Purchased this hitch as a companion for our Reese anti sway control. The small ball for the Reese sway control fits in the bracket and the 2” drop on the hitch is exactly what we needed to have our Jayco camper level when towing.

Continues to work perfect in conjunction with my Reese friction sway control

by:

I cannot use this ball mount because the shaft is too short that goes into hitch receiver on my one ton Dodge truck. It does not allow enough room between truck back bumper and ball to allow any trailer tongue to be put on ball.

COULD NOT USE THE ITEM!!!!!!!

I purchased this for use with a friction anti sway device I installed on an enclosed V nose trailer. It worked well.

Have not yet used it as I just got to install the hitch today.

My new hitch is working out great especially with the sway bar ball mount. So you dont have to get one welded onto your new hitch!

My wife is a member of "Sisters On The Fly" with four vintage trailers, so I have been a frequent customer of etrailer. I have never failed to get excellent customer service and top of the line products.

by:

The ball mount was a complete failure even after a lengthy discussion on the phone. I wanted a ball mount that would accept the rocker ball and anti-sway bar. The bar sent to me can't be used this way. An email and phone message to the sales person I ordered with, got no response.

I am sorry the parts didnt work out like you were hoping. I will have our customer service team reach out to you about this quickly!

by:

I ordered and received the ball mount and sway bar together. They were received very promptly and in excellent shape. They are very heavy, i.e., heavy duty. The bracket that was fitted to the trailer was about half a screw wider than optimal size for my smallish trailer but did fit. Installation was easy. The self-tapping screws functioned well. All-in-all, a 10 out of 10 experience.

Great. No problems after a year.

We have looked for this tow hitch with sway bar ball, then we saw yours. It fit perfect. Will work great with towing our 13 foot camping trailer. I am a happy customer , And for your quick service, that was great. Thank you.

made a 4500 mile trip this summer worked great no prolbems at all

by:

Works great so far, I had some difficulty mounting the ball plate on trailer frame. Make sure to mark holes with a punch and use a new drill bit.

by:

This is the package that I received and I was very disappointed in the condition that I received it . But the unit it self was quiet nice and looks like it will work very fine for my use !

by:

This process simply could not have been simpler. It shipped the same day I ordered it and it was in my mailbox a day and a half later The video instructions as well as the print instructions were clear and concise and easy to follow. Both products were quality items, what you'd expect fro etrailer.com, and I would highly recommend this site for quick shipments and high quality products.

It worked okay, but ultimately I had to go another direction.

by:

It was delivered quickly. The price was excellent. I've owned this product before and it was stolen off my truck. I use it to pull a ultra lite 21foot trailer. The hitch and stabilizer bar work well together. I really like this product.

by:

Meriah also found this ball mount (with sway control plate) that is also rated at 7500lbs to match my class 5 hitch rating - this ball mount simplified attaching sway control from trailer frame

by:

This hitch has worked great for the Curt friction sway control for my pop-up camper. I tow with a Honda Ridgeline and this fits perfect and works as it should. I would recommend this to others.

by:

The Curt ball mount with sway control bracket appears to be a great quality product. It will not be used until May of 2015 when we pick up our new travel trailer. I am sure it will get the job done.

by:

I received my products in a timely manner. All my products were packaged great and nothing was missing. This is one of the best websites I have seen for the explanation of products. They have short videos of nearly all products, so you know exactly what you are buying. I will recommend etrailer.com to anyone. They are very good keeping you updated on when your products will arrive. A very good experience. Thank you etrailer.com.

by:

Used this hitch connected to pop-up trailer with single anti-sway bar. Works great, no trailer sway in high winds or 75 mph.

by:

Worked wonders with the small toyhaler camper I have went into the mountains and even had a blowout on the haler with the sway control tab held up great

by:

Great product. Use this with sway bar rather than heavy hitch with load leveler attachments. I don't need levelers with my ultra lite camper. Super quick to ship!!

by:

I haven't actually put this product to use, yet, but it seems to be very well made with clean strong welds. Nice and heavy, and arrived looking like it was just made. And it's made in the USA!!! No Chinese steel. This will work perfectly with my sway control bar and hitch.

by:

Item was as described and shipped very fast. I have not towed with it yet but see no problem. The shank (insert) part seemed slightly short to me. It was shorter that others I have. My trailer has an electric lift and I was concerned it might not clear the lift gate on the Jeep if it was too close. Worked out perfect though. Just something to thing about next time.

by:

I trust Curt products and this exceeded my expectations. Also you can't find any better customer service than etrailer.com on the web. Fast shipping too.

by:

Very prompt service and delivery. Ready to get this on the truck and start pulling the new camper!

  • Availability Of a Ball Mount With Friction Sway Control Tab Rated For 10,000LBS
You do have a couple options but the Curt Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab # D320 is not available in a 10K weight capacity. You can use the similar Curt Ball Mount # C45310 rated for 10,000lbs and weld on a Sway Control Tab # C45822. We do also have the Bolt On Bracket # RP26003 but his has a 1" hole versus the 1-1/4" hole on the ball mount. So you will either need to drill the hole larger or use a 2-5/16" Ball # C40007 and Reducer Bushing # F-2. Then you will be able to mount the Friction...

The Curt Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab # D320 will allow for a 1" ball mount on the main ball mount. The side tab accepts a Curt Sway Control Hitch Ball # C40093. This shank diameter is 5/8" and the ball is 1-1/4". The 1-1/4" sway ball is not designed to hold a vertical load, instead it is designed to use a Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200. This will help to reduce sway that occurs on larger trailers.

The ball you're referencing on your trailer tongue is most likely the one that would come with a friction sway control bar like the Curt Friction Sway Control for Weight Distribution Systems # 17200. I'm assuming you most likely don't experience a lot of sag since you're towing a pop-up so a simply friction sway control bar would most likely be the solution you need without overdoing it. The # 17200 comes with the tab to weld onto your ball mount for the sway control to connect to but...

  • Where to Measure to Determine Correct Rise/Drop for Ball Mount
Since there aren't any zero rise/drop ball mount options (shockingly) you might verify that your setup was measured in the right spots. You'd want to measure from the bottom of the coupler lip down to the ground when the trailer is level and then from the top of your hitch opening down to the ground. The part # D320 has a drop of 2 inches and comes with the tab needed for friction sway control. This probably would be close enough to what you'd need.

I can recommend the Draw-Tite # 76183 standard Class-III hitch paired with a Curt # 17200 Sway Bar.
