Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.This is my third hitch mount from etrailer for various cars/trucks I've owned. Quality is top-notch and instruction videos were very thorough. They also bolstered the packaging in response to some other reviews I saw where the box was damaged in shipping. Mine arrived in perfect condition. Special thanks to the other reviewers who suggested simply unbolting the muffler rather than dropping the entire exhaust and the ones who zip-tied the hitch to a floor jack for raising it into place. Just use 2+ zips if you do or the ties might break while you're raising it like mine lol.
Less than 3 hours from start to finish. I probably spent more time with setup/cleanup/and waiting for paint to dry on the frame holes I ground out than anything else.
Arrived two days late and in rough shape. The box was destroyed and a half-baked effort was made to repair it (or possibly was shipped in a used box?). It's a miracle the wiring harness stayed inside (that plastic package was crushed too). Hope your luck is better.
I would to say I’m very impressed with your company and how easy it was to order and it was at my door in 3 days. You’re doing a great job with all the emails I got keeping me informed about my order. My hitch was not damaged in any way and the box as well. Tell your staff thanks for the work they did to complete my order. I will recommend to anyone to always order from your website.
The box was damaged and I won’t know if the hitch was affected until it is installed later this week.

So far so good
Completely satisfied! I purchased the hitch myself and had a trailer company install it. By doing so I saved $100. I did the wiring myself since most of the wiring in my car had been preinstalled. This hitch from E-trailer is the 5th one I have ordered.
I had a friend help with the install the hitch receiver on my 2023 Subaru Forester and it went great. No issues at all. Took us about an hour and 40 minutes. We had the car on jack stands. The hardest part was getting up and getting under the car. We are old fat guys. LOL. Looks good, and works great. I do recommend etrailer products.

No issues with the Curt trailer hitch. I have been using it for about a year, and it has been wonderful to have on my car. No problems. I recommend this product from etrailer.
Just received the hitch and wiring harness for my 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness. Very excited about getting it installed. Ironic thing……… I saved over $700 by going with. ETrailer rather then getting the factory installed when I bought the car. And, the tongue weight was nearly double. Hmmmmm Thanks ETrailer, your a great resource for us “shade tree mechanics”.

Etrailer is my Go-To online shop for anything Trailer or Cargo related. They have great prices, fast shipping, and great videos showing us the installation process. As for this product, Curt always makes great Hitches and they never disappoint. For home installers, use a floor jack to lift and hold the Hitch in place while you bolt the rack.
One of the best hitches I've had, the ease of the installation and the instructions were excellent
This was easy to install on our 2023 Forester, thanks to the hardware that comes with the kit. Highly recommended.
Both the website and your customer service staff were very helpful in getting this item ordered and received. It arrived as promised and I just had it installed on the vehicle this week.
One thing that might have been helpful, would be some documentation on those vehicle components that needed to be removed and customized for reinstallation. For example, heat and under-body corrosion shields. That information is mentioned in the website video but the installation garages are unlikely to look at those resources. A printed addendum would be most helpful.
Got this for my subaru forester wilderness. Installation video made it easy to install, easy to follow steps. I liked the fact that I didn't have to cut my bumper for this hitch compared to others. Looks great. Haven't had a chance to use it yet so will update on that later. This is my third purchase from etrailer and everything has been delivered promptly and well packaged. Would recommend to anyone
Like a lot of people on here the part came with parts exposed sticking out of box and missing powder coating I mean come on you don't have to cover the whole thing in foam just the parts that are sharp that push through the cardboard box I don't know if this is a etrailer problem or Curt but bare metal tends to rust and black paint doesn't cut it , But shipping was fast
The installation was easy, about an hour total. I've been pulling a kayak trailer every week the weather has been nice and everything has been fine. I couldn't be happier overall. Additionally , I like the look of how it's recessed under the bumper, it's barely noticeable without the hitch installed.
Easy to install. Does the job. The box arrived a bit banged up but ultimately did not impact the hitch. Was a few bucks cheaper than other vendors, and I felt far more comfortable knowing there was a team committed to providing solid customer service just in case things went awry. If you're *thinking* of buying it, just do it - and get it from this site.
Hitch receiver arrived quickly and without damage. The etrailer videos are very helpful. Successfully installed on 2020 Subaru. Took longer than expected due to my available tools (particularly needing to have a metal grinding dremel bit to widen the access hole on the frame). But overall straightforward. Tip: leave the fishing wires on the bolts (all 6 of them) for the next steps after you get your carriage bolts seated. Had to put them all back on. Very helpful to have another person hold the hitch receiver up when bolting it on.
Very happy with the quality of the hitch, instructions, and ease of installation. Note - you will need a drill or diegrinder or file to increase the diameter of a hole in the frame to insert the bolts. Otherwise this was actually a very straight forward install on the Forester and greatly exceeds the specs of the OEM hitch. Thanks for selling great products and excellent installation videos to help make it easy and clear how to attach to my vehicle.
Very smooth installation , walk through was spot on and tools recommended are correct as well .
Terrible product when it comes damaged due to poor packaging such as no protective foam on a 40 pound item bouncing around in a cardboard box. Sent out a replacement and it was worse than the original. It was packaged in a used box using only tape that came with more holes than the original one. The original resolution from customer service was for me to repair it, they would send paint to me or a $[XX] credit. I opted to give them another shot with a “new” one and the second one was worse, see pictures for yourself.
Installed on 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness - a little more difficult than the one I installed on our Crosstrek. Watch the install video, it is very good and details all the necessary steps required to get the trailer hitch receiver on the vehicle. Great customer service.

Yes - working great - was fairly easy to install, just needed to muffler down a little to get into place
Hitch looks amazing on my Subaru Forester. It tucks in close to the bottom of the bumper and doesn't stick out past the back of the bumper like some that cause a tripping hazard. It came with instructions that were easy to follow and installation was a snap.

Fit like a glove. Exhaust on my 22 Forester Touring was slightly different shape from installation video but it still went in with the same instructions. You need 2 people (or an exhaust stand) for lifting it into place for bolting it onto the frame. Also, there's no need to completely remove the plastic cover on the driver's side; just remove the 3 screws that are easy to reach and move it out of the way temporarily during the hitch bolt-on step.

After a year of light use, this hitch still looks new and is secure as new. Im glad I used touch-up paint on the enlarged frame mounting holes because we have lots of rain, and rust would probably have formed.

Worked great on my 2023 Subaru Forester
Perfect fit for the 2021 Subaru Forester. Watched the installation video several times and then got to work installing it. No issues at all. We use the Thule 2-Bike Rack on it and it handles it easily.

My hitch works great Im very happy with it.
