Product as described and expected. Does exactly as intended. Very fast shipping, great service!

One of the welding spots looks like it was stopped short from the end? I think it’s okay.
Thanks

I sent the photos you included to my contact at Equal-i-zer. He said the shank has weld pockets that allow the weld to be mostly below the surface, so what is visible on the outside is not the only weld holding the shank together. He confirmed with his Quality Engineer that the welds are fine and the shank is safe to use.

by:

This is a high quality product

by:

Item arrived as advertised and well packaged. I should have orders a longer one though, but that was my fault for not running a tape measure properly.... :)

by:

Our new F-150 was a little taller than our old trailer pull vehicle and the lowest setting on our Fastway E2 was a little too high. This was a perfect replacement for the original E2 piece but with extra drop, and let me make the tongue level again. It is really solid and heavy!

by:

High quality with good welds. Be aware it is heavy. Perfect height for setting up my Equalizer hitch on my 2017 Ram 1500 4X2. Needed a 5" drop for my enclosed trailer with a 19" hitch height. Can't go wrong with Equalizer products

by:

I did not realize that I would need a longer shank when we switched tow vehicles, but the Nissan Armada receiver is actually higher than my GMC 2500HD. So much so that the 3" drop I was using didn't work. Fortunately eTrailer had this in stock and got it too me in 2 days (I had it expedited). It looks and works exactly like the Equalizer shank I had originally, but with a longer drop.

by:

I had changed trucks an needed a large drop to keep the Airstream level. This worked perfect.

Continues to work perfect, as designed.

by:

The shank is what I ordered and it will do the job I wanted it for. The shank came in very quick after e trailer received it from the manufacturer which it took awhile but etrailer did not pressure me to get something I didn't want.I will say etrailer Sent the shank out the same day they receive it.7

by:

I have a 06 Dodge 2500 with 35" tires and this was what I needed to get my trailer towing level. Very well made and very heavy when the ball mount is attached

by:

Bought a new truck going from a Colorado to a Titan XD. Needless to say there was a significant change in hitch height. This shank was exactly what I needed. The shank arrived in time for our maiden trip. Thanks for the quick turnaround on my order.

by:

I ordered the equal-i-zer weight dist. shank from E-Trailer . It was a fair price and showed up at my door less than a week after it was ordered . It is exactly what I needed to safely tow our trailer .

by:

PRODUCT WORKS PERFECTLY

by:

Fantastic service. Said it would arrive on Monday but it arrived on Thursday, 2 day service. Also the price was very good. This is the second time I've ordered from etrailer.com, who needs the other online store.

by:

Excellent and friendly service. The new shank works great with my Equalizer hitch system; it allowed me to lower my hitch the three inches I needed with my new truck. Solid steel and well made.

by:

Very good quality and great prices. Pleasure doing business with etrailer.com. Thanks

by:

Works perfect for my truck with a 4 inch differential drop lift kit and 35 inch tires.

by:

I ordered the wrong product, but etrailer sent me a return label and fixed my mess. They even paid for the shipping for my error. I could not be happier!!! Thanks etrailer!

by:

Bought a new truck and needed a longer shank. Product as described and the videos and measurements available at etrailer made the selection easy. Super fast shipping. Will buy from again.

by:

Works as I needed to drop my Reese wd hitch. This thing is solid steel and is pretty heavy didn't expect to be this soli. Seems to be a good product that's built right here in the US .

by:

Appears very heavy duty, solid metal. Very fast on shipment and notifications. Fit well for equalizer hitch.

by:

We haven’t had the need to raise the ball, but we were able to get the drop we needed for out 1975 Airstream.

by:

Great customer service as usual. Their reps are always so cordial and helpful. They have always answered my questions and assisted me in completing my orders. Their prices are usually better than any others that I have researched. I will always buy from etrailer.

by:

I received great help from the salesperson on the phone and was able to order the right length part. Paid for next day shipping but it didn’t ship in time. They called and notified me immediately and refunded the accelerated shipping fee. Product was the right choice

by:

Shank works perfectly to raise my camper to the proper height to be level. Customer service was very helpful to work with and wanted to be sure everything would connect for me.
Thank you

  • Recommendation For Reducing Rear End Sag On Lifted 2017 Ram 1500 When Towing a Travel Trailer
The best way to help reduce sag when towing your travel trailer with your 2017 Ram 1500 Bighorn having a lift is with a weight distribution hitch. Personally I fee the Equal-i-zer hitch systems are the best option as they are made in the USA and have a reputation as being one of the best available. You do need to select the correct system based on the weight of your trailer. 200-600lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 6,000lbs # EQ37060ET 600-1,000lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 10,000lbs...

  • Is The Fastway WDS Shank FA92-02-4214 The Same As The Equal-izer EQ90-02-4300
Fastway is made by the same company as Equal-i-zer; The Fastway brand is an entry level company and the Equal-i-zer is the higher line. So the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4300 is essentially the same as the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4214.

I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37120ET with your 2010 Forest River Salem 36BHBS. This particular system is rated for a trailer up to 12,000lbs with a tongue weight of 800-1,200lbs and has a maximum drop of 3". Your Salem will have left the factory with 720lbs of tongue weight and a maximum GVWR of 10,880lbs. • Recommended Shank With More Drop for Reese Weight Distribution System
The great thing about weight distribution shanks is that for the most part they are cross-compatible therefore you can mix and match brands. The Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4300 offers up to 6" of drop and there should be no issues using this with a Reese weight distribution system. I have attached a full list of options below.

It has a 6" drop but with the addition of the 2-5/16" Curt RockerBall # C82KR it has a raised base so you will end up with a 4.5" drop. • Shank Recommendation for Equal-i-Zer Weight Distribution for Additional Drop
Yes there are weight distribution shanks that give you the additional drop you'll need so that your trailer can be towed level. Since you most likely have the # EQ90-02-4500 which is what comes with the Equal-i-Zer kits the shank we offer that would give you a few more inches of drop would be the part # EQ90-02-4300 and you'd be set.

Your best option is going to be the Reese Strait Line part # RP66084 as it has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs which would be perfect for your tongue weight of 725 lbs. The sway control on this system is the only style on the market that actively works to prevent sway before it starts. The other very popular option is the Equalizer WD system part # EQ37101ET which would also work great with 725 lbs of tongue weight but instead uses 4 point of friction for sway control. • How Level Does Trailer Need To Be Using Weight Distribution
It's really going to depend on how far out of level you are. If you're within an inch or two of level, especially if it's nose-high, you'll be just fine. Turning off the auto-leveling system is not a bad ideal, if it keeps the rear of the vehicle at the correct ride height so the trailer tows level, or nearly level. Keep in mind-when you tow, you'll likely have cargo in the rear of your Yukon, which would likely cause the rear to squat a bit more than it is now. This will likely put the...

Installing an anti-sway bar on your 2018 Ford F-150 is not going to do much of anything for trailer sway as trailer sway starts on the trailer, not the truck. In order to hammer down what is causing the trailer to sway I first need to know which Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System you have.
