  • Weight Distribution Shank for a 2-1/2" Hitch That is Compatible with a Fastway e2 System
We do have a 2-1/2" shank that you can use for your Fastway e2, but there is not one specifically from Fastway. The Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4700 will fit in a 2-1/2" hitch and has comparable specs as the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4100. The # EQ90-02-4700 is 12" long with a 7" rise and 3" drop. If you are needing a different rise or drop distance, please let me know what you need and I would be happy to recommend the best 2-1/2" shank for your Fastway...

  • Solution for a Shank on a Equal-i-zer WDS That Drags When Backing Up
Yes, using a shorter shank for your WDS would eliminate the dragging you're experiencing. To get you set up, I'd need to know the current length of your shank, the tongue weight of the shank, and approximately how much shorter you'd wager it'd need to be. For instance, if you had the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4214 you'd definitely see a benefit in your situation if you used the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4100.

This shank has a 15,000-lb weight capacity and this shank has an overall height of 10-inches. I have attached a photo of this shank with the dimensions shown you can check out. The trunnion head # FA92-02-1255 for your Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800 is the same one used on the 6,000-lb, 8,000-lb, 10,000-lb, or 12,000-lb systems so you can just swap out your spring bars for part # FA92-02-1299 and trunnions with part # FA92-02-1244 to increase the capacity of the hitch. You'll just want to doublecheck that your shank and hitch ball are rated for 12,000lbs as well. If not you can use part # FA92-02-4100 for the shank and...

  • Correct Shank for 7 Drop with Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Round Bar System
Even though your weight distribution (WD) shank (I believe is part # FA92-02-4100) has about a 6-1/2" drop, since drop/rise is measured to the trailer coupler (the ball mount platform basically) this means that the max drop of a WD shank won't equal the max rise of the shank when it is inverted due to head assembly installing with 2 bolts. To achieve a true 7" max drop you would have to disregard the bottom bolt for the head unit and only use the top bolt hole of the head unit # FA94-00-1033...

  • Is my 12,000 lb EAZ Lift Weight Distribution System Overrated For my 4600 lb Trailer
I researched the EAZ lift 12,000 lb weight distribution system and the tongue weight rating range is between 1,001 to 1,200 lbs. The tongue weight of your trailer rated for 4600 lb will not be 1001 lbs even when loaded. This could cause a stiff or rough ride with the lighter trailer if you use the EAZ lift weight distribution because the tension in the spring bars is designed for a heavier trailer. I recommend getting a lower rated weight distribution for the 4600 lb trailer such as The...

Fastway and Equal-i-zer are actually made by the same company but the shanks of most WD systems are all interchangeable between brands.

  • Adding a Second Weight Distribution Head and Shank for a Fastway Weight Distribution System
Yes, we do have a head only that will work great for you. It is the replacement Fastway e2 head # FA92-02-1255 for 6K to 12K rated systems or # FA92-02-0410 for the 4.5K system. This head is the exact same as the ones that come in the full kits. You would have to use a Fastway head in order to use the Fastway spring bars. Another brand head will not work. You will also need replacement hardware kit # FA92-02-9600 since the above heads do not include this hardware. For a second shank we...

  • Can Firestone Air Helper Springs Be Used With A Weight Distribution System On A 2016 Toyota 4Runner
In short, you can absolutely use the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4135 which are a confirmed fit for your 2016 Toyota 4Runner with a weight distribution system. With that said, you will more than likely be just fine with just a weight distribution system as it will work to level your 4Runner itself by design. Personally I would go with just a weight distribution first, and if you find that even with a correctly set up weight distribution system the rear of your vehicle is...

  • Compatibility of Replacement Shanks with Fastway e2 Hitch 92-00-0450
I reached out to Fastway and they verified that you can use the Shank # FA92-02-4100 with your Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0450. Their site shows it with the heavier 6K-12K hitches as that is what that hitch comes with. The Shank 92-02-4116 that comes with your hitch is only available with the entire kit. If you are needing a shank with more drop the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4214 gives you 5-1/2" of drop compared to only 1/2" drop with the other shanks.

Yes, because all of the weight distribution companies make their heads to fit the same shank dimensions you can use a different brand shank with your system. For that we have the Eqaul-i-zer shank part # EQ90-02-4900 which fits the 2-1/2 inch hitch size you have, provides up to a 6 inch drop, and works with your Fastway kit. Oddly enough this shank is made by same company as who makes Fastway since Equal-i-zer makes both brands. I attached a review video for this for you to check out too.

  • Fastway Weight Distribution for a V-Nose Trailer with Limited Space on Frame
With a trailer weighing 3,820 pounds the tongue weight will be in the neighborhood of 380 to 573 pounds which is 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. But to that you also need to add in the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. So for example if you had 100 pounds of gear behind the tow vehicle rear axle that would make the tongue weight 480 to 673 pounds. The minimum tongue weight for the Fastway system, # FA94-00-1033, to be effective is 400 pounds....
