Features to know about

Seamless Compatibility with Hitch-Mounted Accessories: 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" Adapter Sleeves

Ever struggled to fit your favorite 2" or 2-1/2" hitch accessories into a massive 3" receiver? These adapter sleeves offer a simple solution. Effortlessly reduce your 3" hitch receiver opening down to both 2-1/2" and 2" with durable, slide-in sleeves. It's like getting two reducers in one package, ensuring all your bike racks, cargo carriers, and more fit just right.

Corrosion Resistance and Long-lasting Use: Matte Black Powder Finish and E-Coat

No one wants to deal with rust after just a few uses. With its strong steel construction and a matte black powder finish plus e-coat, this adapter is built to resist corrosion and withstand the elements. It’s designed for those who love hitting the road without worrying about wear and tear.

Peace of Mind for Your Adventures: Weight Capacity Limited to Hitch Rating

When you need to haul heavy loads, the last thing you want to worry about is overloading your hitch. This adapter keeps things simple by maintaining the original weight capacity of your 3" hitch receiver. Whether you're towing or using hitch-mounted accessories, you can trust it's up to the task.

Tailor Fit for Your Gear: Two-Sleeve Design Reduces Complexity

Different needs require different solutions. With this two-sleeve design, you only use what you need—a 2-1/2" sleeve for bulkier accessories or a 2" sleeve for smaller ones. With minimal setup, versatility is at your fingertips, making this a go-to adaptor for all your towing adventures.

  • Do You Have a Hitch Reducer Compatible With a 3" Receiver on a Ford F-350?
We do have our Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves # e33YR which includes a 3" to 2-1/2" reducer and 2-1/2" to 2" reducer. These can be used individually or together if you need to go from a 3" to 2" receiver. We do not have any that are both magnetic like our 2-1/2" to 2" Reducer # e28JR you found. I do recommend using a Anti-Rattle # BLU85QR when using the reducers as there is going to be additional play in the hitch.

  • Why Does the Buyers Products 3 to 2 Receiver Tube Adapter Reduce Weight Capacity
In regards to the Buyers Products 3" to 2" Receiver Tube Adapter part # 337RTA302 which is a great option for a Ford F-350, the adapter will actually reduce the towing capacity of the trailer hitch and vehicle while in use to 12,000 lbs of gross trailer weight and 1,200 lbs of tongue weight. The reason that this adapter reduces capacity is because it extends the connection beyond the receiver. If you're looking for a reducer which does not reduce capacity, I recommend the Trailer Hitch...

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2024 Jayco Flight 284BHS
Hey Travis, congrats on the new 2024 Jayco Flight 284BHS! Your travel trailer looks to have a GVWR of 7,950 lbs so I recommend going with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37121ET and pairing it with the Shank # EQ90-02-4900 which fits a 2-1/2" hitch receiver. If your 2021 F-450 is equipped with a 3" receiver then you'll also need the Reducer Sleeve Kit # e33YR. The Equal-i-zer brand is the most well-known out there and it's backed by quality products which...

  • B&W Continuum Weight Distribution Hitch For A 2019 Ford F-250 And 20203 Forest River Gray Wolf
Hey Robert, To pick the correct B&W Continuum weight distribution hitch for your setup you'll need to match the shank to your trailer hitch receiver tube sizing and check to see if you have an underslung coupler or not. Underslung couplers will mount to the bottom of the frame unlike standard couplers that mount to the top of the frame. I believe your 2019 F-250 STX should have a 3" receiver so you'll need a reducer # e33YR to get down to either 2-1/2" or 2" sizing for the Continuum...

  • Is it Safe to Use More Than One Reducer Sleeve to Go From 3" to 2" Receiver Size
It's definitely okay to use 2 sleeves to reduce your 3" receiver down to a 2" receiver. We actually have our Reducer Sleeve Kit # e33YR which this setup. If you'd feel safer with 1 solid piece then it sounds like you're wanting the Buyers Products 3" to 2" Receiver Tube Adapter # 337RTA302 which does give you a little bit of extension but also means you aren't using 2 pieces just to get down to the desired receiver size. Attached are review videos of each product for you to check out.

  • Will Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack Fit 2024 Ford F-250 With 3" Receiver Using Adapter
You can use the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR with your 3" receiver as long as the 3" to 2" adapter is like the # 337RTA302 where the tube sticks out with an additional hitch pin hole. If you were to use a reducer sleeve like # e33YR that shares a hitch pin hole with the 3" receiver the locking hitch pin wouldn't be able to fit.

