Fits and works, can't remember exactly but pay attention to exhaust side I had everything tightened except that side and realized I was under the pipe or something like that and I refused to start over so I lossened a pipe mount and did some shoving and fanangling on pipe to get it past the hitch support

Shes still on there and dont seem to be going anywhere ever, nothing is loose or bent. I only haul dirtbikes so I havent pushed the limits or nothing but Id say the product could be garunteed for the life of car at this rate

by:
2010 Honda Civic

The install video was great especially reviewing the key steps. The muffler will bump against the trailer hitch because it is such a tight fit, but I don't think they ever intended a Civic to have a trailer hitch.
Fast order fulfillment. I had the hitch in two from when I placed the order.

by:
2009 Honda Civic

good enough to make it my first purchase review. installed on my 09 civic si. For those frustrated with the written instructions, the video on how to install is thorough and easy to follow, etrailer went the extra step to supply exactly what is needed to install and installation is extremely easy, a simple socket socket and a tin snips is all you need. i was able to install myself without lifting the car at all. the plug and play wiring harness that is sold separate. was simple and works well to pull my boat trailer. Have recommended this product to others

by:
2010 Honda Civic

The paper instructions are so-so. Trimming was required, but the instructions did not show how to trim the muffler heat shield. It showed how to trim the plastic cover, but the drawing was wrong. Trimming is arguably the hardest part of this install, so accurate diagrams of where to trim, or even a template, would have been nice. The hitch receiver itself looks well-made but I have not towed with it yet.

by:

Excellent buying experience. Hitch fit very well, very good instructions. Great advice from eTrailer on the pre buy phone call. Can't beat the great customer service. Thank You!

by:

I love my new trailer hitch, it came fast and product was as expected, thank you

by:
Honda Civic

Arrived promptly and as advertised. Put in on the next day. My plastic snaps had faded to nothing on my '08 Civic but by taking off the bolts, I was able to pull down the plastic covering to cut away the small portion. Everything else went relatively smoothly. Excited to try this bad boy out.

by:
2012 Honda Civic

It fit with little aggravation despite what others had warned. The videos were key in making sense of the paper instructions. My car frame had all the right holes, both in size and location, and that made for easier installation.

The hitch is holding up fine. However, my Thule bike rack does not fit snugly in the hitch, and tends to wobble when driving. I installed a bracket to better hold it steady, but the rack still moves slightly.

@James Which Thule rack do you have?

by:
2015 Honda Civic

Hey, I didn't get around to finishing the review but I was pretty unsatisfied to open the box and find the hitch looker previously installed. There were lots of scratches and a large patch where the paint was scrapped off and showing metal. The harness was fine and looked new but the hitch was most definitely installed or had been attempted to be on another vehicle.

Thank you for reaching about the condition of the hitch. I will have our customer service team reach out to assist you. I recommend touching up the affected area with a rust resistant paint like Rustoleum.

Great product! Easy to install. Pictures for what you have to cut are not clear, but I figured out what I needed to cut. Since I don’t own a truck, this is a way for me to have a way to carry large items on a trailer & not need to borrow someone’s truck.

Great help from etrailer to help me get the correct part the first time and the videos are very simple and informative on how to install with ease and the fact that as you are doing the install you can go look at the video over and over as you go threw the install process and the videos will walk you threw it. Very helpful and makes the installation easier
I believe anyone can buy with confidence and do the install and have a superior product on your vehicle at a fraction of the cost , than taking to a repair shop
I installed a receiver hitch on my vehicle and plug and play trailer light wiring harness

Plus you can contact etraiker direct if you have questions along the way

by:

Hitch arrived in a timely fashion. Installation was a breeze and the fit and finish were perfect. Wiring harness hooked up perfectly. etrailer made the whole process simple. I just ordered another hitch and harness for our new car.

by:

I'm happy to report that after a year, it has performed its job satisfactory.
It was a pain to fish the 2 bolts into the holes, it seems that there's only just barely enough room to get the bolts to the right position to pull through the holes. Probably internal bends or ridges in the way in the car frame.
First side was 15+minutes, but It took me a good hour for other side.
I wonder now if I could have swapped things to make it easier, or if I was doing it wrong to begin with.
But either way, I towed a 4x8 enclosed uhaul trailer packed full and possibly over weight for 1000 miles and had no problems at all with handling or performance.

by:
2013 Honda Civic

Let me start off by saying that this is an excellent product. Installation was a breeze and it was a complete bolt on. No modifications was needed.

