Thank you E trailer and you deserve more than 5 stars for stellar products and customer service I'm with my second E trailer product and thank you Kimberly for your efforts to put this most recent project together and after speaking with you only a couple of days ago My request has already arrived so now I have another Kurt hitch to install

hitch install went really well, bolts were correct, hitch was very well made. thanks for good products, fast shipping, etc.

I am so happy with the hitch. Kim( Kimberley R) helped me so very much. I’m a grandma in 70’s and needed the right product that was easy for me to use. And I am she was great. Answered all of my questions. I was very worried about putting something on my Kia Soul and this is perfect. I have already told people about etrailer.com.

Great

Hitch is easy to put on using the specific vehicle instructions sent with the hitch. I do recommend a ratcheting wrench for the bolt on the Drivers side top. Took less then 30 minutes doing it myself in my driveway on a set of car ramps. One other person to help hold it up in place would make it even faster. I highly recommend this product!! Be sure to order the Item # 3594 Draw-Tite Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitches - 4" Rise - 10" Long - 2,000 lbs to use with this for the 2019 Kia Soul Plus. It provides the perfect distance and height for a small trailer. :)

This hitch is a beast! Over 32lbs. of richly painted thick steel.

Because of the weight, it took a little longer to install by myself while laying on my back. I used a stack of 2x6 boards to hold the hitch up in place so I could insert the bolts.

The hitch fits nicely up under the car; perfect fit for my 2017 Soul+. I don't have to worry about it hanging low and catching on packed snow/ice in the winter.

Added the Swagman XC-2 bike rack. Holds my two mountain bikes very securely.

Nice combo. I highly recommend both.

by:
2018 Ford Flex

I was going to video my installation, but it was done before I knew it! The hitch fit perfectly as others had stated. Drop the muffler down by releasing it from hanger, remove the 4 Plastic clips on the underside of bumper so you can flex it for ease of bolt access. You’ll need some WD-40 or Similar product, 18 mm box or ratchet style wrench,18mm socket & ratchet. Make sure to tighten all the bolts up equally from side to side until they’re seated before final torquing

by:
2019 Kia Soul

I’m like a one arm paper hanger because I got a steel ball in my left shoulder that don’t work great .
I blocked the the hitch up with 2 X 4’s and I also had a jack on wheels that helped. Everything lined up and all the bolts went in great . I did have some trouble when it came to cranking down the bolts down good but that’s was due to a bad arm .
I’m pushing 78 come May so if I can do it anyone can .

by:

After a year, this hitch is still working great. Though it was a bit of a pain to get on there, it doesn't seem like it's going to budge at all! I use it with a Swagman XC bike rack with two somewhat large mountain bikes and haven't had a single problem yet.

by:

Not difficult to install with the correct tools. It's now one year later and it's still well and good.

How has it been already a year with my hitch? It is still on my car and working great! Since you asked how it is, I thought about it a bit: Im not sure if there was this option for my make and model vehicle at the time I purchased, but I wish had bought a larger opening because it seems to be the way current products that I use the hitch for are sized. Overall, it does what I need it to do very nicely and has remained in good shapeno rust.

Is great we use it to pull our popup ca mper.

Aside from a hardware issue, the part arrived intact, minimal shipping abrasion and ready to install. I installed the receiver on a 2015 Kia Soul 1.6 base model. I don’t intend to tow but the hitch actually doubles as a rear stabilizer bar. It took out a lot of the lean you feel when you turn.
I followed the instructions and used a hydraulic jack to hold the hitch in place while inserting at least two bolts.
It helps a lot to loosen/remove the fender wheel well
and mud flaps. The fuel cover box must be loosened to allow your tool to access the bolts. Use of a torque wrench on the driver side will be hard. Use of a long handled box wrench is key. Passenger side will be torqued easily.
I pre-lubed the factory thread holes and cleaned them out with a pipe cleaner. Then lightly installed a bolt into each threaded hole to ensure efficiency. Lastly I used car ramps and removed both rear wheels for ease of work…..car was up on jack stands so room was not an issue. Lastly, be patient…..will save your knuckles and stress level.

Needed a hitch to tow my new boat. My soul is still under warranty, and my concerns were adding after market products, and voiding warranty. Especially when it comes to wiring and adding electrical.......needed a solid, no cut and splice system!!
My experience on this site was more than sufficiently informative. I found the photos of installed products to be amazing. Rarely do you get so many angles and actually see what it will be after installation. I did not have to remove or loosen any parts to install the hitch. Could have to ease the process, but found it possible without doing so. Install time,( without any drilling as stated), was about thirty minutes. Barely had time to drink one beer!!
Also purchased the wiring harness offered by CURT, and needed to remove a few parts. Virtually a plug and play, no cutting or splicing wires. Works as stated. My only issue, was the Curt stinger I purchased with the 5" rise. Some poor craftsmanship on the weld, as it is off center and twists slightly to the right. It will work just fine......I'm just a perfectionist when it comes to building and fabricating.
My overall experience was excellent, and I would recommend this e trailer to my friends any time. Shipping was cheap, and right on time.......to the point that I knew exactly when to set a time for the install. Thanks you guy's, for once a co. that delivers, and has the moxy to follow up after the sale.
I will be back as a very happy, and satisfied customer for other product needs!!

