Brophy Tie Downs Dimensions and Specs

Angled Bracket Makes for Easy Hookup

These particular tie-downs are designed with an angled bracket that gives you more clearance between the tie-down anchor points and your truck's fenders. This extra space makes it much easier to attach and tighten your turnbuckles (sold separately) when you're securing your camper.

No-Drill Installation

These clamp-on tie-downs install quickly and easily, with no drilling or modification to your truck required. Because they're mounted in the bed instead of on the frame or body of your truck, you don't need any kind of fancy mechanical background to get this job done. You just need to slide the hold downs over the rails of your truck and clamp them down with T-bars and hex bolts.

HoldDown Side View

The fact that they simply clamp on means that you can remove these tie-downs when you're not hauling your camper, leaving no trace. Use the provided neoprene pads on the T-bolts and tie-downs where they will make contact with your truck to make sure no scratches or dents will be left behind either.

where to put camper tie downs

It's important that the tie-downs on your truck line up with the anchors on your camper at the correct angle to ensure a secure hold. Ideally the tie-downs should be on the outside of your camper's anchor points, but they can be on the inside as well, just as long as they're not lined up with each other.

Securing your Camper

Camper with TieDowns

To secure your camper to your truck, you'll also need a tie-down hardware package consisting of turnbuckles, S-hooks, and chains (TDHP - sold separately). This hardware attaches the anchors on your camper to the tie-downs on your truck to keep your camper safely mounted. Once you tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!), you'll be good to hit the road.

Your set up looks great, Paul! When's the next camp out?

by:

Excellent product. Easy to install and looks to be able to do the job promised. I ordered the Extra Clearance model since the small difference in price seemed worth the added ease of fastening down the camper. However, I should have confirmed the clearance between the camper legs and the tie-downs prior. The additional size of the Extra Clearance model prevented the vehicle with tie-downs mounted to pass between the camper legs for mounting. Will have to reorder the standard option.

by:

These work, but there are some issues. First, I had to put a 2x6 in between the bottom mount and the side of the bed. Next, they extend out several inches and that barely cleared the legs of the jacks, almost requiring the "dually jack swings" when not using a dually. Also, even when anchored, they will move some after driving a significant amount of time. For the price or as a temporary option, they are fine, but there are better choices.

by:

Shipping was a nightmare, 2 out of the 4 mount didn’t fit, spend almost $[XX] cnd to get these and they can’t even list the vehicles that they fit on . Will order the more expensive happijac mount instead now as I should of bought in the first place… but will order from Walmart instead

by:

Looking good in the box. Arrived fast and they look very heavy duty. We will install and try them out in the near future. Shipping was super fast.

by:

Love the tie-downs, easy to install and work great.

by:

Great product. Heavier than I expected. Easy installation. Everything arrived when expected. Works great on my 2018 GMC Sierra HD deisel truck.

by:

Holds the camper down. These are replacements as one was damaged due to a deer collision.

by:

Overall, great design and build. The only change would be the T-bar being larger overall (L&W). It can be tricky to find a good spot in the truck bed wall to place the T-Bar. We had to craft some 2x4's to provide a flat surface (2002 F-150). The exterior attachment points do extend significantly outside of the bed of the truck. The dimensions image does not show this full dimension (Inner bed edge to outside attachment point. On our F-150 and Northstar TC800, there was not enough room to back the truck by the camper legs with these mounts installed. And, we cannot install them once the camper is on the truck.

by:

I was impressed with the quality of your product and the service, along with the back up to make sure everything was good thanks

by:

I am so happy with your Angled Hold Downs. Especially how they clamp to the bed of my truck and I didn't have to drill any holes. They do a great job and I have no worries when the girls take it camping for the weekend... I do worry about the safety of my pickup though. hahaha

Worked great for palomino 1200 on a 2006 Ford f150 from Minnesota to mountains in Montana worked great never had any issues

by:

They stuck out too far. I could not back the vehicle between the jacks of the camper. I have to return them.

by:

As always my order arrived early. The box was not in great shape but nothing was lost out the holes. Poor delivery guy could barely get it to the porch. I was surprised at how heavy they are. It took me about half an hour to get them installed. I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. The shape of the inside of the truck was a pain to work around. I couldn't set the front tie downs as far forward as I would have liked, but it will work. Haven't got the camper yet but I'm sure they will be perfect. I have seen these on many pickups here in western Colorado. The installation video made my choice easy ...NO HOLES TO DRILL.

there is no way on my aluminum f350, those will hammer the bed,

I can see why you would be worried about the tie downs damaging your aluminum bed. These are designed with extra clearance so they are not supposed to touch the outside of your bed wall. Are you more concerned about the inside where they attach? As long as you don't exceed the payload they shouldn't move around enough to scratch the inside of the bed.

by:

The Brophy tie-downs work just as advertised. I am a recreational user of my camper - not full-time or long trips, and have had no issues with them. The only challenge is backing my truck under the camper with the brackets mounted - like threading a needle, because the leg stands barely clear the brackets. I have a 2-16 F-250 and a Northstar 650 and their is not enough clearance in the bed to add the brackets after the camper is in position. Again, this is not a problem with the brackets, its a camper leg/stand and bed width issue.

by:

Fit good. Little hard to install but worth it

by:

They do the job and I can easily swap them to my other truck if needed

by:

Everything worked as it should.

by:

Great product at a great price.

Very
effective.

by:

Flimsy they bent when I went into parking lot almost lost camper

Works great with the bike rack. Looks nice, easy installation. I'm glad I bought it. I would recommend.

  • Recommended Bed Mounted Camper-Tie Downs For A 2020 GMC Sierra 2500
Hey Jeff, The only bed-mounted camper tie-downs we currently offer for your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 would be the Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs # HSAB. These drop into the stake pockets and use "T-bolts" to press against the inside of the bedrails to lock the tie-downs in place. Since you have a 2020 model year you'll need the longer set of T-bolts # BR2007 to properly install the tie-downs. To complete your setup you'll also want a set of Brophy's turnbuckles # TDHP.

Hi Joe; you do not have to have the TorkLift hitch to install their tie-downs on your 2022 Ram 3500. However, you will need some kind of hitch for these to work. Assuming you have a factory hitch and no running boards/cab length running boards you can use the TorkLift Tie Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front and Rear # TL23NR. If you don't have a factory hitch you will need to add an aftermarket hitch like the Curt # C14258 or # C15801. With the aftermarket hitch you will need the # TL75SV...

  • Truck Camper Tie Downs For 2019 Chevy 3500 Duramax Diesel With 8' Bed
Hello Keith, thanks for reaching out. The Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs # HSAB will work for your 2019 Chevy 3500 Duramax Diesel and lance camper. The Brophy tie-downs are more of a universal solution and while they do work, they are not the most durable or secure tie downs out there. Frame mounted tie downs like the TorkLift are much more secure since they are bolted directly to the frame. You do need to factor in the price point here because the Brophy are definitely more affordable....