I have a 2013 Honda Civic Si Coupe and the only issue I ran into during the install was the hitch hitting the exhaust hanger for the rear muffler. The only reason this happened was because I have an aftermarket exhaust system and I am using polyurethane exhaust hangers. These hangers are thicker than OEM. It still bolted right up with alittle tweaking. I also left the rear splash panel and heat shield off for now. If your running a stock exhaust hanger, you will not run into the issue I did. So don't let that steer you away, lol.

Overall welds are great, and the construction is perfect. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

by:

This is a really nice trailer hitch. I bought it for my 08 civic. It fit really well and is sturdy. I've had it for about a year now and no rust so far. Would recommend.

by:
2008 Honda Civic

Sort of an odd installation but I guess I didn't know what to expect with my 08 civic sedan. I followed the instructional video on etrailer, which simplified everything for me! I don't plan on towing anything with it, just needed it for a Thule bike rack.

by:

Very fast delivery, hitch broke out of delivery box but only a little chipped paint. Pictures in directions were hard to see but there are great videos online. Installation pretty easy for the most part. Great product well worth the investment. I bought a Swagman bike rack as well both are bullet proof. Highly recommend ETrailer.com and these products.

by:
2012 Honda Civic

This is my 2nd Curt hitch purchased through eTrailer originally had one on my 2012 Ford Fiesta hatch, the Civic unit went on without a "hitch".. lol. Great instructions and hardware, fast shipping and great service from eTrailer as always. Pictured with the Curt 2" Euro ball.

by:
2010 Honda Civic

This is a high quality hitch from Curt, an American company, I think it is also made in America as well. Compared to the competition this looked more robust and had more mounting hardware and points of contact. They are some how cheaper than the other foreign companies. No problems with stuff made in other countries but these days it’s great to buy American, we only have a few companies left in certain industries.

by:

This product was great very easy to install and I used it to tow my motorcycle to the track 3-6hrs away. I have no complaints great for my Acura Ilx.

by:
2010 Honda Civic

Works well on my 2010 civic lx

by:
2015 Honda Civic

Perfect fit for my 2015 Civic SI coupe. Small modification to the muffler heat shield, a pair of descent size scissors will do the job. It's mainly used for hauling my bicycle around. Would highly recommend it.

by:
2015 Honda Civic

The only thing that was difficult was getting the rubber muffler hanger back on, there was not much space to do it after putting the hitch frame right next to it. The hitch was installed on a 2015 Honda Civic Si.

by:
2008 Honda Civic

Hitch was just as shown and described. Shipping was fast and free, and with the youtube video installing was relatively easy. I have little experience with this kind of thing and went at it solo. I didn't even jack it up. Would not recommend but I managed to pull it off

by:

Install took about 1.5 hours with excellent instructions and install video. The package arrived quickly, free of any damage. etrailer has the best customer service I’ve ever dealt with. I’ll definitely buy from them again.

For a trailer hitch receiver that is confirmed to fit your 2013 Honda Civic I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit # C11391 which is a Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver. Since all of the Euro ball mounts fit a Class II hitch receiver you will need to use a different style. The Draw-Tite # 3593 ball mount is what we recommend using. You can use part # 19258 for a 2 inch diameter hitch ball. Don't forget that you will also need trailer wiring as well. Since your Civic...

For this I highly recommend you check out the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z which uses padded hooks to grasp your bikes by the top tubes and adjustable wheel mounts with straps to secure your rear wheels. I looked up the towing capacity of your 2009 Honda Civic and it appears to have a 1,000 lb capacity. So if you could keep the trailer under 1,000 lbs total you would be good. You'd need a hitch like the Curt # C11391 that fits your vehicle and has more capacity than needed as well. Then for trailer wiring you'd want the part # 118420 if you have a sedan or part # 118437.

  • Is Stabilizing Strap Required for Curt Trailer Hitch on 2010 Honda Civic
You are correct. The Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11391, which is confirmed to fit your 2010 Honda Civic, requires you to use an additional stabilizing strap for non-trailer loads, such as bike racks and cargo carriers. This is simply an additional safety measure that Curt takes with their lower Class I and Class II trailer hitches, and is not necessarily an indication of the hitch's strength. Draw-Tite does not have this same requirement, so the Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch #...
