Attach this inner tube to your gooseneck trailer to get a heavy-duty coupler with an extra 10" of clearance between your truck cab and trailer. Fits standard 4" outer diameter outer tubes. Easy-to-grip, spring-loaded handle eases hookup.
Features:
Specs:
Note: Distance between end of outer coupler tube and bend near bottom of coupler sleeve should not exceed 6".
With the Extend-A-Goose from B&W you can finally get the clearance you need to tow your gooseneck trailer with your short bed truck. This sturdy steel coupler provides 10" of offset so that you can complete turns even with relatively tight tolerances between your trailer and truck cab.
The easy-to-grip, spring-loaded handle not only makes it simple to properly latch the coupler around the ball, but it also allows you to lock down the coupler for security. Just use a standard padlock (sold separately) to secure the handle in the latched position, and no one will be able to uncouple your trailer from the hitch ball.

This was so easy to install I am practically convinced I did it wrong! I have pulled the trailer, though, and everything is working perfectly. The product is sturdy, user friendly. It was delivered on schedule with frequent messages regarding its status along the way. Delivery was done according to my request. Then I got an email with some reassuring instructions that included who and how to contact for help! This is a company that seems committed to its customers' satisfaction.
Very easy to install with 2 people! We measured the distance from the pin to the bottom of the old hitch so we knew where to put this one. It’s very heavy & solid looking!
Installed in minutes. Pulled the trailer the next day and it was just right for the short bed truck. Hopefully won’t blow out anymore back windows.
It does the job but I would not buy it again. The holes drilled in the hitch to adjust the height are offset on a slant to allow the holes to be closer together. Depending on your height selection, it causes the coupler for the ball to turn. In our particular situation when the height is set, the coupler is offset to the left which causes the trailer not to follow directly behind the truck but off to the passenger side. I would rather have the holes in a straight line and further apart than to have the offset in the coupler which I consider bordering on unsafe.
I ordered this gooseneck coupler and it arrived in 3 days as promised. It's heavy so I took it to a friend to install it. Took maybe 15 min and I can actually turn my truck and trailer without worrys about blowing out the window like I did the week before. So happy I found these guys, super easy to work with. I would recommend this product to everyone with a short bed truck.

Glad to hear that Philip! What are you hauling?
The extended coupler does EXACTLY what I needed - gave me extra turning room for my 8' wide horse trailer. (I've already knocked the back window out once - but no more)!!
Gives me peace of mind that I can travel and camp without a turning restriction.

Still does EXACTLY what I needed it for and has allowed me to make close turns easily. Highly recommend the extended coupler.
I was terrified at every turn of smashing my truck. This extend-a-goose is the answer! Make sure you measure the clearance of your gooseneck support to the bed rails to make sure that extending it the 11 inches doesn’t cause that angled part to impact your truck. The build quality is fantastic, however!! I’m not impressed with the “paint” down around the coupler...after only having it for a month or so I’m seeing rust stains (I will likely cover with a trash bag so it is not out in the elements since it protrudes last the gooseneck overhang. Bottom line, of you want a shortbed and a gooseneck this is a must!!! I no longer worry about crushing my truck and I can swing to about 80 deg off my trailer without worry (before it was maybe 50 degrees) And as always, shout out to etrailer for being a great parts supplier!!!
This extension makes so much difference in my capabilities to turn and backup without hitting my feeder with the front of the trailer!
This product is exactly what they advertise and is exactly how it performs. I absolutely love this product and have pushed my friends to purchase as well if they have a standard bed.
I live in the Flint Hills of Northeast Kansas and we started using a Bar Six Cake feeder on our pickup to take care of cattle on winter pasture. I couldn't pull my trailer without crunching the cake box. I saw an extend-a-goose on another truck with a similar set-up and I thought this might be the answer. I charted out my problem on paper and figured out the trigonometry that I could increase my turning radius by 18 degrees with the 10" drop in the hitch.
I went ahead and ordered the item and installed it the day it came, which incidentally is always very quick with E-Trailer products. It worked like a charm. We still have to be careful with the trailer, but the extender helps me do my job more efficiently.
Super fast shipping. The order left within 1 day. Awesome customer service
etrailer is great. Good products and better service.
I bought this for my 8 wide square front trailer. I own a short box and the turning radius was just not what I wanted. Now that I have this I am not worried about smashing out my back window on my truck. The trailer hauls nicely and you would never know the sleeve of the trailer is pushed back.
After 40 years of driving a long bed, I bought a short bed truck. My trailer is 8ft wide and without this coupler I could barely turn my truck and trailer around. It made a huge difference.
Built like a TANK! Simple install. Looks awesome.
Worked perfect and solved my problem with no more broken back windows.
Allowed me to safely haul my horse trailer with my short bed truck!
We have 2 of these because we have a short bed F350. Has saved us from damaging the truck bed and we don't have to worry about crunching our 4 door either.
Good product. Cheaper than damaged truck cab on short wheel based trucks. I’m speaking from experience. Ha ha
Does not fit all trailers! This isn't the fault of etrailers but it was an expensive lesson for me and now I'm stuck with an expensive doorstop that I can't use. The product information should be very clear that this is not compatible with all trailers.
Works great. We tow this trailer 3-5 times a week. There’s no signs of wear. Trailer is typically around 10,000 lbs. Moved the trailer back a few inches. Now trailer has no chance of hitting back glass or cab of truck. Bought this after one of my employees popped the back glass on one of my trucks. Now I don’t have to worry about it happening again.
Perfect fit! I can now pull my gooseneck without worry/issue with my short bed 2500! Been using it for a year now and it’s holding up great! Highly recommend!
The coupler is good quality and easy to install. It applies the down force from the trailer at the design point, so there is no compromise in trailer handling qualities for the truck. My truck is a 2016 Ford F-150 crew cab with a short bed, which has limited clearance for the gooseneck. My trailer is a two horse Sundowner gooseneck, which has a V-nose. With the extender, I can make the tightest possible turn moving forward with good clearance between the cab and trailer. Backing up, there is plenty of clearance provided that I do not jackknife the trailer. I estimated that contact would occur with an 82 degree angle between the trailer and truck. That means there is clearance for any maneuver you want to actually make, but of course if you jackknife the trailer too much it would be possible to damage the truck. This is an excellent solution for a v-nose trailer with the F150 crew cab. I would not recommend it for a flat nose trailer. I formerly had a standard bed F150 that I pulled this trailer with. There is no noticeable difference in pulling with the short bed and extended coupler as compared with the 2011 standard bed. The 2016 has more capacity thanks to the lower weight of the aluminum body and the higher torque of the 3.5L turbo charged V6.

Works great. I have not had any incidents or close calls in maneuvering the trailer. Did have one minor issue. Wasps like to enter the holes and build nests. Had to tape over them.
great fit, secure mount, seems very strong and good quality materials and welds.

Isn't that funny how when things go well it's suspicious? haha Glad the install went smoothly and if we can ever help with any future install projects we are happy to help - or even reassure :) What will you be towing?
