Crossbar Specs

Notes: This rack cannot be used with tonneau covers. If the truck has an over-the-rail liner or OEM sliding tie-down anchor tracks, modifications will need to be made.

This truck bed ladder rack offers 400 lbs of raised, cargo-hauling capacity. This workhorse ladder rack hauls ladders, lumber, pipe, and rebar, freeing up your truck bed for other equipment.

The aerodynamic design of the crossbars creates less wind drag and helps to promote fuel efficiency. The included load stops can be loosened and changed to the desired position by sliding them along a channel. Then simply retighten them to lock them into position.

Sturdy, Rustproof Construction

The Flint Hill Goods rack system is constructed of durable, lightweight aluminum with a powder coat finish.

Because aluminum is lighter than steel - the material most often used for truck racks - only a small percentage of your truck's cargo capacity is taken up by the rack itself, enabling you to pack on more weight than you could with a steel system.

Simple, Clamp-On Installation

This ladder rack installs quickly and easily on your truck bed side rails. Simply position the bases of the rack where indicated in the included instructions and secure them with the provided clamps. The clamps are padded to protect your truck's side rails from scratches and scuffs.

2022 Ram 1500

I bought the FHG Ladder Rack primarily to transport a 12 foot fishing kayak. It took this 70 year old man 3 hours working by himself to install but now that I see how it goes together I think I could do it again in an hour or less. The assembly instructions that were included were useless. There is no parts list so it was difficult to differentiate some of the parts. The pictures on the instructions page were so small and grainy that they provided no help. I was able to see how the rack was assembled by referencing the photos on line at etrailer.com. I have not loaded my kayak yet but it is easy to tell that the rack is plenty sturdy for the job. I feel like the adjustable stops will be very useful. The product looks good and is a good value compared to similar products on the market. I recommend the rack and would buy it again.

This rack has exceeded my expectations and worked perfectly for my purpose. I bought it for the sole reason of being able to transport kayaks. I'm impressed by the quality of it as it's very sturdy (and it also looks great as it's made from aluminum). The fact that you don't have to drill holes in your truck also makes this a winner!

Made our first successful trip yesterday, removed the rack in less than 10 minutes and...no damage to the truck rails. I can now safely haul 5 kayaks in a 5.5' RAM. Love it!

Still using it and still love it. The only thing I have experienced is theblack caps have fallen out of 3 of the 4 ends of the horizontal tube so itwhistles some when driving. All in all, I am very pleased with it.Thanks for following up.

Easy to assemble and is versatile. I have adjusted used it on my 2023 Maverick and my 2006 F150. Don't leave it on the truck bed long term. Use it and then remove it. Everything not aluminum on it has rusted quickly. Recommend sealing in the plastic end caps as they blew off in one day.

2016 Ford F-150

I buy lumber once every month or two and this rack works well for my purposes since it's easy for one person to take on and off. When I need the full bed or when I use my tonneau cover, I use a power impact driver to take the bolts off in seconds and each of the two racks are pretty light so they're easy to handle. If I need to haul my dirtbike, I only need to take off the rear rack, so half the work.

I can carry 12-ft boards no problem on the highway and the forklift at the lumber yard can easily load the boards right onto the rack for quick and easy loading.

I live in Santa Cruz where there's a lot of theft crimes and park my truck outside, so for peace of mind I replaced all the hex bolts with M10 x 40mm "tamper proof" torx bolts that I got on eBay (see photo).

Order to delivery: 3-days - excellent
Packaging
- excellent - I believe it took me longer to unwrap the bubble packaging for each component than the time required to assemble the four individual legs. I have yet to attach the rack to the vehicle.
Components: all present and of excellent quality. ..... Thanks

Still using these frequently, after a year. Other than some rust discoloration around some of the welds, they still look and work great. Only minor annoyance (not a dig on the racks), is if you want to a “j-hook” carriers for your kayaks, you may neeed to get a longer bolt for the j-hook mounts. Seems they are designed for smaller crossbars. It’s minor and I don’t mind having stronger crossbars holding the cargo. Glad I purchased these and if I needed another set, I wouldn’t bother shopping around.

I bought this to haul my Kayaks I have a 2010 GMC Canyon and tow a Travel trailer for Camping. Racks for RV's $$$$.$$ insane! This was easy to put together and sturdy! I can take it off and put my trifold cover on when not using it and no drilling = no hole in your truck bed!!!

Very happy with this sturdy rack to carry my kayaks while towing a travel trailer. A small park was missing when received, but the folks at etrailer handled the problem and shipped the missing part. Have bought several times from etrailer and will continue to use them.

