Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

Kuat Transfer V2 ratcheting hooks

The Transfer V2 has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying carbon bikes or bikes with a custom paint job. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook.

Front-Wheel Cradles with Adjustable Pitch

Kuat Transfer V2 front wheel cradles

In its upright position the front cradles sit at the optimal position for holding normal-size bikes. However, you can adjust the cradles so that smaller bikes sit more toward the center of the rack or to prevent bikes from bumping into each other. To adjust the pitch, use the included Allen key to flip the bolt locator tabs upside down.

Pivoting Rear-Wheel Cradles

Kuat Transfer V2 rear wheel cradle

The rear wheel cradles accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. They pivot front to back, adjusting automatically to each bike's wheelbase - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheels in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. Strap extenders (sold separately) let you carry fat bikes.

U-Shape Frame

Kuat Transfer V2 U-shape base

Most platform-style racks force you to reach out and over the rack to load your bikes or walk around to the back of the rack to access the bike closest to your vehicle. The U-shaped frame allows you to walk inside the rack and get close to your bikes to lift them. Also, it won't block your backup camera when it's folded up.

Foot Lever for Easy Tilting and Folding

Kuat Transfer V2 foot lever

The spring-loaded foot lever is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through your bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever.

Kuat Transfer V2 tilting rackKuat Transfer V2 folding rack

The foot lever lets you tilt the rack down with bikes loaded for cargo area access. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner. When the rack is unloaded you can fold it up for storage.

Easy Installation

Kuat Transfer V2 complete security

The rack is easy to install. Just slide the shank into your hitch and use the included 8-mm Allen wrench to tighten the ball cam. An anti-rattle wedge is deployed inside the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

Kuat Transfer V2 adapter sleeve

The rack has a removable aluminum sleeve that lets you convert it for use in 1-1/4" hitches.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

Kuat Transfer V2 indentation

The Allen wrench has an indentation, so it can only be used with the Transfer. This helps keep the rack secure on your vehicle. You'll need to store it in a safe place because you'll need it when you want to remove the rack. You can also use a locking hitch pin (sold separately) for extra rack security.

Kuat Transfer V2 integrated cable lock

The Transfer also includes a cable lock that secures your bikes to the rack. The 1/4" thick, braided steel cable threads through your bike's frames, and locks back into the rack.

Easy to assemble, seems very well engineered. Arrived undamaged and complete. Haven’t used yet.

Great using it today

Great so far. I haven't taken the rack on a long road trip yet but if I have any problems or suggestions I will let you know. I was impressed with the quality & strength of this bike rack. Also, I wanted a rack that was easy to set up, load. fold down and store. I'll include photos of the rack with 2 bikes and one showing how I store the rack in my garage when not mounted on my vehicle.

Has worked well for the first year. Was easy to assemble and is easy to use.

Still as good as new. It gets a lot of use.

Love this rack. It is my second after my other got destroyed in a rear end collision. Highly recommend

I've mounted this rack on a 2018 Fiat 500 Abarth, & it's perfect for my needs -- carrying 2 mountain bikes with a longer wheelbase (47+ inches), weighing between 32-35lbs each. The rack was relatively easy to assemble, & its overall weight is manageable (I will be taking it off of the car after biking ventures). I'm pleased with how stable the bikes are while mounted on the rack. In Seattle, our roads are VERY bumpy. Furthermore, I like the fact that the open frame allows you to get close to the innermost bike when taking it off of the rack. This allows for better body mechanics when dismounting heavy bikes. Though the hitch receiver sits pretty low on my Fiat Abarth, I haven't had any ground clearance issues, as long as I take it slow on steeper driveways. Likewise, I've had zero clearance issues between the bikes & the vehicle, & with the rack folded up. My only minor issue is that I've found the J-arm to be a bit 'sticky' when trying to disengage it from the front wheel of the mountain bike. However, I'm guessing this will likely get easier over time. Overall, I think this is a solidly built rack for an affordable price.

Handles the weight of two bikes really well. Somewhat bulky - but it has to be in order for it to be sturdy.

At over $500 Kuat should preassemble these racks vs. all the compartments of unlabeled bolts, nuts, spacers, tools, straps etc…. Yes, it’s good to know how it all fits together for future tightening and repairs, but very time consuming when parts roll around… I got out a centimeter ruler lat one point. As for the rack, darn solid for a 1.25 inch hitch and first go I like the ball tightening screw and needing a wrench to listen ads a bit of security vs. earlier handled models. On a Prius C I need to tilt down 6”to open the hatch.

Long term the ball tightener may be a point of failure. Lock is higher quality than I expected and appropriate for vintage hard tail bikes.

A solid rack, well designed and engineered, with all the right features. Assembly went smoothly and the instructions were clear. Maiden voyage of the rack on the car proved that I picked the right rack.

I love my Kuat rack!. It is perfect for all my bikes and meets my needs. I would not hesitate to buy another one or recommend it to others.

Excellent bike rack for my two class 1 ebikes. Easy to instal and easy to use.

After a year with the Kuat bike rack I am very happy with it, it is very easy to put on the vehicle and with the middle open its very easy to put the bikes on and off! I would very highly recommend!

It was easy to assemble and all tools were provided. Also a nice burlap bag to keep them in. I haven’t actually traveled with it yet but mounts a heavy bike with ease. Not great with front fender bikes. The clamp needs to be close to the fork to hold the bike. Just the nature of the beast.

Nice piece of engineering. Haven't given a big trip test yet, but it did go together easy, all the necessary tools included.

Its a great bike rack, love all the features it has, it was worth spending more for a good one

@Dennis When it comes to bike racks, you really do get what you pay for. We're glad to hear that your Kuat # KU74FR Transfer bike rack is still working well for you!

It's a really nice rack for a good price. A little bulky but solid and keeps bikes secure.

Solid rack that’s easy to use. Kuat is my first choice.

My husband and I are in our 60's and had no problem putting this together as per instructions. It's a good solid rack, no wobble even with my big 35 pound 29'er. It easily clears our steep curb on the back of our Subaru Outback. The hatch clears the bike and there's plenty of room to move between the car and bike in that tilt position. We loaded our car for vacation with the bike on the rack. It's a bonus to be able to leave it all on the car in our garage. We also bought the Drawtite 2" hitch from We're very happy with this setup!

For a 2 inch hitch to fit our 2017 Honda HR-V and the 2 inch hitch Kuat Transfer part # KU74FR the hitch you would want is the EcoHitch part # 306-X7322 as this is only option we have that has the 2 inch opening for your vehicle and does not require using a stabilizer strap.

  • Trailer Hitch & Hitch Mount Bike Rack
Your 2019 Toyota C-HR is only compatible with Class I hitch receivers. This will limit you to carrying just two bikes. The hitch receiver that I recommend is the one you attached to your question, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4", part # C11490. I like this hitch receiver because once it is installed you can only see the receiver opening. If you will be carrying any bikes on the Kuat Beta, # B202-114 that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. • RV Approved Bike Rack Recommendation Similar to Kuat Transfer Bike Rack
At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use. We have the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches...

The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Platform Rack # KU74FR is designed to fit either a 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch trailer hitch receiver so provided that you have a hitch on your 2014 Subaru Outback you can use the Transfer. However if the vehicle has the factory Subaru 1-1/4 inch hitch then I do not recommend the Transfer.
