Video Transcript for Review of Redarc Battery Charger - Alpha 25A In Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger Solar Control - RED68NR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this REDARC Alpha 25 amp In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger with Solar Control. Now, this is going to work with your 12-volt or 24-volt vehicle systems with standard or smart alternators, and this Alpha series is REDARC's slimmest battery charger yet, and this is gonna be a great option to consider, especially if you're overlanding or boondocking. This is going to be compatible with AGM, gel, calcium, standard lead acid, heated lithium, and standard lithium batteries, and this does feature smart-charging to keep your battery's juice. This is gonna handle multiple 25 amp power sources, and it's gonna prioritize solar to charge your secondary battery while topping off your standard with excess energy.

But it's also gonna be gentle on your alternator, even the smart ones, and if for some reason your batteries do die, you can just open up your app, which I'll talk about in the next minute or so, and press a button, give it about 15 minutes, and you'll have enough charge to safely start your vehicle and get back on your journey. This is also gonna monitor the temperature of your auxiliary battery, adjust its charging rate to protect against overheating, and then you probably saw we do have fins here that are going to help disperse the heat it generates while it continues to work very hard for you. Now, speaking about the app, this will connect to the RedVision app via Bluetooth to monitor charging and customize settings like input limits. On your screen, I'm showing you an image there with that app on my phone there and just to kind of give you an idea of what that app is gonna look like, what to expect, and it will update automatically through your cell service or Wifi, so that's gonna be a free app download in your smartphone app store. And this is gonna be really an easy and simplified installation.

You just forget the hassle of tricky installs. This is going to use straightforward screw connections. We have the hardware here, some of it had a screw there that tipped over it looks like, but straightforward screw connections and user-friendly push-button interface, and be sure to check out the accessories that we recommend section of this product page for vehicle-specific mounting bracket recommendations for your battery charger and also for wiring that you're gonna need for installation. That's gonna depend on where you intend to mount this charger in your vehicle. We also have across engine bay wiring, middle wiring kit, and rear install wiring kit to help simplify the installation.

All of that, again, will be found in the accessories that we recommend section on this product page. Now, let me go back for another closeup real quick and just to give you some measurements so you have a good idea of the size. Looking at the overall height, we're looking at about 1-3/4 inches tall, and then looking at the overall, we'll call it length, about 6-1/2 inches, you can see that there, 6-1/2 inches long, and then the overall width right about 5-3/4 inches wide. And it does include everything that you see here on my table before me, and I think that's going to wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.

Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
