Hey, everybody. Jared with etrailer.com. Today, I wanna take a look at the GSI outdoors, glacier coffee percolator. Now, this is a quick way to brew six hot servings in minutes to get your day started. It is made of stainless steel construction which resist rust and corrosion. There's a hinge lid which ensures you won't misplace it when you need it.
And we know how important that lid is to the operation of your percolator. There is a heat resistant silicone handle which makes serving safe and easy. And no matter what heating source you do use, make sure that you do not have the silicone handle near a open flame. Now the percuna lets you gauge the strength of your brew without opening the lid, which is nice to have here, especially when you're dealing with boiling hot water. And the pour spout will minimize dripping.
Now on the inside, if you're not familiar with how a percolator works, you will go ahead and put up to six cups of water in here. And then inside this system here which is a three-piece design, there is a stem, the inner basket and also the cover and in the inner basket here is where you'll put your grounds cover it up, place it in here. Once you put your water inside of it, close the lid apply it to the heating source. And then in time there you go. You'll have your coffee.
Now the dimensions are eight inches in length. It stands at six and seven sixteenths inches tall, and it's width is four and seven, eight inches. Now it's really lightweight, and it comes in at 1.4 pounds 0.04 pounds, I should say. And it does brew up to the six cups of coffee. Now there is a limited lifetime warranty.

Hed to do some bending to get the plastic top to stay on but otherwise it works good. Bought for my camper.
It is a great little coffee percolator. Since it is very difficult to find "coarse ground" coffee, you will want to poke a hole in a standard flat bottom coffee filter and put it in the basket unless you like fine grounds in your coffee.

I am really enjoying this glass as an addition to my camping/picnicking/travel gear. I have tried to get on board with the whole stemless idea... cannot do it! I have also tried other types of unbreakable wine glasses. They all feel cheap, and do not stand the test of time for quality, looking etched and scratched after a trip or two. This is the second glass I've purchased, so I have one for a guest. The stem stored inside the bowl is ingenious. This glass is stable, even on what passes for level at a campsite. The base even fits in the cup holder on the side table of my favorite camp chair. I use it in the backyard, no broken glass to worry about with a rambunctious dog or child about. Picnics, camping, neighborhood potlucks, even everyday, thus was a nice addition to my lifestyle.

This is the perfect size for my early morning coffee. I'm doing a solo cross USA truck tent camping for all stops and needed this size pot that I wasn't sure existed. I’m going to send this back. When I was disappointed that it was made in China. But the main thing was that it was listed as a glass top on the lid. That was why I didn’t get one from the other company. I was really disappointed when I got it. But I’m going to return it.
