Hello everybody, this is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the replacement side plates for the Demco Autoslide Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch on the RAM OE factory under-bed systems. Now this part here will replace the side plates that came standard with the Demco Autoslide fifth wheel trailer hitch. These will fit on the 18,000 pound model and the 21,000 pound fifth wheel hitches. And we do sell those hitches separately on our website. The 18,000 pound model is part number DM69GV and the 21,000 pound hitch is DM89GV.
Basically when these are installed on that hitch this'll let you install the hitch in the pucks of your Rams factory under-bed rail system. It has a simple bolt-on installation to your hitch base. You can see it does come with the mounting hardware that allows you to bolt these to the base. Now when you go to drop this into your OEM RAM under-bed system, just wanted to zoom in and show you, they do have on each corner. I'm gonna demonstrate on this corner here, but the way you install that into the factory system, you take out your retaining pin, rotate this 90 degrees just like that and you can see if you watch that tab down there as you rotate it, that'll change the angle of that tab.
So when you open it up like that and you do that on all four corners that'll allow you to drop these into the under-bed system. Once it drops into the pucks that are on the system, rotate that back and it'll rotate that tab and lock it into there. Take your clip. Line it up with the hole. Drop it in.
Clip it in place and you're all ready to go. Simple as that. If you notice, it does have multiple rows here of bolt holes that'll let you adjust the hitch height. So when you go to bolt these two to hitch base it'll allow you to put it at the correct height for your application. These parts are rust resistant black powder coat steel construction and they are made in the USA.

I have received my side plates in great condition. Still waiting for the Auto slide but customer service, keeping me updated, and ease of ordering was great.
I have not hauled my 5th wheel yet with the installation of this product, but I will be doing that this weekend. As far as the installation goes, it matched up perfectly with the autoslide hitch transforming it into a direct connection to the OEM puck system with my 2500 Ram. I did deduct one star because the driver side plate did not fit exactly with the OEM puck system and I did have to expend a significant amount of effort to finally get it to fit into the system. The passenger side plate fit perfectly.
Customer service was on point. Helped me find and order what I needed right away.
