Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

Kuat Transfer V2 ratcheting hooks

The Transfer V2 has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying carbon bikes or bikes with a custom paint job. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook.

Front-Wheel Cradles with Adjustable Pitch

Kuat Transfer V2 front wheel cradles

In its upright position the front cradles sit at the optimal position for holding normal-size bikes. However, you can adjust the cradles so that smaller bikes sit more toward the center of the rack or to prevent bikes from bumping into each other. To adjust the pitch, use the included Allen key to flip the bolt locator tabs upside down.

Pivoting Rear-Wheel Cradles

Kuat Transfer V2 rear wheel cradle

The rear wheel cradles accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. They pivot front to back, adjusting automatically to each bike's wheelbase - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheels in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. Strap extenders (sold separately) let you carry fat bikes.

U-Shape Frame

Kuat Transfer V2 U-shape base

Most platform-style racks force you to reach out and over the rack to load your bikes or walk around to the back of the rack to access the bike closest to your vehicle. The U-shaped frame allows you to walk inside the rack and get close to your bikes to lift them. Also, it won't block your backup camera when it's folded up.

Foot Lever for Easy Tilting and Folding

Kuat Transfer V2 foot lever

The spring-loaded foot lever is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through your bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever.

Kuat Transfer V2 tilting rackKuat Transfer V2 folding rack

The foot lever lets you tilt the rack down with bikes loaded for cargo area access. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner. When the rack is unloaded you can fold it up for storage.

Easy Installation

Kuat Transfer V2 complete security

The rack is easy to install. Just slide the shank into your hitch and use the included 8-mm Allen wrench to tighten the ball cam. An anti-rattle wedge is deployed inside the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

Kuat Transfer V2 adapter sleeve

The rack has a removable aluminum sleeve that lets you convert it for use in 1-1/4" hitches.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

Kuat Transfer V2 indentation

The Allen wrench has an indentation, so it can only be used with the Transfer. This helps keep the rack secure on your vehicle. You'll need to store it in a safe place because you'll need it when you want to remove the rack. You can also use a locking hitch pin (sold separately) for extra rack security.

Kuat Transfer V2 integrated cable lock

The Transfer also includes a cable lock that secures your bikes to the rack. The 1/4" thick, braided steel cable threads through your bike's frames, and locks back into the rack.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2024 Audi A4 Allroad
For your 2024 Audi A4 Allroad I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11448. This is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It features a bolt-on installation and also comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The hitch has a 200 lb max tongue weight to handle your bikes and bike rack. You will also need to make sure you have a Class I compatible rack like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU74FR

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for 2020 Mazda 3 Hatchback
Absolutely! Starting with the trailer hitch for your 2020 Mazda 3 Hatchback, the Curt Hitch # C98BR will work perfectly. This will line right up to existing holes in the frame rails for a simple bolt-on (no-drill) installation and features a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. I have attached the written installation manual below that you can look through as well. All the necessary hardware is included. Then for a Class I rated bike rack I highly recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU74FR....

  • Kuat Transfer V2 BIke Rack Stuck Inside Hitch Even After Removing Hitch Pin
It looks like you still may also need to loosen the 8mm ball cam inside the shank of your Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # KU74FR. The ball cam is inside the shank of the rack to prevent any movement inside the hitch, so if that hasn't been loosened then the rack wouldn't come out.

  • How To Tell If a Ford Transit Has the Tow Package and Parts Needed To Add It
The Ford Transit if equipped with the factory tow package would have came with both a trailer hitch and trailer connector and they would both be located directly under the rear bumper so odds are you do not have either because they are not hard to locate. The factory tow package was also not a very common option but I can provide you with everything to add this on your own at a fraction of the price. • Trailer Hitch That Fits a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid
The hitch I recommend that fits a 2017 Honda Accord hybrid is the Curt # C11496. This hitch has a 1-1/4 inch receiver and will bolt on to your Accord hybrid. Note that this hitch is going to require the trimming of the underbody panel on your Accord hybrid. I've added a link to a video of this hitch being installed on a '17 Accord as well as a link to our selection of bike racks that fit a Class I rack with a 1-1/4 inch receiver such as the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR.

  • Recommended Bike Rack and Fat Tire Adapter That Will fit 4.8 Tires
There are some great bike racks and racks with adapters that will work with your 4.8" tires, though the Kuat Transfer 2 # KU74FR will only accept tires up to 4.5" wide with the adapter. I highly recommend checking out the Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B, which comes with an adapter to carry one fat bike with 4.8" tires, though if you needed to carry a pair of fat bikes you could add the Phat Bike Adapter Kit for Kuat Bike Racks # APBK. The Kuat NV is a premium rack that uses ratcheting hooks to grasp...

  • Bike Rack For Carrying Carbon Fiber Road Bike With A Class 1 Hitch
Hello again James. Generally, we do not recommend using a frame mounted bike rack like the Hollywood Rack # HLY94FR with a carbon fiber bike. The frame mount clamps or hooks could cause damage to the frame. It could scratch or at worst crack and break. You would try adding cloth or some other material to protect the frame, but I cannot guarantee that this would prevent damage. There are some great class 1 compatible wheel mount options. I suggest you take a look at Kuat Transfer V2 Bike...

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11076 is a confirmed fit for your 2000 Volkswagen Passat Wagon with 4Motion so long as you do not have the 4.0L W8 engine. If you do have the 4.0L W8 engine then we would not have a trailer hitch for this vehicle and you would need to reach out to your local dealer. For your 2017 Toyota Prius with Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack, # Y02634, the attached instructions show you how to convert the hooks to anchors. Hey Eric, thanks for reaching out! Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C58JR will fit your 2021 Kia K5 LXS so you can use it for your bike rack. It doesn't sound like you have a bike rack yet, so I recommend checking out the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU74FR because of how simple it is to use. • Recommended Bike Rack for Trek Verve 3 with Step-Through Frame for a 2004 Volvo S40
The Swagman Chinook # S64683 is a great bike rack that can be adjusted to hold kid's bikes so I don't think that the hook being able to come down far enough will be an issue. My only concern is that the 3rd point of contact will be lower so I am not sure how secure a bike with a low step-through frame will do. To ensure that your wife's bike will remain secure in the bike rack there are 2 options. You could either use an Adapter Bar # 64005 which is typically used for hanging style...

I am not sure which Kuat bike rack you are using with your TorkLift EcoHitch but I do know that all the Kuat bike racks come with some sort of anti-wobble device. Some of them have a threaded hitch pin like part # KU74FR while others have the system built-in to the bike rack and you tighten it with a knob like part # BA22B. Hi Eddy; it sounds like your fat tire bike might exceed the capabilities of your Kuat Transfer V2 #KU74FR. • Carrying a 40 Pound Bike on a Trailer Hitch Receiver Mounted Bike Rack With a 2012 Mazda 3
The Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670, won't be able to carry a 40 pound bike. The weight maximums of the racks are very much set in stone, as the location of the weight of the bike changes the physics of the bike rack's ride and can cause damage if exceeded. Instead, I recommend the Swagman's Chinook, part # S64683. This rack adds a few features to the rack and an increased capacity to 45 pounds. By installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C38DR it will not void any part of your warranty on your 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV. Chevrolet would have to prove any damage caused to their components was directly related to the hitch used in a way that would cause it to damage your vehicle.
