Extensive Testing
InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the locking pin in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load (maximum force received without deformity) is met or the pin fails. These locks have a shear strength of 42,000 lbs.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this InfiniteRule trailer coupler lock. Now, this flush style coupler lock is going to secure the trigger latch on your trailer's coupler to deter theft, and the trailer can't be removed from your tow vehicle when it's locked onto the ball. This does offer a convenient one-key operation. And as you can see here, two keys are included.
And we also have a weather-resistant tethered dust cap that's going to help keep water and debris out of the keyway. So let me give you a brief demonstration on how this works. I'm gonna go ahead and insert one of the keys here. I'm just gonna turn this counter-clockwise. I'm gonna turn it like a screw to loosen it.
And as you can see, I am loosening that lock and so I'm just gonna keep turning until I can completely remove this portion of it. And so that's going to allow me then to run that pin through. And that pin, by the way, has a diameter of a quarter of an inch. And so here I have my coupler. I'm just gonna run that through the trigger latch like so, make sure you got a good view of that.
And then I'm just gonna replace this portion. Oh, I also wanted to show you, while we have this open, we do have an O-ring here that's going to protect the internal components from dirt and grime. So then I'm just gonna go ahead and secure this. And then to lock this, you're then going to screw the key clockwise like so, and then that's going to lock it. As you can see, it's now closed.
And if you notice here, we do have, let's see if I can bring this up here so you can see this, we do have a little what I call like hash marks around the circumference of our lock. And so when you have this tight, then you're just going to back off to the nearest hash mark and then that's going to allow you to remove the key like so. And then you're just going to replace that cap and then you're going to be secured and locked and you're not gonna have to worry about somebody coming by and taking your trailer off of your hitch ball. So then just gonna go ahead and quickly remove it. Reinsert the key. And again, it's real nice and smooth operation. This is gonna be very easy to remove and then put back into the place when you're ready to lock and secure it. And so again, turning it clockwise to lock this and now it's tight. So then I'm just going to back off here on the nearest hash mark there and we are locked up. This is made here in the USA of heavy duty stainless steel construction that prevents rusting. If you don't know, InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the locking pin in a stress position and then subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load or maximum force received without deformity is met or the pin fails. This locking pin has a sheer strength of 42,000 pounds. Now, let me retrieve my ruler here and leave you with some overall measurements. Looking at the overall length from end to end, we're sitting right at about 2-9/16 inches long. And then looking at the pin itself, the span or usable length of that pin, as you can see we're sitting right at about 1-1/8 inches. And again, two keys are gonna be included with this. And this does have a limited lifetime warranty from InfiniteRule. Well, that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
