Self-contained locking pins in the hitch and shank eliminate rattle and deter theft. Go from a 10" drop to an 11" rise to swap between trailers. Tow up to 8,000 lbs with the 2" ball and up to 10,000 lbs with the 2-5/16" ball.

Specs:
This Fastway Silent adjustable ball mount provides solid, rattle-free towing performance. A stainless steel pin, operated by the included hex tool, extends out from the shank and tightens the ball mount in your receiver.
To further eliminate any movement, a bolt in the side of the ball platform tightens the connection between the platform and the adjustment shank. As a result, you'll enjoy a quiet, rattle-free towing experience.
The ball platform is connected to the adjustment shank by the hex bolt located in the front of the platform. To change the ball height, simply loosen both the bolt in the front and the bolt in the side of the platform with the included tool. This will release the ball platform and allow you to slide it up and down. Or, you can slide the platform off and reverse it to change the ball size.

What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Fastway Adjustable Aluminum Ball Mount. Now it's gonna be able to adjust to different heights. That way if you have a bunch of different trailers, you can adjust it for each one. You can even squish it from a two and five sixteenths-inch ball to a two-inch ball. Let's check it out.
Today we're using it in a two-inch by two-inch hitch but there is a different version of this that also fits two and a half-inch hitches. Some things that set this apart from other adjustable ball mounts is this one's getting made out of aluminum, so it's really lightweight. It's gonna be easy to install or remove from your hitch. Another thing is it's got anti-rattle built into it. So a lot of times with these ball mounts you're gonna install it, (ball mount rattles) you're gonna have a little bit of shake and play in that hitch.
This, you can remove it, by turning this with the hex head tool that it comes with. It's gonna have a cylinder that comes up out of the shank, that pushes up into the hitch, which pushes down on the shank, tightening it all down. So I'm gonna show you after I get a couple more turns on this to make sure it's tight. Like that. Now, I shake it.
(vehicle bangs) It doesn't move as much. Using a similar method, that is how you adjust the ball too. So you can switch from the two inch to a two five sixteenths-inch using that hex head tool. Use the end that has the opening in the middle 'cause that's gonna fit these. So we'll go to the side.
Loosen it here first. Then up front. Now it's able to slide into whatever position you need to. You can even flip it around. Bring it all the way down here. Flip it. Slide it back on. Now you've switched the ball and then you just tighten it back up into place. Now make sure you do line it up with the hole, and you'll be able to tell that, because you'll be able to see the screw go in. You see, as I'm tightening it here, this is as far as it'll go. That means it's making contact with the shank. I don't have it lined up properly. So I just adjust it a little bit more to line it up, and that threads in. Adjust that's one first. We'll come here to the side. Now that we've flipped it around, this one, the safety lock is gonna be on this side. Tighten that up and see. There's no movement in the ball whatsoever. At first I was unsure about tightening it all down with the hex head tool. Just one more thing to remember. But after using it, I did really like it. It does take all that movement out of there, as you saw. It's easier than the pin and clip system sometimes. Sometimes those pins can get rusted. You're pulling the clip off there and not hitting your hands somewhere. It's kind of a pain. Or even just making sure you keep track of all the pins you need. Sometimes you need about three of 'em, just one in the hitch, two in the ball assembly. Moving those all around to adjust it. It was far easier just to use this tool, move this where I needed to, tighten it down, and tighten it down in the shank. I would recommend though, getting a hitch pin lock. Since you can't really lock these in place, sometimes you can replace those pins with locking hitch pins, but if they don't have this tool they're not gonna be able to mess with this anyway. I would just get a lock here. That way you've protected the whole assembly. Now with the ball on the lowest position, you're gonna be able to have a 10-inch drop. It's a little extreme for this vehicle. I don't think you're gonna need this, but if your truck was a little bit taller and you need that, you're able to go down 10 inches. Or if you put it in the rise position, you can go up 11. You just flip it around. Now this would be it at its highest position. The weight rating is gonna change depending on which ball you use. So if you use the two-inch ball, it's gonna have a gross tow weight rating of 8,000 pounds. Flip it around, and they're doing the two and five sixteenths, that's gonna be rated at 10,000 pounds. Now they both have a tongue weight rating of a thousand pounds. So keep that in mind, and also always check your hitch in your vehicle. Whatever's the lowest number, don't exceed that. It being made out of aluminum, eliminates any weld seams. You don't have to worry about those failing or cracking on you over time. Now this same assembly is gonna be all aluminum. The ball is gonna be a chrome-plated stainless steel. Compared to some of the other adjustable ball mounts, especially with the drop that this one has, I like the aluminum build. It's gonna be far lighter, easy to install or take out of the hitch, if I don't want it in there all the time. Throw in the back of the truck or in the garage. It's gonna be easy. Another thing I really like is the tool-based. At first I was kind of against it, but as I used it, I really like how it has the anti-rattle, how it takes all that shake and play out. So that means it's not gonna transfer from the trailer to the truck or the truck to the trailer. I can be confident that I'm hauling with this and there's not gonna be any rattling. As I showed you before, you can shake the whole truck back and forth with how tight this is in there. So I really like that part 'cause a lot of the ball mounts, you can't do much about that. The only thing I would say is make sure you get a locking hitch pin up here. That way, since you've invested in this, you can lock it up here and nobody can mess with this when you're not around. Well I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope this helps.

Great hitch. Very well made and the anti-rattle feature is very secure. This fits my 2.5" receiver like a glove.
Great hitch. Before using, to protect against salt and road grime, I coated the hitch with a petroleum-based product. Before use I also removed all screws and coated with anti-sieze.
