The Malone AirFlow2 roof rack lets you carry gear and accessories on the roof of your vehicle with raised, factory side rails. This complete roof rack system includes 2 aluminum, aerodynamic crossbars and 4 towers. The full-length crossbars extend past the towers to give you more mounting space for carriers, and the towers have built-in locks to protect the rack from theft. The rack clamps onto your raised side rails and tightens down with the included tool, so it's easy to remove and install.
Aerodynamic Shape
The AirFlow2's Aerodynamic shape helps control air flow over and under the bar to significantly decrease wind noise and vibration even at highway speeds. This decreases the need to add a fairing to your roof rack. The aero-style bar also reduces drag and helps maintain fuel efficiency.
Lightweight, Aluminum Crossbars
The black crossbars are made of aluminum, which makes them strong, lightweight, and resistant to corrosion. The bars also have plastic endcaps to protect the interiors from the elements and to give your roof rack a finished look.
Durable Towers with Built-In Security
The towers are made of molded nylon that won't fade or wear down when exposed to the elements. Each tower includes a nylon cover with a built-in lock to deter would-be thieves from removing the rack from your roof. The covers also protect the towers' interior and hardware from the elements.
Easy Installation with Rubber-Coated Steel Clamps
The towers attach to your vehicle's raised, factory side rails with rubber-coated steel clamps. The rubber coating provides a superior grip on your side rails and protects them from damage during installation and use.
To tighten, simply turn the bolt inside the tower assembly with the included installation tool until the clamps are snug. Once assembled, the towers and crossbars stay together as one unit, which makes removing, storing, and reinstalling the system a snap. To remove, simply remove the cover and loosen the bolts inside the towers with the installation tool.
Channel and Clamp-On Accessories
These crossbars have built-in top channels with strips that allow you to carry channel-mounted accessories on your roof. You can remove, trim, and re-insert the strips around the mounting hardware of your accessories to keep the crossbar channel capped and quiet.
The AirFlow2 includes full-length crossbars that extend past the towers. The increased length gives you more space to mount accessories and carriers to your roof rack. The bars are compatible with most universal, clamp-on accessories and carriers.

These are not Thule or Yakima bars, which you would want if you were going to do heavy off-road Overlanding and rooftop tent set ups. But the weight of 165 pounds that they hold is more than enough for what I need. I plan on carrying a single kayak, or a single paddleboard, or a light cargo basket with extra hiking gear. The installation is straightforward and easy. Even coming with the Allen wrench that you need to tighten them on might take a half hour overall to install. They look great on my Subaru outback wilderness, however, I will say they are very, very noisy with the sunroof open! They do come with a strip of rubber like gasket that goes on the underside of the bar I have yet to install. That is supposed to help with the noise and I'm sure that it does. I will update my review as soon as that is done. One of the towers came to broken and customer service was exceptionally quick responding and sending me a new tower within two days! I chose these crossbars because there were already a number of reviews for the 2023 Forester Wilderness, which is what I was fitting for. They were super easy to put on (except the rubber strips that go underneath, those were too stiff in the cold). My set came with three left and only one right endcap, but etrailer sent me out a replacement set right away, and all was well! Have been driving with them for over a month now, and the don't seem too noisy, and work great for a fraction of the price of other brands.

I like my new Malone Airflo 2 crossbars. I have not loaded anything on them yet but they feel solid and look great on my 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness. Not much difference in noise. No difference in mpg.
The box looks like it had been opened and re-sealed. Inside, I found that one of the rail brackets had already been attached to the rail, and one of the outer pads was missing entirely. The catalog that came with the rack did not label the individual parts, so I cannot just order the missing part. Now I have to call Malone and see if they can help me out.
Took across the country and they look amazing on my 2015 Subaru! Very light wind noise without cargo, but I think I put them a bit too far along my rails and can correct it with a slight adjustment
These bars fit perfectly. It was difficult finding bars that were compatible with the 2023 Forester Wilderness edition. The Subaru dealer quoted over $600 for cross bars. Using the resources, reviews and videos from this website, we felt comfortable purchasing these bars. I installed them in less than 30 minutes, and they have worked great...no additional noise or drag. We mounted our Thule 14 cubic foot carrier without issue. Great choice!
One of the aluminum rails did not have a hole punched in it to hold the end cap in place.
Had to drill my own hole.

