Double-Duty Corrosion Resistance

A close-up view of the etrailer ball mount inserted in the hitch receiver

Most ball mounts have just 1 layer of paint or powder coat to protect them from the outside world. Scratch this away after towing just a couple times, and the raw metal underneath will start to rust before you know it. Some folks take pride in that rusty, worn-in look. After all, rust is proof that you've had plenty of road-worn adventures.

But we prefer something that works hard and looks like it's barely broken a sweat. That's why we added a layer of e-coat underneath the matte black powder coat to give you an extra layer of rust protection. So while others might be driving around with a flaking, rusted-out hitch, yours will be looking great for the long haul.

Quick Tip: As for the hitch ball itself, if you really want to make sure that black nickel stays looking fresh for longer, we suggest greasing it up before you tow.

I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76025 for your 2016 Honda Odyssey. This receiver has a concealed cross tube giving you a cleaner, more factory appearance. It is rated for up to 525lbs of tongue weight and 3,500lbs of total trailer weight which is more than your trailer will weigh according to your estimates. • Best Trailer Hitch Ball Mount For A Trailer That Sits 4" Lower Than Truck's Receiver
Hey there Vin Gasoline, any relation to Vin Diesel? Anyways, I would check out the etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball - 2" Hitch - 4" Drop - 7,500 lbs # e77DR. It sounds like the 4" drop will work for you, but just to verify you can check out the attached help article which covers all that jazz. This ball mount is special in my opinion; it has a nice matte finish and a strong corrosion-resistant black nickel coating on the ball and pin. Also this isn't bulky like an adjustable...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Towing with 2018 Lexus RX 350 F Sport
Yes, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75540 will fit your 2018 Lexus RX 350 F Sport. We have it listed as fitting the F Sport as well as models aside from the F sport which is why the listing can be confusing some when looking at the product page. To complete your towing setup I also recommend picking up the Tekonsha T-One # 118255 if you don't have the tow package or the T-One # 118252 if you do have the tow package. Then you can secure the wiring to the hitch you'll use...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2014 Jeep Patriot
Hello Kevin, For your 2014 Jeep Patriot I recommend the etrailer Hitch # e98836. This is a Class III hitch with a bolt-on installation. It has a concealed cross tube so only the receiver will be visible at the rear, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The most reliable option for wiring is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118552. This plugs into the connection points behind your tail lights and will provide you with a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights. For...

  • Best Trailer Hitch for 2025 Acura RDX
Hi Simon; we do have hitches available for your 2025 Acura RDX. The best hitch is our etrailer Hitch # e72AR. This is a Class III hitch with a bolt-on installation and a 2" receiver. What makes this hitch the best is the matte black powder coat finish. The finish helps hide dirt and dings and gives it an OEM look. If you plan on towing you will also need wiring and a ball mount. For wiring you can use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. This clamps onto your existing...

  • OEM Style Trailer Hitch Receiver And 4" Drop Hitch For 2024 Toyota Tundra
Hey Michael, I can help you get setup to tow with your 2024 Toyota Tundra. First you'll need a receiver; I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver 2" # e98905 since it has a matte finish which blends in and looks OEM. Then you can pair it with a matching matte black ball mount, such as the etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball # e77DR. The ball and pin are coated in black nickel which not only protects it from the elements, but also looks really nice. This offers the 4" drop...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring Harness To Tow a 3,000LB Trailer Behind a 2015 Ford F-150
I recommend our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63TR for your 2015 Ford F-150. This will bolt on your truck and is rated for trailers up to 6,000lbs. For the trailer wiring you will first want to check for a blank connector near the drivers side frame rail near the back of your truck. If you have the blank rectangle connector like on the Curt 4-Way # C56110 then you will be able to plug in a 4-way. Otherwise you would need to splice in the 4-Way # 18252 to your tail light wiring. You...

Hey Steven, thanks for reaching out! You're going to want the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT38MR for your 2020 Dodge Durango because it sits right behind that cover you're talking about and still allows you to replace the cover when you aren't towing so you can maintain a sleek look on your vehicle. To tow your trailer you'll also need wiring and a ball mount. I recommend picking up the Curt T-Connector # C56336 and securing it to the crosstube of the hitch with the...
