Hello, everybody This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CE Smith 3 1/2 Inch Long Shackle Bolt with the Lock Nuts for a quantity of two. Now these are 9/16 diameter shackle bolts. These are used to mount your leaf spring to the spring hanger bracket or the equalizers. It is a fluted shank right here that keeps the bolt from turning in the bracket and wearing the bracket out. It is a grade 5 steel bolt.

It is for a quantity of two, and it does include the lock nuts to secure the bolt in place. A few specs on this again. We mentioned diameter 9/16 inch. The length, which is always measured from under the bolt head, is right at 3 1/2 inches long, and the threads is 18 threads per inch. But that's gonna do it for a look at the CE Smith 3 1/2 Inch Long Shackle Bolts with the Lock Nuts.

  • Should Bolt Hole On Leaf Spring Hanger Be Larger Than Shackle Bolt
    Hey Paul; it looks like the bolt hole has been elongated/enlarged from use over time. This is something that can happen from standard suspension wear. It should match the 9/16" bolt. With the hole being that large I would say it is time to replace the hangers before the hanger, or something else, fails from all the extra unwanted movement. You want to stick with the same height for hangers so you will need to measure to find a replacement. The height is the distance from the center of...
