Wanted this adapter so I could use my 1 1/4" bike rack on my 2" hitch. Sized is reduced by welded steel plates inside the reducer. Poor tolerances. Was more like 1 3/8" inside width, so my 1 1/4" bike rack mount flops over to one side or the other.

I hate to hear that the adapter is not working for your bike rack. I am having our Quality department look into this for you.

by:

Great fit to 2 inch hitch and can attach 1 1/4 inch bike rack accessory.

by:

Needed addition in order to continue using my 1 1/4 inch bike rack. Excellent website. Super helpful video reviews and install instructions. Reasonable pricing. Prompt delivery.

by:

Another great product from etrailer. This item along with my recent hitch purchase is the "one two" punch for quality products and service. Etrailer is absolutely the best. Would highly recommend their products and great service to everyone that is looking for quality at an incredible price.

by:

Exactly what I needed for my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited so that I can use my 1 1/4" Thule bikerack on my 2" trailer hitch.

Still works great. Have had it for nearly 4000 miles carrying the bike rack with no issues.

by:

I needed a hitch adapter for a bikec rack but all the ones I found were way too long and stuck out too far. This was the only short one I could find. It works great and I drove 2,000 miles with it.

by:

William was very helpful!! Have not installed hitch yet but I’m sure after watching Visio I’m sure I can do it ,, thx for ur help !!!

by:

The reducer fits well and receives my existing riser well, while giving me the little bit of extension I needed to get beyond the tailgate mounted spare tire. Great product!

by:

Quality....

by:

This etrailer product was the least expensive 1.25" adapter I could find. The product works as advertised but the inside clearance is little large when my bike rack is installed compared to when I install the bike rack on my other vehicle which has a 1.25" receiver hitch. I plan to use a small piece of sheet metal to act a shim in order to take up some of the slack.

by:

Excellent products and fast delivery!

by:

Nice job!!!

by:

your parts were sloppy tolerences and did not fit together well. had to buy another hitch reducer from another company.

There may be looseness using the extender due to how the receiver hitch was machined. When manufacturer it can happen where the receiver will be on the bigger side of two inches as it may be be exactly two inches. This happens with any kind of accessory. I recommend using an anti rattle device such as part # RSCP and watch the review video below.

by:

Solid piece of hardware, no shortcuts. Simple to install and secure.

by:

Right part for the right price! Met my needs perfectly! Able to adapt my new bike rack to my etrailer hitch. Thanks!

by:

Great service

by:

Product was described perfectly on the website. I got exactly what I ordered. Price for the product was 100% reasonable as was the cost of shipping. Product arrived well-packaged and on time with no issues at all. Would use this website again without thinking twice.

by:

Did same mounted my winch in multiple p laces.

by:

As advertised

Great price and fit perfectly

  • Availability of 1-1/4" Hitch for 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid
The only 1-1/4" hitch for the 2020 Ford Escape does not fit the hybrid model. I recommend installing the etrailer # e89YR and then using the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63YR.

  • Is The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e83ZR Able To Fit A 1-1/4" Shank Bike Rack
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e83ZR is designed with a 2" receiver tube so you would just need to use a reducer sleeve # e63YR in order to haul your bike rack with a 1-1/4" shank.

  • 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Riser For 1-1/4" Hitch Mounted Accessories
The Trailer Hitch Adapter # e93YR is the closest extender/riser to the Trailer Hitch Extender # e68YR you found. The adapter does change from the 1-1/4" receiver to a 2" receiver for the accessory. You would need the Reducer # e63YR to get back down to a 1-1/4" receiver. Be sure to consider both the extender you found and the adapter that I gave you above will reduce the capacity of the receiver by 50%.

I have a solution for you that will allow you to use any 1-1/4" accessories you may already own but they did not make any 1-1/4" hitches for the 2022 Toyota Venzas. Instead you are going to want the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e25AR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Venza with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 525 lbs tongue weight capacity and a 3,500 lbs towing capacity. To use 1-1/4" accessories you will want the Trailer...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV
It sounds like you would like to add a trailer hitch to your 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV and need a 2" and 1-1/4" receiver. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C38DR. This Class III hitch has a 2" receiver. You will also need the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" # e63YR. This will allow you to use your 1-1/4" accessories without impacting the capacity of your hitch.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid
Yes Mike, it's a combination of the rear hatch sensors and some fascia that would need to be trimmed that make # C12169 not a fit for the Hybrid models, but if you don't have the kick sensors, then this might not be a big deal for you and should work fine. I know you mentioned that you wanted a 1 1/4" hitch, but we do also have the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13397 which is a confirmed fit on all of the 2024 Honda CR-V models, including the Hybrid. You could then use a hitch reducer...

  • Is There A 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver For A 2018 Subaru Forester
Yes, we carry the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12100 which is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Subaru Forester. I do however recommend going with a 2" option like the # e98839 though so that you can tow a wider range of accessories. Most bike racks, cargo carriers, ballmounts, etc. all require a 2" opening so it's best to get the larger hitch and use a reducer like # e63YR when necessary. If you plan on towing anything with lights then you'll also want...

We do indeed have a 2 inch hitch that works with the 2022 Kia Niro PHEV. You'll want to use the Curt 13497 Class III hitch, which we carry as part # C37BR. • Recommended 2 Inch to 1-1/4 Inch Reducer for a Bike Rack
Since you're just hooking up a bike rack, I recommend the Trailer Hitch Reducer item # e63YR. Neither one of them will cut your tongue weight capacity in half because they are reducers not adapters. The difference between item # HT02 and item # e63YR is you can tow and hook up accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers with item # HT02. The etrailer Reducer item # e63YR is only meant to be used for accessories.

Thanks for reaching out! To use the 20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier # 63155 with the 1-1/4" shank with the 2" receiver on your 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend using the Trailer Hitch Reducer # e63YR because it won't reduce the weight rating of your hitch receiver like a lot of other options would. In addition to this I also recommend picking up the etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98881 and etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer # e99007 to help stabilize and lock the adapter to your receiver. Nobody makes a Class I hitch for the 2022 or 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV. Realistically, with a Class III option for both years it is unlikely anyone plans to make one. We typically recommend a Class III regardless because it does not have the limitations of a Class I hitch and can be easily adapted. The Curt # C38DR has been confirmed to fit the 2023 model by the manufacturers. We also have confirmation from other 2023 Bolt EUV owners that the hitch fits. I have a great solution for adapting the 2" hitch receiver on your EcoHitch item # 306-X7311 to accept a 1-1/4" accessory. You will want to use the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e63YR. This reducer sleeve can be used with any 1-1/4" accessory. It will not reduce your hitches tongue weight capacity like an adapter will. The reducer sleeve can only be used for accessories never for towing.

  • Is Replacement Hitch Adapter 853-7489 A Generic Fit For All 1-1/4 Inch Racks
The Replacement 2 inch Hitch Adapter, part # 853-7489, you asked about is an adapter, that Thule says will fit TH9028, TH9029, TH9030, TH9031 and TH934XTR bike carriers. They have the threaded hole in the shank that aligns with the hole on the adapter. If your bike carrier is one of those listed, this adapter would work for you. Based on the picture that you sent in, it looks like the top part of the shank attaches to the bike rack and the bottom portion, the part you are holding, looks like it is 1-1/4 inches and inserts into your hitch.
