Today we'll be reviewing part number FA82-00-3220. This is the Fastway Trailer Hitch Ball Cover with Tether for two inch ball. It's going to assist in protecting the trailer hitch ball from the elements when you're not towing. It's also going to help keep the grease on the ball where it belongs. This does hang from the ball while you tow so you won't lose the cover. With the built in tether it just simply wraps around the ball during the installation so all you have to do to tow it is pop the cover off. This is constructed of durable weather resistant rubber and we'll going to show you how it installs and install is pretty quickly and easily.
All you got to do is just slip the tether over the ball, take the cover and place it over top of the ball. What this does is it really has good grip, has integrated fins and tabs on the inside of the cover to help grip the ball and keep it on there. It's going to fit your two inch trailer hitch ball and it's made in the USA. These guides save me a lot of trouble by getting the boat lined up properly on the trailer when I’m taking out. Some ramps are steep but the height of these guides works with them too. It was a good purchase!
I've owned a larger version of this same cover for my camper hitch. Just bought this one for the smaller 2" boat hitch. The one on the camper has never lost its retaining ring.
The cover is nice because it keeps the grease off my clothing and the retainer ring prevents me from misplacing the cover when the boat is attached and keeps the cover handy so I can cover the ball immediately after disconnecting the trailer.
I bought this because I got tired of fighting to remove my old ball cover. Who doesn't know the kind I mean? The one where it is narrow above and below the widest diameter of the ball, with the bulging middle that sits on the horizontal line. They are a pain in the butt to take off! This thing slips on and off easily. The retention strap seems like a good idea, but that was cut off immediately. Again, I am sure others have caps or covers to items that had the retaining piece eventually break; for example,the cover for my flat 4 wire harness. I chose to avoid the future disappointment of finding it missing after hauling a load.

VERY well. Still using the original one bought a spare just in case. I expected the tether to fail so I cut it off. This cover is easily installed and removed.
Exactly what I needed. Worked perfectly with a 1 7/8ths ball.
These are flexible rubber. Not the PVC cheapo stuff. The PVC will not flex in cold weather and is form fitted to the ball. This flexibility is important for installing and removing the cover in cold weather.
Great for keeping grease on the ball and off of you. The hitch is always ready to use because it’s always greased. The cover keeps dirt off. Great, simple product.

Great product that keeps grease where it belongs! Hitch cover still in original condition, stays tight on ball. Keeps grease off your clothes and hands.
Finally a common sense and functional hitch ball cover that is easy on, easy off but stays on when it is supposed too. Keeps the grease where it belongs too. Two thumbs up!

Outstanding!
After ruining more than one pair of pants with hitch grease I was so happy to find this handy hitch ball cover. My husband thinks it's silly, but I love it. It inspired me to go through all the accessories to see if there was anything else I couldn't live without!
This cap has been great to keep grease off of pant legs and keep the grease where it should be: on the ball. The rubber cap does stiffen up in winter but still does the job. My only complaint is that the rubber o-ring the attaches to the cap is very thin and can break easily. After learning this the hard way, I am more careful with using the spare that I bought. After a year, it is still going strong with monthly travel trailer use.
This a simple, yet essential, product for anyone who keeps a ball hitch permanently attached to the tow vehicle. It not only keeps the ball dry and rust-free, it prevents dust and dirt from clinging to the lubricant applied to the ball. Now that I have one, I can't live without it!
Took it out the package, went to put it on my trailer ball and the o-ring that slips over the ball broke. I just put over the ball and called it good. Should be a warning that to ring could tear/break. And I thought I was careful enough with it. Not asking for refund, I will use it as is.
It will be a nice gift for my daughter to have the tethered hitch ball cover. Looks well made.

I like the tether so that I don't lose the hitch ball cover.
I cut the tether off and just use the cover. I've never had an issue with it even coming close to falling off. I'm using it on a greased 2" ball. Definitely recommend it.

Its been a year and its still going strong! I take it on and off about once or twice a week on average. I was just thinking I should buy another for a backup, but I dont see this one failing anytime soon.
Excellent speedy service as always,thats why I'm a return customer.
Fastway ball covers fit well and the tether is a great idea, don't have to find something to wrap it in and a place to store it until your done towing. The ball mount bag is another great idea, but use the ball cover so you don't get grease inside the bag.
Better than the thick oil I bought many years ago.

Nice protective hitch ball cover.
Great product. The only ball cover I know of that does not remove the grease on the ball.
Also, being rubber not PVC could weather does not affect its flexibility. I have the same comments for all three sizes.
The ball cap functions perfectly. Strap is still intact, very heavy duty. Grease is now under wrap. This was a good purchase.
Keeps me from getting grease on me when I brush against the hitch ball and helps to protect the ball.
Works as described and not much else to say!

The hitch cover works great but the tether broke within a short time.