I would recommend buying directly from the manufacturer. My original roof rack was never delivered, so etrailer sent me a replacement. The replacement was delivered, but I was told I’d be charged for both racks as they insisted the original rack was delivered. I ended up having to pay $200 for nothing and had to send the replacement back so I would not be double charged. It was a nightmare to deal with, and I hope nobody else has to go through that.

First of all, I have to start with etrailer.com. Outstanding purchasing experience. Great prices, very fast turnaround times, and the message from the company the day of delivery. I will absolutely be working with them in the future. As far as the product, they are very nice, particularly for the money, and very easy to install. I believe it took about 15 mins total. The cross bars in black look great on my Forester Wilderness. Very happy thus far!
Very satisfied with this purchase. The rails shipped to HI much faster than anticipated and fit just as described on my vehicle. The video instructions for installation were also very helpful. Customer service exceeded expectations when I found a piece to be missing. They shipped the replacement part within a week without an extra charge and followed up to make sure I received it. The customer service representative, Carol C, answered all emails and questions in a timely and professional manner. I'll do business to with this company again.
First off, I haven’t used my racks yet so this is more of a review about each trailer. It turns out that the United States Postal Service had some glitches in their tracking and it took over two weeks to get my racks. Customer service was absolutely amazing and was willing to send me another set of racks if they didn’t show up with a couple days. Luckily, they showed up. Their customer service alone is enough for me to want to use each trailer in the future. Thank you so much you guys for all your awesome customer service.
Great value for the money. Easy to install and remove. They do make a little wind noise when installed. Worked great on the built in rails on our 24 Crosstrek.
I purchased and used the Malone AirFlow2 Food Rack crossbars in silver, for my Forester Subaru several years ago. They have been great except for what most people wrote about in the reviews, the end caps fell off. I gave those crossbars to my daughter and after a lot of research, chose to purchase the Malone AirFlow2 again. This time they have updated and improved the end caps so they are much less likely to fall off. For the price they work really well for my Subaru and kayak that travel many miles, and they are very easy to install. Additionally, I called customer service, and again as other reviews stated, could not have been more pleased with the information Jesse M provided, especially about warranty. Most grateful for the ease and efficiency with which all was communicated. It's easy to speak in a positive manner and spread the word about this company when you are spoken to with respect.
Appears to be a good product. One installation quirk... loosely position clamps on rail, then measure/cut rubber center weather strips to fit where needed. Remove one clamp from each rail, slide in center strip, return clamps to crossrails, then install crossbars tightly. Installing center rubber strip after-the-fact, as instructions state, is impossible.
Order came missing all 4 end caps for the cross rails making them unusable for the upcoming trip I ordered them for. Waiting for follow-up on resolution from customer service.

Bars are good and well built, fit the car perfectly...... only minus is they sent the wrong end caps, they are directional and sent 3 lefts and 1 right....
Crossbars were installed on a Forester Wilderness and fit well. They also look and function great. Installation was easy and straightforward. I would positively recommend these.
Great piece of equipment. I've had it on all winter in the PNW, and it is locked in there through the rain, snow and sleet. Was worried it would have issues with some of the things we were moving last month, but it held a bunch of very large, bulky and heavy items, even on the highway, with just a little extra noise and no effect that I noticed on our mileage. Just stick to your car's roof weight capacity when loading it up, and I bet these bars can do the job.
I really like these crossbars. If you tighten them down well there is no vibration, and no wiggle to speak of. The all black model is a nice touch as well. Easy install with the video, but it is pretty intuitive as well. I would buy these again for any future cars.
I chose the Malone crossbars for their value and they are a good looking on the car. I’ve never had a roof rack and I felt that the installation was super easy. etrailer shipped them out almost immediately and they showed up a day early. I have mixed feelings about the endcaps, not extremely nice but they do fill the holes on the end. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Time will tell. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. Can’t wait to get a bike rack on them.
Installed the 50" Airflow2 bars on a 2024 Outback Wildness. Seem to be a solid set of cross bars. Installation was pretty straight forward. They do produce a little wind noise, but not too bad.
Very solid for a mid tier price option. Very easy and quick to install, it's helpful to have 2 people to install but doable solo. The bars did loosen up a good bit over the course of 1000+ mile trip with a kayak on top and needed to be tightened. Not totally silent but not much noise, pretty quiet. Very sturdy and look nice. Simple to use.
The rood bars look amazing in black. They seem like great quality for the price. Im glad i choose them. They are really easy to install. I received them in great condition and within 10 days of purchase. Highly recommended purchasing from etrailer. Thier costumer service was amazing.
