trailer Brake Controller.
The 4 various functions / modes make the controller very versatile.
Would recommend this controller for anyone pulling a trailer.
Installed onto a 2004 F-350 Super Duty, the factory connection made this a very simple install.
I spent more time trying to decide where I wanted the on dash controller.
So far I like the low profile look of the controller, now I just need to get my trailer to really test it out.
if you are installing an aftermarket trailer brake controller in a late Ford truck, this harness is a must!
Install was easy and works as expected. Purchased the connector adaptor so I didn’t have to cut any wires.
Only thing I found an issue is when you push in the button to engage the brakes sometimes it doesn’t push in all the way. It might have been how I installed it in the car panel but not a huge problem.
perfect for my vehicle. 5 minute install
it was very easy to install very happy with it
Was easy to install and seems to work g reat.
Viewing the pictures I purchased this for a 99 f150. Not on the list of vehicles it fits. It is a plug and play. No issues at all. Hope it helps others trying to find the correct harness.
Controller was very easy to install. Remote adjuster was just as easy with a minimum of tools and skill. Special thanks to Peyton for helping me out with the re-order.
Works great! Definitely recommend to anyone that wants something less invasive.
A must for the brake controller
Worked great on my 2000 F-250. Did had a hard time to get the plug in to the factory plug but once it was in it was good!
The adapter was perfect for my 2002 F350 Superduty to allow me to utilize the factory trailer controller wiring.
The harness made the installation very easy and professional.
Makes for a clean install of the Redarc controller.
