It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

by:

Was able to position the hitch where I wanted on a chassis cab and it works great.

by:

works as it should still a year latter

It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

Extremely high quality product, very happy with my purchase. Shipped quickly, I received it before the estimated time. One more side note, the shipping box was damaged while in route, (Not etrailer's fault) but because they did a great job packing it, everything was still in the box even though half of one side was torn off the box. I will defiantly be a repeat customer!!

by:

Very happy with this hitch. The size of the end plates matched the frame on our old truck and with the class V weight rating, our old truck can do a few other things around the farm now. Thank you.

by:

Perfect fit on my 2009 blue bird

by:

Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

Fast shipping

by:

I think you guys should send me some ap parel!

by:

Exactly what we wanted. Worked perfect on our recent, extended trip to Alaska and back.

by:

Solid as stone!!

by:

I welded this up on my 2004 GMC converted school bus, it worked great with minimal bumper notching

by:

This hitch was exactly what was needed for my landscaping customer's small dump body truck. It replaced the original custom hitch with only minor modifications to accommodate the cargo body. I have done considerable work for this customer over many years. No issues reported with this job. All good!! Thanks to Curt and etrailer for great products and stellar service. —

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2017 Windsport RV on a Ford F-53 Chassis
With your Ford F-53 chassis under your 2017 Windsport you will need to use a receiver like the Curt Weld-On # C99CR. The F-53 and F-550 frames are different and do not use the same mounting holes. There is not a custom fit receiver for the F-53 as the chassis can be modified by the RV manufacturer and would require different options for different RVs. Be sure to verify your exact tow rating as well as the F-53 is rated much lower than the F-550. If you attempted to install the Curt # C15445...

The other option would be to use one of the universal Class V hitches we have listed for your motorhome. We have the Curt # C47CR with a 9" drop and the Curt # C99CR with an 18" drop. We have a couple options for a heavy-duty Class V hitch, and while there is not a custom-fit option for your Thor Challenger motorhome on a Ford F-53 chassis, you can still add a weld-on hitch. From my research, the rear frame on the F-53 chassis is 34 inches from outside to outside, but you'll need to measure the distance you need from the bottom of the frame to the top of the receiver.