Good 400lb light duty rack. Came with broken plastic cross bar end caps. Informed E Trailer and they sent an entire cross bar in 2 days time with shipping label for the return of affected bar. Wow! Great customer service! Please note, cleats do Not come with rack, they were an add on. Will use this rack for kayak and surf fishing poles.

Ladder rack appears sturdy. It's what I expected. I'm satisfied with this product in spite of the assembly difficulties.

It was a little difficult to put together. First find a 6-mm allen wrench since the one included didn't fit very well. Secondly, attaching and adjusting the crossbeam gusset was a pain. The short bolts (8x15) with the flat and lock washers barely allow enough clearance to slide into crossbeam. If the bolt unscrews out of backing plate when adjusting you have to take crossbeam gusset out of crossbeam to reattach. This happened to me when assembling and when adjusting to span my truck bed. So I had to take down the whole bar and pull apart, again. I found that first tightening and loosening the bolt to compress the lock washer helps slightly. A longer bolt would be wonderful.

If I recall correctly the assembly part was left out in the review video. Now I understand why.

by:

So this rack is not completely compatible for a 2022 Nissan Frontier like it stated. I did have to modify the mounts for the base plates by getting longer bolts and cutting down the rubber padding a bit. But over all it seems like it's quite sturdy and will hold ladders with no issue.

2014 Ram 1500

I purchased this for hauling my kayak while utilizing my bed for my mountain bikes and camping gear.
The rack looks nice but the hardware is spotty probably will rust over time. Installation is not hard took me about 30mins by myself. It’s gets the job done but my biggest complaint is the WHISTLE. Man is it annoying.
Honestly is I payed more than $195 I’d be upset.
Should have just went with the Thule one for an extra $150.

So far so good. Have had zero problems with the rack. I use it mainly for hauling my grandkids kayaks around. Ive also used it for lumber and drywall and handled both without a problem with either one. I do recommend this product to everyone who need the extra hauling ability. Thx again for a superp product

Fits great on my 2014 Ram 1500 quad cab 6.4 bed very easy to install and comes apart very easy when not in use , It can of hums a little bit when on highway when driving ..Over all I like this ladder rack and for the price it's a great buy .

2016 Ford F-150

Just installed these on my 2016 F150. They look nice and everything went together without an issue. I was surprised that the bases were not aluminum. Not really a issue! I did go out on the highway for a noise test. 60 mph and no issues, even with the Yakima kayak carriers attached.

by:

Just install my ladder rack I really like the fact that it is a bolt-on application no holes to drill. Ready to haul a ladder or two but I'm going to utilize it to haul my kayaks

by:

The end caps fall out pretty easy, I've lost a couple.
Installation would have been a breeze, but I had to modify the mounts to work with my bed cover.

I purchased these "easy to install ladder racks" about a year ago for the purpose of hauling long tent poles. I am an auctioneer and we occasionally need to set up tents on the location of the auction. I did not want racks on my truck permanently. I wanted some that could be installed quickly when needed. After much research I purchased this set.

The racks arrived quickly. I read the instructions before installing. The first time it took about 15 minutes to install and about 5 minutes to remove. The second time it took less time to install. They are heavy duty and look very nice on the truck.

I am very pleased with the quality and the all around experience with the purchase.
I would recommend etrailer.com and this particular product.

I am still very satisfied with the purchase of these racks. Easy install & removal. They look very professional.

by:
2017 Ram 1500

I got the package on time as stated. The rack was very carefully packaged and it good shape. Once I read the instruction it was fairly easy to install. I do have a bed liner but no mods were needed. When it was all put together it took less than a hour. I took it for test down the free way and there was some slight whistling. I put my 28ft extension ladder and my 6' ft ladder on and there was a lot of howling going on. That may have nothing to do with rack though I need to figure that out. Another thing that I think that needs to be improved is the instructional photos were hard to read since it was B&W and small. Overall it is a good looking rack and would by from this company again!

Well the ladder track had been doing good I had one issue about 6 months ago 1 of the ladder guides on top broke off while I was driving and my ladder fell off and dented my new truck that was not good, so now every day I have to check to make sure the guides are still in good shape and secure before I leave for the day.

by:

I would not buy it again, The rack looks great in pictures and it works good but It took one rainy night to start rusting and running rusty water down my brand new truck.

by:
2015 Nissan Frontier

Have it for a year now and is great. Only the base is starting to get some minor rust, nothing a little of TLC can fix.

by:

I bought these to carry my kayaks when we go camping. They wok great. I can install them in about 30 minutes and I’m ready to load the kayaks. When we get back from our camping trip I can remove them and put my bed cover back on until next trip.

