Smart Surge Protection
Electrical problems are not uncommon at campgrounds, especially ones where wiring was originally installed decades ago. When a campground is full on a hot day and everyone is running their air conditioners, low voltage may cause a brown-out situation and damage your RV appliances. On the flip side, faulty transmission, bad wiring, or spikes caused by other RVers connecting to a shared line can all lead to voltage issues that may not be significant enough to trip a basic surge protector.
Power Watchdog surge protectors with Emergency Power Off are equipped with computers that monitor voltage and disconnect when voltage is at risky levels. Plus, they automatically reconnect power when power returns to normal. This keeps your RV safe from problems caused by low voltage like motors overheating in fans and air conditioners.

A loose connection maybe to blame for replacing my old yeller one, but after 6 years it was time to upgrade to something better and I chose this because of all the videos and magazines and the Quartzsite rv show. I chose etrailer because of the customer service has always be great for me, thanks again everyone.

Still doing its job, no complaints from me, Im very happy after almost 2 years.
Easily connects with Bluetooth. It has saved us on several occasions! Reverse polarity twice. It gives us comfort to have such a great product

Works great . This is always plugged into the power pedestal 1st when camping to insure proper voltage and continuity , then the camper power cord is attached
Have used a few times. No issues but haven't come across a malfunctioning power pedestal yet. App works well. Item is a bit bulky though and plug can rest on the ground depending on pedestal height.
A must for any RV. The fluctuation in current levels is greater than you think and our surge protector gives peace of mind knowing that the electrical systems in our RV are protected. Our rig was plugged into a vacation home that we had traveled to and the 120 volt circuit consistently dropped below 104 volts at night and our watchdog kicked in to shut off power and then restarted when current levels rose. The app is awesome and really useful when your electrical hookup is unstable (like when you share the same circuit with other RVs). It’s a surge protector and diagnostic tool all in one.
No worries about power surges, even during nasty Michigan storms. This product is the gold standard as the best protection for all motor home/motor Coach/trailer power feeds.

Great! It has protected my Rv many times for not only high voltage but low voltage as well. Best product on the market that I’ve found.
This product is awesome. No more guessing whether there are issues with the post. Bluetooth allows me to check voltage before hooking up RV. Works well and as advertised.
So far I love everything about this device. It is a bit hefty. But I suspect it is engineered for performance vs.compactness. The app is nice in that I can get an idea how much current any appliance draws when it turns on. I like the bright light because it illuminates the utility side of my trailer if I need to get to something after sundown. If it ever becomes obtrusive, I will just hang a black trash bag over the power box. A 10 dollar cable lock from wallys mart seems to solve any potential theft problem. But you could also put a small padlock on the hasp that seems to be on every power box. (the plug is actually engineered so that you can fully close the door)
i will change my tune if it smokes in the next year. But so far it is the best $xx.xx I’ve thrown at my rv.
Haven't used it yet but it was well packed and exactly what wad ordered.

I was glad I spent the extra money for a quality product. it also impressed the other campers lolol
Watchdog has performed flawlessly over the first year. It is very user friendly and the app is really nice to have. We have used the app to find out actual amps a device uses by plugging it in and watching the app to see how much amps increases by. For example, our camper is 30amp. With AC running we might be using 18amps and then plug in a cooking skillet and amps jump to 28. This we know the skillet requires 10am pjs. This makes it easy to manage our usage. The Watchdog has saved our camper from both low voltage in campgrounds and power surges. As well as times when we tried to run the AC and microwave at the same time. We also appreciate that the device will reset itself after we lower amps to below 30 without us having to walk out to power post and reset. We like the sound when it kicks in and the light assures us it’s working or if there is a problem at the power pole. We feel very good that Watchdog is helping protect our investment.

The Watchdog did not alert us when it began melting down at one plug and smoke was occurring. I noticed it and shut off power immediately. The Watchdog plug and my robust 30amp cord were both destroyed.
Does everything it says it will do. Robust in managing the electricity going into my travel trailer. For me it is especially comforting to hear that "click" as it turns on the electricity after analyzing everything. I also really like the ability to change out damaged components. I recently had to throw away another surge protector that was damaged by lighting, if I would have had this unit then I would have just swapped out the damaged part with a new one rather than having to throw it in my trash can.
This is a great product. I usually plug it in at the site first, before plugging in or setting up my rig to be sure power is safe. A couple times I exceeded my 30 amps and the Watchdog tripped before the breaker. Nice to be able to check voltage and power consumption from my phone.
the surge protector gave me warnings when we were at a new campground that was giving us an over current reading at the power outlet.
This power management protector works great. I haven't had any issues with it. I wish you could dim the white dog face a bit but otherwise I feel like my T@B is being protected from any electrical issues.
Recent purchase. Installed/connected to motorhome in storage for the winter. We often have power outages in our rural area and believe this will prove to be a beneficial item to protect the motorhome's circuitry.

Hey! Its been a year & the Hughs Big Dog is still protecting me! I am more than pleased with my investment into this product!!
This HUGHES AUTOFORMER WITH BLUE TOOTH is a great product. Living mostly in a 5th Wheel and 50 amps prior to going into a 30 amp trailer for the summer the use of this product has given us great control over our AMP/Watt usages. I have been able to isolate each and every appliance to keep in sync with the power available to the trailer. Our next purchase for the 50 amp 5th wheel WILL be the Huges Autoformer 50 amp/Bluetooth version.
On time delivery. Unit works as adverti sed.
Very pleased with the Power Watchdog. Would definitely recommend it. Has shut down twice because of electrical issues. Both times reset, and all good.

It actually stopped working while on a trip. Contacted CS. They sent a replacement that delivered before we got home.
This was our first purchase of a surge protector. It worked very well for us and protected us in a couple of situations where there were electrical issues in the campground (one an over voltage, one an under voltage). Using the app on your phone it also provides a lot of useful information as to what is drawing amps on your Camper/RV. We found that you could not run the AC and the Microwave at the same time. Having the ability to use the phone app for a reset was a huge bonus. This will definitely protect all of your sensitive electronics on your rig. And I like that you can have a replacement module on hand and ready should the unit take a large spike. We are selling our 30 amp Watchdog with our old camper and upgrading to a new 50 amp unit, so we will be purchasing another Watchdog.
Works as advertised. I’ve used a couple of times since purchasing and have had no problems. Having the app on my iPhone is very helpful knowing the amount of amps being used versus what’s available. Great product

Been using for one year. Still performs great. Installed a soft start on my AC and by using the app I’m able to see what actual startup amperage is vs run amperage. Great product.
Just recieved today and I like my Watchdog! I like the app, takes the guess work out of power management! E-Trailer has decent prices and excellent service!! I’m a happy customer!!
