Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a brief look at this Furrion replacement premium wall thermostat. This is going to replace the single zone premium wall thermostat for your Furrion chill, high efficiency air conditioner setup. And as you can see, this has a relatively large digital display and it's going to show your settings. It has five operation modes and three fan speeds that will optimize the temperature and the sleep setting that will keep your RV cool at night while saving power and reducing noise. Now, this has a temperature range from 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 86 degrees Fahrenheit, and this does also feature an automatic restart that will restore the most recent settings after a power interruption. Let me pull out my ruler here, and just confirm that this is going to work for you by giving you some overall measurements.
So looking at the overall diameter, as you can see, we're sitting right at three inches in diameter, and then the thickness, we are sitting right at one inch thick. Now, this has an electrical rating of 12 volts DC. I do wanna point out that the mounting hardware is not included with this. So this thermostat is exactly like the one that you are needing to replace. This is directly from Furrion, so you can trust that it's going to fit right in place of the original, you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that.

Sleep setting cools your RV at night with minimal noise.I was told this item would work with this thermostat (#FR33PR) would work with this controller (FACC12SA-BL) via their chat as well as on their expert replies to the questions regarding this same issue. Nope. Still got an E3 error code. The controller was brand new and just installed (and installed correctly). I tested all of the connections with my multimeter. 110v power was going to the controller and the 12v lead to the thermostat was good too. I even flipped the A & B wires as they suggest, as well as wire the thermostat directly to the controller to rule out any bad wiring throughout the trailer. Still, E3 error code. At this point, is would appear that this thermostat doesn't work with the controller or the brand new controller is dead out of the box.
I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated to say the least.
Thermostat only revealed E-3 blinking. Would not work after resetting power several times. Need to return. Grand Design.Transcend Explorer 221RB. Please send correct thermostat.

Hi Gregory, that is not a good experience, especially with the seasons changing. The reason that you would get an E3 error code on your thermostat would be because there was a loss in communication to the controller. When this happens, it is usually caused by wires being damaged. I do recommend double checking that the "A" and "B wires are in the correct ports. Also, there was a manufacturer error from Furrion where these were flipped so I'd double check that as well to make sure they're correct. If all that's okay, then the thermostat you received is most likely defective, and I will be happy to assist you with getting a replacement.

Hey Jeff. I see that you reached out to us over the weekend about the E3 error, loss of communication between control box and thermostat. Before calling Furrion you can double check your wiring to make sure that is not a damaged wire causing a bad connection. The other thing to check would be the "A" and "B" wire. We have heard of some cases of those wiring being flipped in production. If all of that checks out, I recommend reaching out to Furrion for further troubleshooting.