Great service awesome peoduct

by:

Great product but even better customer service.
First the product: I received the bed rack. I put it together and installed in just over an hour.
Fit on my truck just perfect. Only two minor adjustments because of my bed liner not the product.
After getting it installed. I did notice that I was missing 2 of the load stops. I installed the two I had and I lost one due to the fact that I did not tighten them in place.

The customer service:
I reached out to etrailer and explained about the missing ones and about the one I lost. I offered to purchase the one I lost. George J. Decided to take my order. He sent me out a new set. Only problem, he forgot to send the screws along with them.
I called etrailer again and explained the issue. Carol C. right away sent me the correct items. Not only did she send out the screws but also a new set of stops and extra parts for the entire rack. All at no cost to me. This to me was above and beyond great customer service.
Because of the outstanding customer service of both George and Carol. I give etrailer 10 stars. A 5 for George and his efforts. A 5 for Carol for her over the top outstanding customer service.

I highly recommend this product and etrailer has won me over as a lifetime customer. Etrailer has convinced me that they are a company that truly cares about the customer. Something very rare this day and age.

Thank you etrailer for hiring the right people to represent your company.

The MaxxTow MT70423 truck bed ladder rack is exactly what I needed to carry my 2 kayaks while pulling my Casita trailer. It has worked perfectly with no negative issues. I did use J&B Weld to glue the end caps to prevent them from coming off and causing noise, as some reviews warned. I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship, and especially the price. Comparable racks available cost much more.

  • Recommended Tonneau Cover that Sits Above Bed Rails for a 2024 Ford F-250 W/ a 6 1/2' Bed
Tony, it sounds like you're looking for something like the etrailer Soft Tonneau Cover # e52DR for a low profile or # TX279101 for a standard profile. These tonneau covers sit on top of the bed rails, are a soft roll-up style, and sit 1 1/4" ( # e52DR ) & 1 1/2" ( # TX279101 ) above the rails. But, if you're referencing use with a ladder rack like the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters # Y01151-5855 then I'd recommend going with the TruXedo...

  • Will the Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Pickup Truck Ladder Rack Fit a 2022 Ford Ranger
The Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Pickup Truck Ladder Rack part # FHG64ZR is universal in fit so it can fit many different truck beds. It can do this because the width between the uprights is adjustable. The 63" dimension is just the max they can be extended to so not to worry, it will work great on your 2022 Ford Ranger. It's one of the best cost effective options you'll find for the money that fits this truck.

  • 2022 Ford Maverick Simple Ladder Rack Recommendation
I have the perfect solution for your 2022 Ford Maverick! I recommend using the Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Pickup Truck Ladder Rack # FHG64ZR for your application. This is a standard ladder rack that has a 400 lbs weight capacity but it also made of aluminum so it's lightweight and resists rust and corrosion better than a standard steel rack will. Attached is a video where we actually had the opportunity to install this on a 2022 Maverick!

This is because the clamps which hold the rack to your bed clip behind the lip on top of the bed rails. You can see in the image I included how the clamps fit around the bed rail lip.

  • Does Flint Hill Goods Ladder Rack FHG64ZR Fit Ford Maverick
Hey Tim, so the Flint Hill Goods ladder rack part # FHG64ZR does fit the Ford Maverick as-is so you wouldn't need to cut down the uprights to allow it to fit. If you wanted to cut them down I am sure there is a way to pull that off but I don't have specific instructions on how to do that. I do believe what you mentioned would be correct though, you would need to drill new holes.

  • Ladder Rack For 2022 Toyota Tacoma With BAKFlip Tonneau & Yakima HandRoll Kayak Carrier
Thanks for writing in, and we should have an option for your 2022 Toyota Tacoma to use a ladder rack with your BAKFlip tonneau, but the # FHG64ZR isn't compatible with a tonneau cover. Reason for that is it requires mounting to the rails, which would interfere with your current cover (it is also not compatible with the kayak carrier you mentioned). You didn't mention the exact BAKFlip cover you have, but so long as yours is completely inside the bed rails - with no part of it at all on...

If you're willing/able to remove the topper when you need the ladder rack then I recommend the Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Pickup Truck Ladder Rack # FHG64ZR because of the aluminum construction. • Replacement Rails for Thule TracRac SR on 2003 Ford F-350
Hi David! Did they really steal your truck and remove the bed again?! Or are you still recovering from 5 years ago? Unfortunately, replacing them with the Base Rails for Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Racks # TH21010 is still the only solution if you want to use this rack. The only alternative would be to put on a less expensive ladder rack like the # FHG64ZR.
