The first thing you should know about the etrailer tonneau cover is that it doesn't have Bluetooth, or any other unnecessary feature found on many of the other national brands' over-priced covers. When we decided to offer an etrailer hard, folding tonneau cover, we knew we wanted to keep it simple, to offer a quality cover that looks great on your vehicle and leaves money in your wallet. And because we aren't baking the cost of a national ad campaign into the price of our covers, we were able to do just that. The etrailer hard tonneau cover is a well-built, folding cover that will keep your gear dry, protect it from theft, and look great doing it. All this for less than some of the competition's soft, roll-up covers.

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at our etrailer Quad Fold Hard tonneau cover on our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. Adding a tonneau cover to the back of your Sierra is a great way to add to the appearance of your vehicle. It also helps reduce wind resistance. So as far as security, if you have your truck bed locked, you're not gonna have easy access to get into anything that you may have in the back of your bed. Another really cool thing is the fact that it's gonna protect your bed against those elements that are out there. If you have something that you didn't want to get wet or snowy, this is gonna help with that.
Your latch system here, it just pinches and releases both sides so you're able to remove your cover from either side of your truck and it just folds right up. You actually have these foam pads on each one of your four panels that are gonna help keep from making contact with the other side of the panel to keep your cover looking nice and new for a very long time. A real cool feature with this quad fold is it does not obstruct the view of your back window like some of the others that are out there. And it just secures down right here with the two straps on both sides. And on the front of the cover you actually have a integrated seal that's gonna help keep everything nice and dry on the inside of your bed.
There is an included self adhesive strip that goes along the bulkhead. I didn't do it in this installation 'cause it's just a demonstration. However, the install super easy. So let me show you how to get it done. We're gonna start our installation by assembling our clamps.
The clamps are what's gonna hold your rail in place on the side of the bed. So you have two separate parts. The textured point is actually gonna go on the inside and this is what's gonna go along the track of the rail itself. And you're gonna take your included bolt and just thread it through the slot just enough to bite in position so you can squeeze it around the edge of the bed when you're installing it. And you're gonna take your hand knob and put it on the bottom threaded plate.
Now we're gonna put our included extension piece onto the track. The extension is installed using a couple set screws and a latch. So I'm just gonna screw back our set screw a little bit, just enough so we can get it to slide down the track. And we're just gonna make sure we get that in here. And then we're just gonna fasten her down just to make sure we're nice and tight. So from here we're gonna install our rail onto the driver's side of the bed. We're just gonna make sure that we have our bracket right here up against the bulkhead of the bed. From here we're gonna use our assembled brackets, and secure our rail to the side of the bed. We're just gonna slide our brackets right into the precut grooves. Just being cautious that there may be clips that are underneath that hold on the cover for the side of your bed. Now I found on the farther clamp that's close to the tailgate, you're actually gonna have to assemble the clamp in order to get it on because your tie down loops get in the way. So it's gonna kind to fill it out here. So you may want to grab a second set of hands to help you get your cover installed. I have Aiden here assisting. All right, so now let's move on to getting the cover secured to the tracks. Now that we have our cover on top of the bed and we're getting ready to secure it to the brackets on the rail, you're gonna go at the top right underneath your seal, you are gonna fish out this bolt. All right, and you are gonna do this on both sides. And that's just gonna go down into the hole underneath right on the edge of the bracket for your tracks. So we're gonna take our knob and we're gonna thread that onto this long bolt. And this is just one of the three fasteners that you're gonna put on to secure your cover. Now that the front of the cover is secure, we're gonna secure the rear of it using our bracket that goes along our track. So we're gonna make sure that the flat side is pointing upward and we're gonna insert it into the track and slide it down to the bracket here. We're gonna use our included hardware, just fasten it in. So after I do this side, I'm gonna do the same thing on the other side. After making sure that you have everything spaced accordingly and your cover can close and open correctly, give all your fasteners a final tighten just to make sure it is locked in to where you would like it. And then you'll be able to make use of your cover. Now notice that you may have to give it a little bit of persuasion to lock it in, but from there it's nice and secure on the back of your vehicle. This has been a look at some of the features and the installation on the etrailer Quad Fold Hard tonneau cover on our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. I'm Ed, this is etrailer.com and you have a great day.

When we decided to offer an etrailer hard, folding tonneau cover, we knew we wanted an affordable cover that would look great on your vehicle. It may not have all the flashy extras, but it's a quality cover that provides a lot of value. There are large gaps in both front corner where you can see daylight. The kit included 2 different types of rubber weather stripping, but the instructions didn't show where or how to install it.
The cover was delivered in just a couple of days. The instructions were clear with the exception of what the piece of rubber seal and the roll of seal was to be used for. The cover looks good and works as described. I had my truck in a hard rain and the bed was 99.9% dry. Nice so far. Time will tell though.
The cover could use a couple more latches at the folds to help it lay flatter.

Hey John! Could you send me some pictures showing me what you are describing? I really want to look into this for you.
Simply assembling. Even though there are gaps in the front, it is to be highly recommended.
Just received and installed in less than an hour. Thanks to the etrailer video, this was simple and all the parts fit perfectly on a 2023 F150. I had a very similar cover on my last truck (Solid Fold 2.0) and after 7 years it was as good as new - but this version has better latching and more robust mounting. It does stand off about an inch (more room underneath than flush mount) though looks great with black bed rails and there's less weatherstripping to get sun baked or damaged. Probably not a cover you're going to want to take off and reinstall all the time though even if you did it's probably less than 10 minutes. Partly because it's not light....maybe 75lbs? BTW that would be a nice callout for etrailer to mention for comparison shopping. Overall, a great cover and when you compare pricing this is a rock-solid option.
The cover came packed really well. The only tool you need is a knife to open it, everything else is included. The written directions were ok but the videos on etrailer give all the information you need. The fit and finish were very good. The other comparable hard covers I considered were more than twice as much. This cover was for my 2024 chevy 2500hd, I have the flex tailgate which opens fine with the cover, but the flex section will not close with the cover down. I was aware there might be an issue with the flex tailgate before I even ordered a cover, but using the full tailgate function causes no issues at all. I did use the included butyl tape to "fill" a couple gaps at the front of the bed, where the front weatherstrip doesn't quite extend far enough to close it off. This would be the only design flaw that would be an easy fix if they made the weatherstrip longer and allowed you to trim to fit. Time will tell how water tight it is, but i can't see any daylight between the cover and the bed. I would definitely recommend this cover for anyone wanting more security than a soft cover yet not wanting to spend over 1K for some of the high end hard covers on the market.
I love the price point and love the look and feel. For me it definitely compares to some of the bigger brands. I have one complaint, the locking mechanism feels flimsy and I feel like it should be metal. When I try locking the corners in place I have to have both corners pushed down at the same time for it to go flush. I'm still satisfied with the cover especially the price point.
Great customer service and the products (truck bed liner and cover) fit perfectly.
Installation went well. We will be on vacation later this week and will know more on operations.
This is my first tonneau cover. It took less than an hour to install on my F-150. It fits perfectly and works great. Highly recommended.
Just unloaded the truck. Even went down a white dirt road this past week drove through the rain this morning. Bed is perfectly clean n dry on the inside.
Just installed it in less than an hour. Love the fit!
The cover leaks water in the folds. I may return it if I can’t fix it

Randy, I had our manufacturer take a look at the pictures that were sent and asked about the weather stripping. What was recommended is to use the weather stripping that came in a roll. Either one will work however go with the one in the roll. As for the openings that you are seeing, they are normal. If you find that you have excessive water entering the truck bed please let us know.