I still have been using the hitch, with no issues, and have added a single place small trailer that hauls my 2017 WR450 YAMAHA, and tow that bike with confidence of this product. The hitch still looks new, bolts are all tight, and it made my KIA Soul versatile for light towing......couldnt be more satisfied!!

I was surprised how fast you got my order out to me. I thought my shop was the only one who put the customer first! The shipping info was great and I knew exactly when it would get to my shop. UPS brought it this morning and within 1 hour the trailer hitch was on my Kia Soul. Since I own a small auto repair shop it was a breeze to mount. (So easy even a Ford owner could mount it!) Great doing business with a company who cares! Thanks!!!

The hitch is fine but I found that to pull or carry anything like a bike rack for my ebike a Class 2 hitch is really needed. So basically it hasn't been useful and a waste of money. i should have known this ahead of time. It would have been nice if a class 2 was offered here for my vehicle.

I do see that the hitch you purchased through us has 200 lbs Tongue weight and 2000 lbs Gross Tow Weight. How much weight are you carrying on this hitch? Unfortunately, there are no options for a Class II hitch for your 2017 Kia Soul. We do, however, carry a hitch that will fit your vehicle that has a Tongue Weight of 300 lbs, and a Gross Towing Weight of 2000 lbs part # 306-X7326.

My electric bike is roughly 70 lbs. the rack systems out there Thule and Hollywood specify a class 2 hitch because the rack itself is heavy combined with the e-bike. I should have researched it more ahead of time. I just didn’t know there were classes of hitches and the requirements.

I have looked into both of the racks you are interested in. It will depend solely on how heavy your ebikes are however, I would recommend the Easyfold of the two you are looking at. For the Easyfold [part # TH903202], it will hold up to 65 lbs per bike [two bikes max] and the carrier itself is only 45 lbs. This carrier is also rated for the Class I hitches, so you should have no complications with using this carrier, depending on how heavy your bikes are. While the Sport Rider [part # HLY74FR] is rated only for class II and up. It will hold up to 80 lbs per bike [two bikes max] and the carrier itself is 54 lbs. The biggest difference between classes of hitches, is the weight rating. So, depending on how heavy your ebikes are, will determine whether you are safe to use the Sport Rider for your application. The biggest concern would be going over that weight rating, if the weight rating is exceeded, then you risk the rack bending your hitch, or your bumper damaging.

Very Satisfied! Rapid shipping and good communication from the seller!

Installed it myself without a lift or car jacks in about 3 hours; just on my back in the street. The instructions included were very detailed and complete; although I didn't have to use them, due to the YouTube Videos on installation. The quality of the materials are very high and the finish is good.

Everything bolted-up nicely and fit well.

I plan on pulling a trailer to move some household goods and later maybe a mini travel trailer.

Highly recommended!

I installed it in literally 20minutes. No jack needed and I only had to undo the fabric liner and slide off the muffler mount. Everything lines up perfectly and secured down. I have already used it several times to haul a trailer/loads and I am loving it. Simply a must have for any Kia Soul owner as its a Game Changer!

2014 Kia Soul

Delivery was prompt and the fit was perfect. My advice for installation for a Kia Soul though is to install jack stands under vehicle and removal of rear tires. Fender linings are extremely difficult to remove with wheels on. Accessibility of mounting holes for hitch very difficult without wheel removal. Also, on a 2014 Soul, the threaded mount bolt holes were extremely rusted. Prepare for this because the bolts could not be started until the rust was removed (approximately an hour). Other than that, great.

  • Recommended 2 Inch Hitch for a 2015 Kia Soul
Yes, we do. To add a 2" hitch to your 2015 Kia Soul you will want the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7326. This custom fit hitch bolts to your Kia with included hardware. I really like this hitch because the crosstube mounts behind your rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" receiver visible. This not only helps with ground clearance but also looks better. I have linked an installation video below and also attached a couple of pictures so you can see what this hitch looks like...

  • Can I Tow a U-Haul Trailer with My 2017 Kia Soul
Since the Class I Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11419 for your 2017 Kia Soul can tow up to 2,000 lbs it will be able to handle the weight of either trailer, but the 1,650 lbs and 1,800 lbs weight ratings you're seeing is the max amount of cargo each trailer can hold. When you add the weight of the trailer into the mix you're then looking at 2,500 lbs for the 4x8 and 2,700 lbs for the 5x8. As long as you stay under the 2,000 lb weight capacity of the Curt hitch you'll be fine. This means...

They're all great hitches, but I'll give a brief summary of their pros and cons so you can decide which one best fits your needs. The EcoHitch # 306-X7326 has a 2" receiver. Because using an adapter increases the distance between the load of the bikes and rack and the hitch receiver, more leverage is exerted on the hitch as well as its attachment points to the vehicle. This is why the tongue weight capacity of the hitch is lowered by half to 100 lbs. Exceeding that could cause the hitch or the attachment points to the vehicle to fail, which would be bad.
