Video Transcript for Review of Dometic Replacement Circuit Board Atwood Water Heater - DMC89FR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look at this replacement circuit board for the Dometic Atwood Water Heaters. This is going to replace the circuit board in your Dometic Atwood Water Heaters. And on your screen, I am including the model numbers of the water heaters that this circuit board is going to work with and fit. And this includes everything that you see here on the table before me. It includes obviously this circuit board with fuse, and you can see that fuse right here. Let me see if I can give you a little bit of a closer look at that in case you need to take a look at those connectors.

And you also are going to receive these two mounting screws that you see right here. And then this instruction sheet going over the replacement. And let me retrieve my ruler here and go over some measurements with you just to give you the further confidence that this is going to work for you. So looking at the overall length, we're sitting right at about 4-1/4", the overall width, we're sitting right at 3-3/8". And then the overall depth, at the deepest point here looks like we're sitting right at about 1-3/4" deep.

And then those mounting holes, center to center, see if I can line that up here for you. As you can see, it looks like we're sitting right at 4-7/8" on those mounting holes center to center. So this is directly from Dometic. And if you are looking to replace the circuit board in those water heaters with the model numbers that I shared with you at the beginning of our time together, this is going to be exactly what you need. Well, that's going to conclude our brief look today.

I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Clicking repeatedly when on electric does indicate that you are going to need a new control board, in which you can use # DMC89FR. As far as a larger water heater goes, the best option we can recommend that has both gas and electric like your GC6AA-10E is the: -Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR. This is quite a big jump from your current water heater, providing up to 96 gallons of hot water per hour as well as a 38,000 Btu heating capacity. Additionally, this unit features a vent-free...

  • Troubleshooting an Atwood GC10A-4E That Does Not Heat
There could be a few reasons why your Atwood water heater is not heating when on propane. The most common reason is that you have an issue with your propane supply. You're going to want to make sure that you have full tanks of propane and that you are getting good flow. You can check this by testing another appliance that uses LP gas like a stove. If that is all good, then you can rule out your LP system and shift your focus to the water heater as that's where the problem is going to be. I...

  • Troubleshooting Atwood GC10A-4E Water Heater Causing Steam In Tank On Electric Only Power
It sounds like your thermostat 91447 is bad as well as your Pressure Relief Valve # CAM10423. There is also a chance the Circuit Board # DMC89FR could also be bad if it is not the thermostat. I recommend either taking the water heater in to have it test and verifying which parts need replaced or updating to a Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR. The tankless option will only use gas to heat the water but since it only runs while the water is running it uses much less than keeping the tank hot...

  • Troubleshooting Dometic Water Heater Not Staying On
While we generally do recommend getting replacement parts directly from Dometic, it does not sound like the circuit board is the issue. It does sound like the issue lies with the Energy Cutoff Switch/Thermostat. This switch will activate and stop your unit to prevent overheating the water. Resetting the power like you have, has been clearing this issue but since it keeps tripping you'll need to have a licensed technician replace the thermal cut off switch (ECO) or the thermostat as that...
