Kit has everything I need to set up an electric brake controller on my 1992 W250. Installation instructions were clear and concise. Great product at a fair price.

I called e trailer to make sure I purchase the right wiring kit for my Ford E150.
The person on the phone spends 40 minutes with me to find out what I need. I explained my situation what parts I have and what I need. She ordered for me the parts. The Brakecontroller came and looks fine but this wiring kit she had send me does not work at all. the 10 gauge wire is to short. Ones again I Called Etrailer, and all I got as an answer is I can send it back or extend the wire. now I am stuck with a wiring kit for 40 something dollar what I have to extend and spend time to find the wire at a store. Very poor customer service and it looks like they don't know their product. I am very disappointed.

This is not a review of the product.

The
service was excellent. Since I had been sent the wrong cabling etrailer was very helpful in getting me the information necessary for me to return the parts I did not and to make sure I obtained the proper product in a timely manner.

Good work and thanks - Alan

All is well with your equipment and the trailer it was installed on Nothing new to add*

by:

etrailer products and service are excellent! With their helpful videos and staff (plus a little help from Curt Manufacturing and our teardrop trailer manufacturer (CampInn)) I was able to install electric brakes on the trailer, and a controller in my vehicle by myself. I had never installed electric brakes before. Everything works perfectly!

by:

The wiring cable that is supposed to come from the back is not long enough, this product is misleading to be used to connect the brake controller.

It really depends on the vehicle the controller is being installed on, which is why we point out the length of each piece of wire in the description. 20 feet is enough for most SUVs and trucks, but a large cargo van or trucks with 4 doors and an 8 foot bed may need more.

by:

The black/white bundled wire was not long enough for my 2015 Honda Fit, had to purchase another 8 feet to cover the length from back to front. Blue wire is longer and the instructions expect you will use it for the brake controller. This is certainly long enough at 20 ft but the 10ft wire is insufficient. Should have given you 20ft a piece for each.

by:

Duplex wire isn't long enough for a 2022 Toyota Highlander. Save yourself the hassle I had and just spend the extra money on item # ETBC7. The connectors are cheap so upgrade those. You'll probably need more zip ties than included.

by:

The quality of the wiring and connectors was very good. I experienced no problems with the connections or material. They functioned as intended and for the purpose I needed.

by:

Excellent company.
shipping was FAST!

and everything that was shipped was exactly as I ordered it.
everything worked and hooked up great.
Also they have great resources, such as wiring diagrams and install vids to help with assembly!
I strongly recommend this company for anyone doing work on their own trailer.

by:

product arrived quickly and was just what it said it was; and just what I needed to wire in my brake controller. Worked great.

by:

Great product and you can't beat etrailer.com's prices and fast shipping.

by:

Great kit for electric brake install!

  • What Parts Do I Need To Upgrade My 4 Flat To A 7 Way Connector And Use A Wireless Brake Controller?
It sounds like you are definitely on the right track here. You would plug the Adapter # C57672 into the existing 4 flat plug. Then the Kit # C51500 contains the rest of the wires you will need to run to upgrade to a 7 way. From there you will be ready to plug in and use a wireless brake controller like the # C51180. Since the Curt echo works off of the vehicles brake lights, technically you would only need to connect the 12v wire to the 7 way plug in order to use it. The additional wires...

  • Compatible Tow Wiring and Brake Controller for 2013 Toyota Highlander
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118449 is a great fit for your 2013 Toyota Highlander. Then you can use the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole w/Test Lamps # C57674 you referenced along with the Wiring Kit # C51500. This will work with the Curt Echo # C51180 you referenced. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13534 is a custom fit for your vehicle so these parts all will work well but I also recommend using the # 18140...

  • How To Install Electric Trailer Brake Controller On 2020 Ford Transit T350
I do have trailer brake controller options for a 2020 Ford Transit T350 but there are no trailer brake controller wiring provisions. Therefore, you must hardwire the controller which involves running wires from the battery to the cab and then from the cab to the trailer connector. We offer kits for this exact purpose like the Curt Universal Wiring Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers part # C51500. This will then allow you to install any standard trailer brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro...

  • Curt Brake Controller Wiring C51500 vs. DrawTite 5506 for Wiring Up Brake Controller
You are on the right track for installing your brake controller in your 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The part # 5506 does include more than you would need if you aren't making the 12 volt circuit complete so instead the Curt part # C51500 would be all that you need. The # 5506 would be the kit to use if you needed the 12 volt circuit.

  • How to Install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on a 2017 Audi Q7
Since you said that your hitch, drawbar, and 7-Way connector were all factory installed the best scenario would be if there was some wiring under the driver's side dash of your 2017 Audi Q7 that you simply splice the 4 wires of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 to. If this is the case, you will simply splice the following colors to the correct functions: White - Ground Black - 12V Power Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake is pressed) Blue - Brake Controller Signal...

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Towing Offroad Trailer
For a brake controller for your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited you have a couple options for towing your off road trailer. If the majority of the roads you plan on traveling will be similar to most public roads I would go with a proportional brake controller. The one I would recommend would be the Prodigy P2 # 90885. This controller has the most flexibility in how it can be mounted. If the majority of the areas you plan on taking your trailer will be slow speed areas with odd angles then...

  • Brake Controller and Install Kit Recommendation for 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon with 7-Way
Since you already have a 7-way on your 2016 Subaru Outback wagon the correct brake controller install kit you would need is the part # C51500 as it is basically the ETBC7 without the 7-way. This comes with the wiring for the controller to power it and connect it to the 7-way. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake...

You will want to ensure that you keep the wiring away from any moving parts (like hinges and door) to make sure the wires do not get damage.
