Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the Curt gooseneck flat plate. This is a ready to install Curt gooseneck flat plate. It includes the high strength steel plate, the two and five sixteenths ball that's rated at 30,000 pounds, and the two D rings for your safety chain attachment. Now, the two and five sixteenths trailer ball fits all standard gooseneck trailers. This is a permanently attached ball, which eliminates theft and loss. The plate is constructed of a high strength steel, and it's protected by a highly durable carbide powdered coat finish.
A few measurements on this plate. Overall length of it is right at 48 inches. The width on it is gonna be right at 13 inches. And the thickness is right at three eighths of an inch thick. Now this plate features these two welded forged D rings for secure safety chain attachment.
Inside measurements on the D ring, the width is right at three inches. Overall height is two and a half inches.Now to install this, they do recommend you use six, five eighth inch diameter grade five bolts to fasten this plate to your truck frame. The gross load capacity when used as a weight carrying hitch is 30,000 pounds, 6,000 tongue weight capacity, and over bed reinforcement is required to reach that maximum gross trailer weight rating. And one last note, your gooseneck hitch weight rating will be limited to the vehicle manufacture stated capacities.But that should do it for the review on the Curt gooseneck flat plate.

Overall good product. I added 2 pieces of 2x2 (¼" thick) angle iron to the back of the base plate to stiffen up the plate more. I've used it on a 3500 dually pulling fully loaded dumpster trailers with no issues at all.
The box they shipped it in was pretty much destroyed. Several holes in it. Need a smaller box or better packing material than just paper. Plate is warped a little in the middle from the welding of the gooseball plate.
The Curt Gooeneck Flat Plate hitch is very well constructed with an excellent finish. The ordering process was very easy and was great to connect with a representative to answer my questions before ordering. I am very happy with this purchase.
This hitch is a very good hitch I use it on a dailey basis and if properly greased I believe it will last me for many more years. Thanks Curt
