This unit was purchased a year ago as a replacment for the 2nd Dometic unit. Within 3 years the first Dometic failed and was replaced under warranty. 3 years later the second unit failed, and no warranty was available. This unit was aquired as an alternative to the Dometic, plus and upgrade in BTU. I Have been very pleased with its operation. The installation was straight forward, the hardest part being getting the unit on to the roof.

by:

The unit function is stellar blows cold, my only complaint would be Furrion needs to design a better air distribution box.

by:

Thank you Arthur for helping with getting all of the necessary parts needed to replace my AC. The parts came quickly to my site and I'm good condition.

by:

If you’re not replacing a Furrion you will need the inside distribution panel. I had a Domedic and the inside panel does not fit. Very satisfied with the Furrion Chill HE.

by:

With great! Hopefully it will last

Called etrailer twice on this scratched used furring chill ac. Only 1 picture shows the box all torn up with a big scratch on the top cover. I told myself for the price nobody see the top of my ac unit, so I took a chance and ordered it. It was delivered in a few days, box all taped up. When I opened the box it did not have the big scratch on the the top but the whole cover was broken off. All the plastic ears holding the upper half of the cover busted off just held by the front screws. I was worried about the inside part of the ac. So I inspected that portion and seemed to be untouched. Priced a new cover at $[XX], said no way I could have bought brand new for that. So I fabricated new ears and screwed the cover on that had no scratches by the way. Installed ac and works great for now. I guess it’s not a bad gamble for a brand new unit. It was a chance on a returned item. After all said and done probably should have been disclosed better with more pictures and priced a little lower. I got lucky. ETRAILER has always been good to me on my previous orders. I’m glad this worked out should have taken pictures but got caught up fixing it first.

Thanks

Installed this unit in about an hour. True plug and play!! I had to use different holes in the bracket inside, but fit perfect. The only challenge I had for being 63 years old is getting it on the roof and the old unit down. The John Deere with front end loader with forks and a pallet did the trick! Thanks to my wife who is always ready to dial 911!! Thanks to Alyssa J for your help with the purchase. Also, the Dometic distribution box and thermostat worked with the Furrion.

by:

Installation was very straight forward and smooth. I would definitely purchase again if needed.

by:

Sorry to be so late, but had to order new thermostat

by:

The air conditioner was shipped very fast. Received the unit two days before the original shipment date. The serviceman installed the unit and it is working fine. Only thing the fed-ex ship in on the side of the box and placed the unit in my shed upside down because your shipping department didn’t tape the bottom of the box that can damage a air conditioner!! Time Will tell!! Thank you Kelly for everything!!! Eddie Paparo

by:

Order was placed on Tuesday received Order late on Thursday. Very happy with shipping time. Everything plugged in as I was told it would. Very happy, would buy again.

by:

AC arrived very quickly and in excellent condition.

by:

We received the AC, installed and working very well. Bought 1 Furrion 2 weeks earlier, 2nd Furrion on Aug. 20th 2023 and with both units on my 2013 Palomino Columbus 5th wheel with the outside temp at 107 degrees today here in Kirvin TX, they are keeping the inside temp at 76 degrees with no trouble. I am very pleased with these two ACs. They are also much quieter then the old Dometic ACs they replaced.

by:

Awesome lady I talked to too!!

by:

Excellent unit!! Cools the camper quick ly!!!

by:

Package showed up earlier than expected. Packing was right and no damage from shipping. The extra box for wiring harness, metal brackets, and mounting bolts was complete. I haven't installed yet. This was just a review on proper packing, no damages, completeness of all components. Great job!

by:

Great experience from stay to finish. Got what we ordered and quickly.

  • Recommended Plug-And-Play Replacement Roof Top AC Unit For A 2016 Grand Design Reflection
Before purchasing anything you'll want to first remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the controller and the wire harness that hangs down from the rooftop unit and plugs into the controller. It will either have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector (pictured below). You'll also want to verify the BTU rating of your current unit so that you aren't putting a lower rated unit in its place when you swap it out. Hey Bradley, If you're just wanting to replace the rooftop units and keep your current air distribution boxes and thermostat then you'll just need to check the wiring to determine if you have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. • Replacement Options To Consider When Replacing Your RV's Air Conditioner System
Well there are two routes you can take when replacing the AC unit: Route 1: You replace just the rooftop (condenser) unit and keep the same air distribution box and thermostat. Route 2: You replace the entire system (condenser unit, air distribution box, and thermostat). Most people choose route 1 and just keep their thermostat, since most of the time it's still functioning properly but the condenser unit has failed. Route 2 is typical for people who have an issue with their thermostat...
