Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Pacer Performance Hi-Five Truck Cab Light Kit. These are going to be the teardrop style, which is kind of the old school style for your cab lights. Of course, the idea with this is that we're going to just get add to the look of our vehicle, give us that big rig look and also help to make our ride a little bit more visible for others out on the road, especially nice whenever we're going through any kind of inclement weather, maybe going through some foggy mountains, going through a snow storm, rain, whatever the case might be. It helps other drivers to see us as we're coming down the road, so it makes us a little easier to spot. Now, it comes with everything you see laid out here on the table.
We'll get our five lights, the quick splice connectors to make our connections between the lights and the rest of the wiring. These wires are going to help us to fit up the sockets for the housings there. I have a bulk wire and then also a fuse and fuse holder wire. The bulbs for our lights is going to be incandescent bulbs, and then we'll also get a switch so we can run our lights independently of our wiring system on our vehicle, the hardware to Mount the lights, the hardware, to mount the lenses to the lights and then the hardware to mount our switch. Also, we'll get these little rubber washers that are going to go under the head of the screws that go into our lights, so we don't have to worry about water getting in and causing any damage.
Pretty much a complete kit. The one thing that I might add would be just some silicone sealant for the attachments into the vehicle. I just would want to really make sure that there's no water getting in anywhere. That's more for the warm and fuzzy. It's just to kind of give you that peace of mind. It does come with this thick grommet that should do a pretty good job of sealing out any water, especially if you make sure that it gets a nice tight grip into the metal.
As long as you got it tightened down in there pretty good, you shouldn't have any issues, but just for peace of mind, silicone sealant is your friend. We do have some available here at etrailer.com if you want to pick it up.The way that this is going to work, basically, we'll have our wiring, so I'm going to show you guys how to do this. It's pretty straightforward. It just looks a little funky, but we've got these wires, the spring and the little disc to keep everything in place. You're going to put that through the socket here on your light.
Just push the wire through and then pull it all the way down. Get that spring seated in place in the little disk. Then the end of this wire is going to be the contact for our bulb. This kit is also available with LED bulbs. If you'd rather have those, I would suggest picking that kit up. It's also available here at etrailer.com. That part number is PP20-206. Exact same kit. Everything is exactly the same. It just has the addition of LED bulbs to replace these guys out. The advantage of course with the LEDs is that they're going to be brighter and longer lasting since they're not going to burn out as quickly as the incandescent bulbs, but some people like the look of the incandescent bulbs a little bit better. Personally, I don't really see that much difference, but to each their own.To the red wire, I'm connecting my power and then ground goes to the white wire. Turn this guy on, you can see it illuminate there. To be able to have that look up on our truck, I'll turn off the lights in the studio to get a better idea of how bright that is. Again, it's not going to be lighting up the night. It's just helping to give that a little bit more visibility for the top of your truck. As far as the size of each of these light assemblies, to give you some measurements here, we'll go to the bottom or the base of the light. Front to back, it's about five and five eighths inches long by about two and three eighths inches wide and about one and seven eights, maybe two inches tall. This is a universal fit so you can put it on just about any surface out there. With that fit grommet, it allows it to conform to different roof surfaces, whether it's flat or curved. It does meet SAE specifications. The bulb types this comes with is going to be a number 67 and it also has a 60-day limited warranty. That's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Pacer Performance Hi-Five Truck Cab Light Kit. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right kit for you. Again, you can find that LED kit that's the exact same as this guy right here at etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
