inverter

This 12V inverter, with built-in transfer switch, changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using pure sine wave technology, it creates clean power with low distortion, making it safe, efficient, and perfect for sensitive electronics like computers. The inverter can generate 2,000 starting watts and 1,000 running watts which is a great fit for appliances and electronics. Additionally, with the integrated transfer switch, it will automatically change from inverter to shore power when available.

Functions and Features

To connect your AC loads, the inverter includes hardwired input and output terminals. It also has positive and negative DC terminals that connect to your batteries. Lastly, there is a port for the included fixed-mount remote. The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overloading which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. The built-in cooling fan also removes excess heat from the unit. The fan speed is proportional to the internal temperature on the converter, so when the power demand is low, the fan will operate quietly. For additional safety, installing a 200-amp fuse (sold separately) between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges.

Built-In Transfer Switch Automatically Switches to Shore Power

The integrated transfer switch selects the primary source of 120V AC current. This switch has been pre-wired to automatically change from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. It includes a 20-amp leg rated at 135V. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.

Fixed-Mount Remote Provides Easy Monitoring and Control

inverter remote

The fixed-mount remote lets you monitor and control the inverter from inside your RV. It includes a digital display that shows voltage, output power, error codes, and a low battery indicator. It also has a power button to turn the inverter on and off.

How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed close to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment.

The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank.

inverter terminals

There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter. If your RV's distribution panel only has one leg, a subpanel will be needed for installation. You will also need a 100-amp circuit breaker between the inverter and battery positive post. Two 20-amp circuit breakers will be needed to channel AC power from the main panel into the inverter and then out into the subpanel.

Was sent as a used unit with minor scratches. When it arrived it was missing an A/c circuit block that had been removed. Actually was cut out of the circuit board.

Oh wow, that is not good at all! Let me get a return processed for you. Do you have pictures of the scratches and the unit where the a/c circuit block was removed?

by:

The inverter works great, easy install, but it was shipped poorly and cracked some minor plastic in the process. etrailer could have been more mindful about shipping.

by:

Purchased this inverter for sole reason to run my new RV 120v a/c refrigerator. I recommend the remote panel, easy off/on as well battery voltage indicator. The existing circuit I used for refrigerator also was for a few receptacles, handy to have for cellular WiFi router while under way. Has been a year now, no regrets, I like it.

Joanne K. Was great answered all questions and got on order. I received it today and installed it. Worked great and a smaller footprint. Great job.

by:

Looking into several inverters ,, reviews and comments i selected these easy to install ,, i like the Transfer switch installed on the dash of the vehicle, they are quite and can run a Spartan model 300 with ease nice Product

by:

Was easy to install and it's SO easy to use! very pleased

by:

Works fine

by:

Thank you ertrailer for a web site that is easy to navigate and find the products that best fir my needs. I found that the inverter was well documented and easy to install in place of my old inverter. It is quiet and has an informative status screen. The distribution panel and charger was easy to install but I wish there was more documentation to go along with it and assist in understanding how it operates. I submitted a question regarding its operation to support and received a comprehensive reply. i am very pleased with the products and the etrailer support.

by:

I have had this for a year and I am a full-time RVer. So far this unit has met or exceeded my expectations.

by:

I replaced an older Xantrex modified sine wave inverter with this one as my new TVs would not work with the Xantrex. Fairly easy install and reused the telephone cable from the Xantrex remote. I did have to re-termninate one end of the cable to emulate the supplied roll over cable. I did this to avoid re-routing cables. Bottomline, my TVs and all electric fridge work great now.

by:

Seems like a very solid reliable unit. I replaced 300W unit with this 1000W and added an outlet with 2 USB chargers so I could charge our laptop and phones when not on shore power or generator power. The remote is also a nice feature with useful information at your fingertips. Installation of the inverter and the remote were straight forward well illustrated with measurements for the remote.

by:

Always excellent Ordering here ,, Prices are Great shipping is awesome the staff seems Knowledgeable Good experience

by:

Has worked well when used..wish I'd bought the 2000 watt. But no problem so far.

I am in the process of installing the unit. I did set the unit up for testing and it worked fine. The unit does have a high no load consumption of 17 watts with inverter on and 5 watts when passing through ac on the transfer switch.

I have gotten in contact with the manufacturer and they have confirmed that those numbers are correct when the inverter is not in use. This unit should be having power running through it at all times when connected. If you do not want any power running through it, you will have to disconnect it when its not in use.

We utilized the Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and lithium Battery Charger as part of our lead acid to Lithium upgrade for our Aliner RV. We had several manufacturers to choose from but are very pleased with our decision to go with this product. It’s performance remains steadfast after the first year in service, its quiet, efficient, reliable and perhaps best of all MADE IN AMERICA! The multi stage smart charging g work flawlessly with our Lithium battery system. 100% recommendations from this satisfied us timer!

I’m not able to give a good review as the product arrived damaged. However the box was not damaged and the product was well wrapped in bubble wrap. But further investigation I found the fuse strip with several of the holders bent and will not accept a fuse. It appears this damage was done at the factory as this is deep inside the converter.

I have a mobile tech coming this afternoon to install and hope he may be able to fix. I would like your advise if I should have him try to install this unit considering the damage. If not I would need a replacement ASAP as I’m leaving this Friday for a 7 night trip and will need by Wednesday for a Thursday installation if we cannot rectify the terminal situation. I’m looking forward to installing the latest technology as I have an 05, 27 ft Holiday Rambler Alumascape. My unit is completely dead no power except 110.

Please review the pic's and let me know your immediate recommendation.

It works great. Exactly what I needed. 1969 Airstream

It is functioning well and providing the distribution of 12 volt to lights and usb as detailed. It took me a while to install it, as I had many other things to finish in my "bare bones"van, before I got around to installing it. I haven't had an opportunity to test the AC input as yet, but I am confident it will function well in that capacity too. I appreciate you staff's rapid reply, when I had a technical question. Thank you.

  • What Pure Sine Wave Inverter Is Needed
To calculate power consumption simply multiply wattage by the number of hours it is being used. Remember to consider type of current, AC or DC. The number of watts is equal to amps multiplied by volts. Your battery bank is rated in Amp Hours, AH. If you have a lithium chemistry battery you can use almost the entire charge before voltage drops below a usable range. If you have a battery bank that is lead acid chemistry, including those labeled as AGM or Gel, you can use at best half of...

  • How To Install The Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter With Transfer Switch
Inverters like the Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter w/ Transfer Switch # PD94FR require you to have two power legs in your circuit breaker panel. The inverter acts as a pass through when you're hooked up to shore or generator power and will power the second leg of your panel with DC power from your house battery when not hooked up. If your panel doesn't have two legs then you'll need to purchase an AC sub-panel from your local hardware store to gain the second leg. I recommend...
