Go Tankless or Go Home

Tankless Water Heater

Say goodbye to quick, military-style showers, refilling your tank, and waiting for the hot water to recover. This revolutionary design replaces your outdated tank heater and gives you the luxury of taking back-to-back showers, washing dishes, and running a load of laundry all at once. Unlike traditional tank heaters that require constant energy to keep your water hot, this tankless, propane-fueled water heater only uses energy when you turn on your faucet or shower, providing the ultimate efficiency at a campground or off-the-grid. The endless, on-demand hot water has no recovery time and is perfect if you're on the road full-time or traveling with a large group.

Relaxing Showers without Scalding or Freezing

Vortex Pic

Has your warm and relaxing shower ever been interrupted by a cruel burst of ice-cold water? Perhaps you've been the victim of a scorching surge of hot water that scalds you and sends you dancing out of harm's way. Either way, it's the worst, but those days are over. Furrion's vortex technology is designed to eliminate those dreaded hot and cold water fluctuations by consistently mixing hot and cold water together to reach your desired temperature, ensuring those warm, comfortable showers.

Safety First

This state-of-the-art technology is equipped with built-in safety measures to ensure you, your family, and your RV stay out of harm's way.

Its dual temperature sensors automatically shut off power if the water temperature exceeds 149 F, preventing the unit from overheating while also reducing the risk of hot water scalding. The unit also has a flame monitoring feature that cuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out to prevent gas from leaking inside your RV and a built-in safety valve that allows pressure to vent at 87 psi to prevent excess pressure and heat build-up.

Anti-Freeze Control Board

This tankless water heater features a control board to keep itself warm when temperatures drop. Freezing water can damage the unit, so an internal thermostat monitors water temperature and will turn the heat on automatically when it gets too cold. This feature will only work if the water heater is receiving power and gas. You will need to remember to winterize the water heater before storage over the winter.

  • Recommended Tankless Replacement For An Atwood GC6AA-10E RV Water Heater
Hi Wes, All newer water heater models are transitioning to smaller sizes as the technology gets better so you'll likely have a gap regardless of which unit you choose to go with. There's typically framing around the water heater so you'll just need to add in some 2" x 2" boards to fill in the gap and give the mounting flange of the new unit something to grab onto when mounting. I've attached a video below where Jake had to do this in order to install the # FR93FR. These units come with...

  • Recommended Replacement for Atwood GC10A-4E RV Water Heater
The best replacement option we offer for a Atwood GC10A-4E Water Heater is tankless, the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater part # FR68SR. It won't be a direct replacement but still pretty easy nonetheless as they are very similar. That said, you won't have to worry about enlarging the cutout or anything like that, just switching over some fittings and wires is all. The tankless design means pretty much an endless supply of hot water which is a big improvement over the ten gallon tank you'll...

Your Atwood is an on-demand water heater and for something similar go with a tankless, the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - 18" x 18" Door # FR68SR or 16" x 16" Door # FR98SR. The Vortex system mixes hot and cold water to eliminate fluctuations and reduce the risk of hot water scalding. Great to hear from you again, John! I'm a sucker for the tankless water heaters simply because they have a higher performance than the older tank-style water heaters so I definitely recommend going tankless. Just to give you an idea of the performance, the 60,000 Btu unit from Furrion is able to produce 144 gallons of hot water an hour without having to wait for a tank to fill up and heat up to get your hot water. • Does Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater Provide Consistent Hot Water
Hey Jeff, thanks for reaching out! The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR68SR will provide consistent hot water once the hot water reaches the faucet. So, if the water heater is on the other side of the trailer from your shower it may take a second for the water to work through the water pipes. This pushes water though at 0.32 gallons per minute and can provide 144 Gallons of hot water an hour so you actually won't have to take Navy-style showers with this heater installed!

  • Are Replacement Control Boards Available For An Atwood RV Water Heater Model No. GCH10A-3E
Hey Ron, Since the Atwood line has been discontinued for some time now we no longer offer the correct control board for your GCH10A-3E model. At this point all we can recommend is replacement of the entire system. If you want to go that route then I recommend going with a Furrion tankless water heater. These are a bit smaller so you'll need to frame in the cutout hole in order for the new unit to have something to mount to. Some 2x2's or 2x3's would likely be more than enough to fill in...

  • Furrion Tankless Water Heater to Replace Dometic
Each of the Furrion tankless water heaters measure 12-5/8" wide x 12-5/8" tall x 19-1/4" deep, so that is the size the compartment needs to be. As for the door, there may be trimming needed, depending on the size of the door you have now and the heater you get. Generally some type of trimming is needed as the doors on different models aren't universal sizes. So you need to measure your current door size and go with the Furrion heater that has the closest dimensions. - 16" x 16" Door: Furrion...

The access door will be a bit larger so you'll want to take a quick measurement to see which new size you'll need to fully cover any gaps and make the overall finish nice looking. • Recommended Furrion Tankless Water Heater Replacement For An Atwood GC6AA-10E
The dimensions I can find online for a GC6AA-10E show it needing a 16" x 16" door, but there are plenty of outliers out there that can require different sized doors so it's best to measure what you current have and then find the corresponding fit. The # FR48SR comes with a 16-1/8" tall x 18-1/8" wide access door, so if your measurements are 18" wide by 14.5" tall then you'd be fine with this door. If not then you could go with the # FR68SR, which has an 18" x 18" door, to fully cover...

The FWH09AFA just refers to the main unit of the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR, not including the access door.