  • Is There A 3 Receiver Tube Opening Version Of The Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount # WS10-2
We unfortunately do not carry a version for the Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount w/ Built-In Scale - 2" Hitch - 10" Drop, 11" Rise - 10K # WS10-2 for a 3" receiver opening, but you can use a reducer like # e33YR to get down to 2" inches and use the # WS10-2. I've attached a video below where you can see Adam doing exactly that with another Weigh Safe ball mount.

  • Adapter & Reducer Sleever For 3 Inch Hitch to Use Bike Rack With 2 Inch Shank
I would definitely go in a different direction to use your bike rack with a 2 inch shank in your 3 inch receiver. There's a simple solution which is just to use a 3 inch to 2 inch adapter sleeve and then a 2 inch hitch extender and you're set. So the best option is going to be the following: - Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # e33YR - Trailer Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long # e88YR Just put the sleeves in to turn your 3 inch hitch into a 2...

  • Can 2.5" to 2" Adapter Be Used with Reese Weight Distribution System
Yes, you can use a 2-1/2" to 2" trailer hitch sleeve adapter with a weight distribution system. I recommend the Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve part # e33YR which has a 3" to 2-1/2" and a 2-1/2" to 2" for this. The other option which is not as cost effective as the above is a larger shank like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4700 but the benefit of this is that it won't have as much play.

  • Recommended Magnetic Hitch Reducer Sleeve
Hey Doug! The only magnetic hitch reducer we currently have is the 2-1/2" to 2" etrailer Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve item # e28JR. We are working on a 3" one but there's no eta on it (03/04/2025). For a full set of reducers that will work with your F-450, we have the 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves item # e33YR. What are you using the reducer sleeves for?

  • How To Convert 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver To 2 To Use Bike Rack On 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty
The Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # e33YR will be your best option for reducing your 3" receiver opening down to 2-1/2" or 2". Then you can install Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544 to drop the receiver down for the bike rack to sit lower to the ground. Keep in mind, this reduces overall receiver capacity by 50%, but that shouldn't be an issue on a truck of this size. You can use B and W Stow and Tow Dual Ball Mount - Model 8 - 2" Ball and 2-5/16"...

  • Is There A Blank Shank That Can Be Used To Mount A Rock Tamers Mud Flap System On
Since you're looking at the Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty, Adjustable Mud Flap System for 3" Hitches # RT54FR I'll assume you have a 3" receiver tube opening. I believe I might just have what you're looking for with the Curt Solid Steel 2" Hitch Bar with Raw Finish # D29. This solid shank has a total length of 10" and would require a reducer like # e33YR to go with your 3" hitch down to the 2" shank. With this you would also need to switch to the 2" hub Rock Tamers # ERT00108 in order for it...

  • Adapter for 3" Hitch on 2020 Ford F-350 for Bike Rack
You can reduce the 3" receiver on your 2020 F-350 down to a 2" using a reducer sleeve like the # e33YR. Some bike racks like this Curt # C18065 would be directly compatible with the reducer if you use a long enough hitch pin/lock like the # FA86-00-3160. A bike rack like the Thule T2 Pro # TH83JV and others may have a design that would require using the # e88YR in addition to the reducer. In this case the locking hitch hook won't fit around a 3" receiver. The extender reduces the capacity...

  • Hitch Reducer For Using Yakima StageTwo On A Truck With A 3" Hitch Receiver
Hello Dave, we have exactly what you are looking for. For a simple reducer sleeve, I recommend the etrailer Hitch Reducer Sleeve # e33YR. This will reduce the 3" hitch on your Ford truck down to a 2" receiver, allowing you to use the Yakima StageTwo Bike Rack # Y47VR. I like this option best because this reducer is actually a pair of reducers. Meaning you can reduce your hitch down to a 2-1/2" or a 2" receiver. If you prefer a reducer/extender, take a look at part # 337RTA302. This will...

Yes, the B&W Tow & Stow Pintle Hook with 2" Ball # BWTS20055 can safely be used on a truck with a 3" hitch receiver by using a reducer sleeve, and for that I recommend the Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves # e33YR which accommodates both 2-1/2" and 2" accessories.
