Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your factory tow package wiring harness. It is designed to tee into the back of your existing 7-way connector at the rear of your vehicle. Your 7-way trailer connecter will retain its functionality.
Once installation is complete, the 5-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 5-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Easy to hook up myself.
Product was as advertised, and installation took about 15 minutes. Slight delay because I had a 5th wheel wiring harness already piggybacked in place. This adapter saved me hours or wiring a new plug.

Had problems with plugs reverse connection. I could not back my trailer up as there wasnt current to the reverse solenoid. After hours of trying to figure out why, I took the harness out and discovered that it was assembled incorrectly. I fixed the wire locations and now it works. Giving it 1 star now as it cost me half a day.Poor quality inspection.Steve A.,
I've ordered from etrailer a number of times before. Their descriptions of the equipment, in this case a 7 pin to 5 pin T , is very clear and avoids disappointment. This was the exact adapter I needed. I've had quick shipping and no regrets.
I'm using the adapter to add an LED stop/backup strip to my 2020 RAM 1500. The 5 pins are needed to pickup the backup lights. I could have tapped into the backup lights but the new electronics in the truck would notice the additional current draw. The 7 pin harness has the signals needed and the electronics monitoring the trailer signals is tolerant of different loads.
My 2001 Silverado factory tow package didn't include the 4 pin plug. Not that its needed often but I wanted to install an LED tailgate light bar and didn't want to tap into wires as they can corrode here in Ohio. Purchased this and its perfect. Nice, tight fit to keep water out of the plugs, and has plenty of wire to reach anywhere it would be needed. Now my LED bar can just plug in! Awesome product and super simple to install in seconds. Thank guys!

Two years now and its still working as well as it did the day I installed it!
This was the second one of this product that I purchased. Both worked exactly as intended with very easy installation. I saw a previous review that said they had to do some rewiring, I believe their trailer was not wired correctly as both of the products I purchased worked immediately. I would not hesitate to buy this again the next time I accidentally rip it off my truck.
The product I got for didn’t last two months. But the wiring harness I picked up from y’all was the right thing and work very well it’s still installed on the vehicle
Made a nice clean installation. Now I can use factory bumper outlet for My slide-in camper and the new 5-way flat connector for my boat trailer!

Fit our 2017 Tacoma (with factory tow hitch) perfectly. Now we have 4-flat (factory), 5-flat (this "T" from Curt/etrailer), and 7-round (factory).
Easy to install and worked first time, seems well made and should last. Now I can stop using the adapter for my boat trailer and just plug straight in.
Plugs in perfectly to the factory harness without having to splice into the wiring. Exactly what I needed and verunning pleased with everyone at the Etrailer family. Definitely will order from them again in the future!
This harness provided me with the ability to do some add ons. Without cutting up my original harness. Awesome parts . And great follow up. Very much appreciated!

That will fit your vehicle if you have the factory connector. If you do not have that connector then part # HM40655 is what you would need.
no need to cut into factory wiring. saved time

It made hooking my tailgate led light bar an easy install
I used the this item to "tap" into the light system for a under the tail gate LED strip, worked great and keeps the connections clean and user friendly.
