Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

The hitch itself is a very nice piece, however it did not get an excellent rating because the bracket on the hitch for the spare tire support bracket is way too low and I had to fabricate 2 spacers 2 5/8" long to connect the 2 brackets. As you can see from the picture there is no way that support bracket was going to reach 2/3 of the way down the tire.

The product was good. The fit was horrible. It took my mechanic 6 hours to adjust to make fit. Yes i ordered the right one. The flanges had to be beat out and then reshaped to fit.It may have been "custom fit" but it wasn't custom fit to my truck. Ordered through etrailer through customer service rep named Peyton, even spoke to her on the pholne to make sure it was correct.

The hitch is sturdy reliable. The fitment however was Horrible the width was off by at least 14 to 12 inch. It took my mechanic about an extra hour to get it into place witch was an extra hour labor. I would strongly recommend you double check your measurements

by:

It had a few places that the paint was knocked off all at points that I would expect the hitch to make contact in shipping. One of the side bolt mounting holes was bent, again a shipping problem and easy to straighten. Happy with product.

Gosh it sounds like shipping did a number on the hitch but Im happy to hear it sounds like you were able to get it installed. :)

2016 Chevrolet Colorado

Received my hitch on time and it fit perfectly once I was able to remove original components from truck.

This comment has no reflection on hitch quality or etrailer, but just be aware that if your vehicle has some age on it you may defintely have difficulty removing factory bolts. My truck is seven years old so obviously bolts dirty with years of road grime, which I anticipated. Unfortunately bolts on my truck were so tight I ended up having to use 3/4 drive sockets with breaker bar and piece a pipe to break bolts lose. Once started they were still tight the entire way. My install took me approximately 4 hours just because of my issue removing bolts.

by:

The parts all came in a timely manner. No surprises with missing parts and able to complete the service on time.

Sweet! Glad to hear that! I used to go past a Christian Brothers Auto on my way to ballet class when I was a kid. :) How's business these days?

by:

I installed this hitch on my new colorado pick up. It fit perfectly and was easy to install.
Looks great and of course hauls my trailer well.

by:

Fast shipping, easy instructions to install. It took one afternoon to install and I was ready to tow! Highly recommend!!

by:
2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Pretty straight forward installing. Bolts right in. Will need a hand to hold it in place to install. A little heavier than the one that was under the tuck for bumper ball. Looks great and fits great !! Also got the OEM style wiring kit. That as well fits as it should and fairly easy to install.

Chevrolet Colorado

AS far as the product, first impressions are great! Bought this as a gift for my dad and his '19 Chevy Colorado. I purchase this and the wiring harness. Awaiting until Christmas for an install. My only complaint was the shipping. My wife and I have had too many issues with UPS in the pass and the delivery of these items were no different. Although the items showed up early, I can't get over UPS lying stating a delivery attempt was made. I have Ring video of the time they are stating that says otherwise. Then once the items finally arrived the next day, the box containing the harness was fine but the hitch looks as if it had been dragged around and dropped. You can see from the pictures that the wrapping isn't sufficient to protect it from drops. So, as I said, I would look into shipping with someone else.

works perfectly

2016 Chevrolet Colorado

The hitch lined up perfectly with the frame. I did have to open the hanging brackets with a 2 pound hammer in order for them to slide onto the frame. I suppose they bent a little during shipping. The videos were excellent source material.

by:

The hitch didn't have a bracket to bolt the support from the spare tire carrier cross member to the hitch. Other than that it bolted to the frame perfectly and fits fine

by:

East install and is solid

Great. No concerns after a year of use. Use mostly for a bike rack.

by:

Installation was not to bad, I installed it myself, fit was perfect, works great.

by:

This hitch is more than adequate for my needs. It was fairly easy to install- once I read through the instructions.I had to become familiar with my truck's spare tire tools. Another "learning curve"!

by:

Madison knows her stuff about hitches she hooked me up everything worked perfectly I would not go anywhere else for a hitch

by:
2022 Chevrolet Colorado

The welds on the top side of the brackets were not ground down enough and caused the side holes to be too low for the holes in the truck frame. I had to file down the hole to make room to get the bolts in.

by:

the custom fit hitch receiver fit perfectly and the wiring was easy to install

by:

Excellent quality and value. Shipping was next day, thanks Michelle V. Perfect fitment. Hardest part of the installation was removal of large bolts. Cheater bar needed.

by:

Perfect fit. Just as described.

by:

Nice and easy to install

by:

Good looking & well built receiver. Though I did have to grind off a bit of it so the bumber would go back to original location for bolts to line up.

  • 4-Way Flat and 7-Way Blade Trailer Connector For 2018 Chevrolet Colorado Without Factory Tow Package
You will need to wire in the Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM11141144 on your 2018 Chevrolet Colorado. There is not a plug and play option available on vehicles which did not come with the factory tow package since the wiring is cut under the truck bed rather than terminated into a connector. I have linked an installation video near the bottom of the page which will walk you through the wiring process. This connector will also fit in the factory style...

  • Recommended Hitch and Wiring Harness for a 2021 GMC Canyon
The best hitch for your 2021 GMC Canyon is going to be the etrailer Hitch item # e98909. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Canyon with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It will definitely get the 7,000 lbs towing capacity out of your truck as it is rated for 8,000 lbs. For a wiring harness, I recommend the Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector item # HM11141144. This harness has both a 4-way and 7-way connector. I have linked...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2019 GMC Canyon
For your 2019 GMC Canyon I recommend the etrailer class 3 hitch # e98909. This is a 2" receiver rated for towing 8,000 lbs and 800 lbs of tongue weight. A 1969 Shasta Starflyte should be around 2,500 lbs so this will be plenty strong for this purpose. You can also use the Hopkins 7-way harness # HM11141144 for your trailer wiring. It will be a pretty simple no-drill install. I have linked our install video below if you want to take a look.

There is only one difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13176 and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98909 that fit your 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, which is the finish. The Curt trailer hitch has a glossy black finish while the etrailer hitch has a matte black finish; other than that everything is equal, such as their 6,000 lb towing/900 lb tongue weight capacities, as well as the installation. Both hitches are confirmed to fit your 2022 Chevy Colorado. I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch item # e98909. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Colorado with included hardware. • Differences Between etrailer Brand and Curt Trailer Hitches for 2020 Chevy Colorado
The differences between the Curt # C13203 and the etrailer branded # e98909 are primarily cosmetic. Both hitches would be mainly concealed behind the bumper, with only the receiver tube and the safety chain hooks being visible. The Curt uses a round tube crossbar with a glossy finish, the etrailer brand hitch uses a square crossbar with a matte finish. The cosmetic appearance really won't matter much as most of the hitch is concealed anyway. The Curt hitch has s higher capacity than the...

  • Comparing Curt and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receivers for 2022 Chevy Colorado
The reason the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13176 and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98909 look the same is because they share the same design. Both are Class III hitches with a 2" receiver and have the same installation process. The capacity is the same as well. The only real difference between the two is the finish. In terms of appearance, install procedure and weight capacity the Curt # C13176 and etrailer brand # e98909 are identical. Both hitches are proudly manufactured in the USA. The only difference between the two is the powder coat finish. The Curt hitch uses a glossy finish, while the etrailer brand hitch uses a matte powder coat.
