Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at these tandem axle teardrop fenders with backing plates. These rounded teardrop fenders are going to cover two tires on each side of your tandem axle trailer, blocking road debris from hitting other vehicles and helping to protect the cargo in your trailer. These fenders are going to work with 15 inch to 16 inch in diameter wheels, and the backing plates, and you can see one of the backing plates right here, these backing plates are going to add extra protection for the sides of your trailer and the close fit is going to keep dirt from building up between the fenders and your trailer. The one inch rounded outer edge and the sleek teardrop design that we have right here is really going to give you a clean, stylish look. Now lemme go ahead and retrieve my tape measure here and just give you some overall measurements so you can be confident that this is going to work for you.
So looking at the overall length from end to end, we are sitting right at 72 inches long and then the overall width, we're sitting right at 10 and three quarters inches wide. And then the overall height, we're sitting right at 20 and a half inches tall and each fender weighs about 15 pounds. Now these are (metal knocking) made here in the USA of sturdy cold rolled 16 gauge steel and they're ready to be primed and painted to get that corrosion protection and to also match your trailer's finish. Now this is going to be a weld-on or bolt-on installation requiring drilling in the purchase or fabrication of mounting brackets for bolt-on installation. And again, this does not include any hardware or brackets for installation.
And I do also wanna point out that these backing plates are not designed to be used to actually mount these fenders to your trailer. So you wanna be sure that you do not use the backing plates to mount the fenders to your trailer. Well, that's going to conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.
