Simple, Tabless Design

Setting up these tabless base plates for use with your Demco tow bar is fast and easy. They easily bolt onto the ends of your tow bar. And because the tabs remain on your tow bar at all times instead of protruding from your vehicle, your car maintains a clean look when it's not being towed.

Easy Hookup and Disconnect

Demco Base Plate Tabless Hookup

Using the Demco Tabless base plates to attach and remove your tow bar couldn't be easier. With the base plate tabs attached to your tow bar arms, simply insert the tabs into the receivers on your vehicle and twist to lock them in place. Insert the included pull pins to add an extra layer of security, ensuring the tabs stay put. To remove each arm, simply tug the pull pin to disengage the lock, twist the tow bar arm, and pull the tab out of the bracket.

Receiver Covers

Keep dirt and debris out of the base plate receivers with the included covers. These high-density polyethylene covers easily snap into place over each pull point when your tow bar is not attached. Limiting internal corrosion makes it easier to slide the tabs in and out and helps to prevent seizing so that the tabs don't get stuck.

Tow Bar Adapters

Demco makes adapters for use with other tow bars so that you don't have to go through the added hassle and expense of replacing your tow bar when outfitting your new towed car with base plates.

2024 Ford Maverick

I don’t know who said this could be installed without cutting the facia (see answered questions…one says no cutting required and. Another says you don’t have to remove louvers), but on my 2024 Maverick Hybrid, there were two types of cuts required. First, the air dam has to be trimmed, but that is actually already in the instructions, so as long as you pre read those, you know about that. But for me, I HAD to remove 2 sets of the louvers (4 pieces total) which in reality was only a 1 hour add on once i knew it had to be done, but the big problem is that once the tow bar was installed (with no shining washers trying to clear the louvers), my facial would not reinstall. The holes along the bottom were about 1/2” from being able to be rebolted. I found the vertical bars in the grill that goes in front of the tow bar were hitting on the tow bar itself as well as the welds on the front. I had to cut some of the vertical bars and force the facia into place. It’s on, but I’m not happy that it is still under stress because the bar sits too far forward. That said, there is no way to make the bar fit any farther toward the rear. It was already pressing hard against the louvers before i removed them…so really no play there. Also, i was not happy that Demco didn’t bother to provide any kind of usable bracket for use with a breakaway, a wiring harness plug, or anything like even their own Air Force one. I had to fab brackets for AF1 and breakaway. I mounted the lighting bracket on the facia with a handmade backing plate to add rigidity. I love the way the install video just causally skips over installing any of those required components. Well, once the bar is in place, and the facia forced back on. It looks fine except the ugly low placement of the lighting plug (which I hope never finda a parking block) and the lower grill looks distorted because of the press fit (if you notice it anyway). Guess we’ll see how it looks after a month or so of towing. For comparison, I did the install of a baseplate (my first install oaf a base plate ever) on my Wrangler in 5 hours all in with wiring included, but not including the AF1 components. This one took me about 12 hours mostly because of the too tight fit which mandated removing and reinstalling the baseplate a few times to see what needed trimmed, needing removal of the louvers (I really didn’t want to do that…but in the end no other solution would have worked because if i shimmed the plate out to clear the louvers, I would have had to cut out most of the lower grill to accommodate that), and then having to trim the grill pieces to get it to o back together. This was not a hard install, just a lot of trial and fails…at least in the end it fit together. Maybe I was working slowly…but it really did not just fit right out of the box even knowing about the air dam trimming needed.

Purchased this for my 2024 Buick Encore GX. I use a Demco Commander tow bar. Waited several weeks to receive it as eTrailer was out of stock. Was well packaged. Appears well made. Read instructions, they were vague in some spots and more photos would have been helpful. I had it installed by my trusted local mechanic. He advised that some of the photos in the instructions were off of an entirely different vehicle. The two side plates did not fit well and needed to be pursued to bolt up. Haven’t hooked it all up yet, we’ll see.

by:

Base plate fits good, does require some trimming like it says in the instructions. Mine was missing 2 required clips. I emailed about the problem and got a call back to confirm which clips were needed and they were shipped out free of any charges. This was some of the best customer service I’ve had. Definitely will use e trailer again, thank you!

by:

Instructions are excellent. And thank you for the rapid delivery.

by:

Good price for exactly what I needed. Delivered in less than 2 days… no hassles! Great service!

  • Demco vs. etrailer Base Plate For 2024 Ford Maverick
You have a good eye Richard, as there is not a difference between the etrailer and Demco base plates that fit your 2024 Ford Maverick: - etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit e64FV (discontinued) - Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV Both will fit your '24 Maverick and work exactly the same way so there honestly is not a difference. You will also need other components to flat tow your Maverick which I'll go ahead and list out for you, and keep in mind the tow bar will work with either...

