Today we're gonna be taking a look at a replacement crank handle for Stromberg-Carlson landing gear. This replaces the manual crank handle for your tandem landing gear. It is designed for use with Stromberg-Carlson landing gear, but it will also work with most other brands of landing gear, including Atwood and Lippert. It's constructed . Heavy duty steel construction. It's gonna feature nice protective finishing so you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion, and it's got a nice easy grip design. So this end right here is gonna be the end that connects to the landing gear, and then on this end you're gonna have two grip handles.
Both of them are plastic and they swivel, that way you can easily rotate the unit so you can extend or retract your landing gear quickly, and easily, and comfortably. Now when it comes to the overall dimensions, we measured from this end to this end in a straight line measurement and got around 30 inches. The overall width from bottom to top of this area here of the handles was about 10 and a half inches wide. The inner diameter of the metal shaft where it connects to the landing gear is a half inch, and then the diameter of the outer sleeve on the landing gear end is three-quarters of an inch. That's gonna do it for today's look at the replacement crank handle for Stromberg-Carlson landing gear.

Replaces the broken crank handle for your Stromberg Carlson landing gear (LG-1, LG-2, LG-3, LG-4, or LG-183708).My 2019 Airstream 19CB came with an Atwood 4000 jack. After several years of use, I lost the crank. This 30" Stromberg Carlson crank was the only replacement I could find, thanks to reviews by other eTrailer customers.
As others have pointed out, this crank is much too long for use with a trailer front jack. Here's how I shortened mine.
I took the 30” crank and cut it down to about a foot overall, roughly the same size as the lost one. First I drilled out one head of the pin that held the slotted sleeve in place. Then I was able to pound it out, using an old drill bit to push on it until enough was sticking out the other side that I could get a grip on it with pliers and pull it the rest of the way. I removed the slotted sleeve. Then I drilled a hole through the crank's shaft closer to the handle. I cut off about 18” of the shaft using a Dremel cutoff wheel. Then I slid the sleeve back on, lined up its holes with the new hole I had just drilled, and pounded the pin back in through the new hole.
I was lucky to be able to reuse the original pin—I hadn’t expected to, but it was a snug enough fit that I had to hammer it back into the new hole. It’s not going to come out! If the old pin had not been workable, I could have used a nail, or a machine screw and nut. The new crank works perfectly.
(Taking it to a welding shop to be shortened would have been another way, but I wanted to do the job at my campsite with the tools I had, rather than hunt around for somebody else to do it.)
etrailer is correct that the Stromberb Carlson crack handle will fit and operate the Atwood 3000 power jack. Just be aware, due to the length of the crank handle, most users with a pick-up truck will have to remove their tailgate in order to raise or lower a trail onto a truck mounted hitch. Not the best solution, but an emergency solution if your power jack is dead and you require a hand crank to operate it.

After much research with local and state dealers, I was unable to find a crank to operate my landing gear or slide out in case of electrical failure. Great replacement crank for the Atwood truck camper electric jacks. We were caught without a backup battery for the electric remote. This came in handy when the jacks only went up half way. Perfect fit!
You have an awesome company!! We have been searching high and low for this handle replacement as it has been discontinued. We just purchased a 2008 Artic Fox with an Atwood Power Jack and it didn't come with the manual crank. We have looked on all sites trying to find this and came across a chat where you indicated that this model would work for the Atwood. So grateful!!!

This is exactly as described. I really needed it to be about 1/2 as long to work with my Atwood lift. The fitting works but the handle is too long. Needed to do some adapting.

still going strong, no problems with function or durability.
Performs well enough. Fit/finish is good. Long handle allows placement of hand well away from knuckle-busting obstructions.
The crank handle was exactly what I needed and arrived in 2 days without paying any extra. Great service and great speed.

I took the crank handle to a local welding shop and had it shortened so that I no longer need to remove the tailgate to use.