  • Tow Bar Wiring for 2023 Ford Maverick
There aren't as many custom fit flat towing wiring harnesses for vehicles like there is for trailer wiring so what that means is that for your 2023 Ford Maverick there are only kits that require wiring like the Roadmaster diode kit part # RM-15267. The Demco base plate kits like the # DM77YV does fit Blue Ox tow bars without requiring and adapters. You would need to use the Brake Lite Relay part # RM-88400 with the Blue Ox Patriot that you have.

  • Does The Demco Baseplate # DM77YV Require That You Trim The Air Shutters/Dam On A Ford Maverick
The instructions for the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV are being added to page but I'll also send them to you separately. In the instructions they only show that the air dam needs a chunk cut out and that the shutters would remain. The Demco baseplate has a bit more of a slant outwards compared the the Roadmaster # RM97RR so you shouldn't need to trim out as much of the air shutters/dam during the installation.

  • Do You Have to Cut Front Fascia of 2024 Ford Maverick to Install Demco Base Plates to Flat Tow
Hey Carl, thanks for writing in, and that's a good question. Thankfully, the answer is no, you do not need to cut or trim the fascia/face plate on a 2024 Ford Maverick to install the Demco base plate that fits, which is the following part number: - Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV This base plate was designed for the arms to use the openings already on the front fascia which is why no fascia cutting is required. And that's great because nobody wants to do any extra cutting of their...

  • Is There An Installation Video For The Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV On 2024 Ford Maverick?
While we do not have a installation video for the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV, we do have a video for the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM97RR which is very similar. I have linked the installation video near the bottom of the page and it is on a 2023 Ford Maverick as we have not have a 2024 model year in our shop yet for any of our base plates. There is quite a bit of parts that will need to be cut out as you can see in the installation video. That is something depending...

  • Adapter Needed To Connect A Blue Ox Aventa LX Tow Bar To A Demco Tabless Baseplate
Yes, the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV has been confirmed to fit the 2024 Ford Maverick. To connect to your Blue Ox Aventa LX tow bar you'll need an adapter # DM9523127, which will replace the mounting points on your tow bar. I've attached a video below where Rob will walk you through switching out to the new adapter. **Update** the adapter is no longer needed in order to connect the Demco Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV to a Blue Ox Aventa LX Tow Bar.

  • Do You Have To Drill Holes To Attach The Wiring Plug Mount In The Demco Base Plate Kit For a 2023 Fo
Yes, you will have to drill holes in your lower fascia to attach the plug mount that is included with the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV. This is a main reason I prefer to use the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # RM97RR as they include mounts on their base plate for the wiring/plug mount. There is also a connection for a breakaway cable that comes with a Braking System # SM99251. If you already have a Demco tow bar we do have the Adapter # DM9523032 you can use to mount to...

  • Differences Between the Demco & Roadmaster Base Plate Kit for a 2024 Ford Maverick
The main difference between the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV and the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM97RR is just going to be the brand really. They're both very similar in the way they install, with Roadmaster being a bit more challenging requiring some trimming on certain models, they both have a removable drawbar, and they both use a direct connect style attachment. If it were me I'd go Roadmaster just for the fact that they've been consistently a household...

  • Comparing Roadmaster, Blue Ox, and Demco Base Plate Kits for 2024 Ford Maverick
Hey Donziman, so we have three different options for base plate kits that fit your 2024 Ford Maverick. We have the Roadmaster # RM97RR, the Demco # DM77YV, and the Blue Ox # BLU88XR. We don't have an etrailer base plate kit available but (spoiler alert) the etrailer brand kit is exact same as the Demco. So my favorite brand to use is the Blue Ox so that is what I would go with. The kits are really well made but the they just happen to be the easiest to connect to the Blue Ox tow bars like...

Hey Robert, I spoke with both Ryan and Jake (installers here at etrailer) since they've both installed the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV. Both Brad and Jake stated it's tough on the Mavericks and that they either drilled a self-tapping screw through into the fascia or used a no-drill mount # 18136. If you go with the no-drill mount then you can use the provided hose clamp to secure the bracket to the crosstube of the baseplate and then slot it through the fascia. Jake said that...

  • Are Air Dam Louvers Removed for Roadmaster Base Plate Installation on a 2024 Ford Maverick
Hey Bruce, thanks for reaching out! The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Ki # RM97RR does require excessive trimming of the air dam system so you won't be able to install the louvers back onto your 2024 Ford Maverick. If you really like that feature then you'll want to go with the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV instead. They designed their kit to sit out a little further so you won't be doing nearly as much trimming for the Demco install.
