Quiet, Secure Ride
The 3/4" thick jaw on the Patriot is precision machined to provide a tight, sturdy connection. And unlike slide-bar models, the rounded 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
In addition to the sturdy jaw, the Patriot has durable polyurethane bushings built in to provide a smoother, more comfortable towing experience. These bushings sit on top of the pivot arms that support the fifth-wheel head. Because the head is resting on padded area, it is able to pivot without clanking. The ability of the head to pivot - both front to back and side to side - along with the trailer also helps to limit the chucking that may occur with a more static hitch.
Non-Binding Latch Handle
The dual jaw on the Patriot is operated by a simple-to-use cam-action handle. This handle allows you to quickly and easily release the jaws on the hitch, even if you are on uneven terrain. If any binding does occur between your truck and trailer, the jaws may remain closed after you move the handle to the open position. But because the handle is unlatched, there is nothing keeping the jaws closed except for the binding pressure. Therefore, simply driving your truck forward will be enough to force the jaws to open.
The cam-action handle is held in the closed position with the included pin and clip. For extra security, you can replace the pin with a sturdy padlock. The shackle on the lock you choose should have a diameter of 5/16", height of 3", and a width of 2-1/4".

The B&W Patriot can be adjusted up and down for optimal positioning. As a result, this hitch can easily accommodate the height of your trailer.
Built-In Slider
Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, a slider helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a slider to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.
The slider that is built into the base of the Patriot allows for 12" of fore and aft travel to give you the clearance you need.

Today we're going to take a look at the replacement slider base for the BMW Patriot slider 5th wheel trailer hitch, and this has an 18,000 pound weight capacity. Now this replacement slider base will fit the BMW Patriot slider 5th wheel trailer hitch and allows you to attach your 5th wheel hitch to the rails in your truck bed. The adjustable pivot arms, which are these right here that I've attached to the base already, this will let you mount the hitch head to fit your application. It has the polyurethane bushings right up at the top here. The hitch head would drop right on top of that. Now these arms when you attach them to here, there's a range of holes on both sides, so you can move the arms front to back for improved cab clearance, and you can also put them up to down to raise or lower. It gives you about three different hitch height settings because you want your trailer that you're towing to be about as level as possible to the tow vehicle, so you can put this in three different hitch height settings, either 17 inch, 18 inch, or 19 inch, and the hitch height is always measured from the truck bed to the top of the hitch head when it's installed in here.
The hitch head that goes on here is a part number BWRVC3200. We do sell that separately on your website. That would fit right on top of here and you can also buy this base with the head already included, and that's part number BWRVK3270. Now this is a very quick and simple installation. It fits on the above bed base rails, so it is compatible with industry standard above bed base rails. The rails we do sell separately.
If you already have rails in your truck bed they should work in there with no problem. This does include the four hitch pins and clips that'll attach the hitch to the rails. This base is a steel construction. It has a nice grey power coat finish, which is corrosion resistant. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this, the gross towing weight capacity is 18,000 pounds.
The hitch height I had mentioned once your head's on here measure from the truck bed to the top of the hitch head would be 17 inches to 19 inches, and the travel on this, I'm going to show you the travel is 12 inches front to back, so if this is the cab, that would be the tailgate so this is in the lock towing position. If you just raise that lever up you can see it'll go 12 inches, and once it hits the maneuvering position it would lock into place and then when you're done maneuvering and you want to go back to the towing position, again just lift that lever up to unlock it and it'll release and lock into the towing position just like that. One last measurement I want to give you is the foot print of this, the width and the depth of it to give you an idea of how much space this will take up in your truck bed. Width is going to be right at 32 inches and the depth from front to back is right at 29 and 1/2. That should do it for the review of the replacement slider base for the BMW Patriot slider 5th wheel trailer hitch with the 18,000 pound weight capacity.

After my 22 year old Reese 14K hitch broke (compromised the locking jaws) I was unsure what my options were so I called E-trailer. Fortunately I got Alex on the phone. He was extremely helpful and insightful. He told me about the B&W products and that is how I ended up with the 3270. I was concerned about the weight. As a 68 year old retiree, I was able to lift the Reese in/out of my truck but afraid the B&W would be too heavy. Alex told me they offered a product that clamped into 5th wheel jaws of the B&W. If I had a pulley system, a lift, or a tractor it was a piece of cake. I have the latter two. After I received the new hitch I assembled and installed in a couple of minutes. There was a snafu on the delivery of this, like it ending up 1000 miles from my house on the first try, and then the delivery company getting mad at me for not having a forklift at my house. Since I just got this yesterday I can't say much ab out it yet, I am still trying to install it. I do suggest a hoist in your garage if you plan on removing this hitch at all, it is heavy. It looks to be in great condition though! I can't wait to get it attached so I can give it a test drive on a 2 hour trip. I can tell you that two RV retailers suggested this B&W hitches, so I have high hopes. With all the products on the market today, to get recommendations from two different companies that installs them, is impressive.
When I placed the order it was my 4th go around trying to get the type of hitch I wanted. I was assured that this would fit my truck. I received an email indicating the same thing along with my question. The voice experience was very assuring and positive. The delivery was right on schedule. The installation took only three hours and works well. All the way from ordering to installation was positive. Would order from this company again.
This is a quality hitch. Very well constructed and I can't wait to try it out. If you need the bolt dow rails and kit give yourself plenty of time to install.

Product arrived exactly the day I was informed it would and perfectly packaged with all parts. I installed parts on my truck in about 3.5 hours and they fit exactly how I needed them to fit. Rails worked out perfect with my Reese Pro series 20K hitch
I was pretty frustrated with the etrailer install video for this kit on my truck. I would give 5 stars for the kit, and 3 stars for the etrailer video. My gripe with the video? They must have been installing this kit on a gas truck. My 2019 diesel truck has a DEF tank that is is a PITA and obstructs easy installation. Had etrailer done their video on a diesel truck, there is a simple trick that includes backing the DEF tank mounting nuts off to let the tank drop down just a tiny bit. This makes the install much, much easier.

From the start,the folks at etrailer were very courteous and helpful. I called many times during the decision making process and everyone was always right there to help. When I finally decided to purchase the B&W 18K Patriot w/slider Bailey was there to help with the order. She explained the free freight shipping and it was a done deal. It arrived 1 day earlier than stated, as soon as I opened the cartons it was in fact the good ol' American made quality I was accustomed to growing up. I proceeded to install on the B&W rails I purchased and installed locally on my 2022 F250 Lariat/ Tremor.I had a small hick- up with the install and etrailer gave me B&W's # as they like to handle issues themselves. Stephanie at B&W was just as courteous. Overall a very pleasant experience. The Patriot was basically plug and play. I then connected my 2021 Grand Design 303RLS Reflection and rolled down yhe road. What a smooth and quiet ride, loved it! I would definitely recommend etrailer and their products. Thank you all that helped.
This is the 8th time I have installed a rail system on my vehicles. This was the easiest one I have done. I had a hard time finding the correct kit for my 2024 F-250 and when I finally found it I did not realize that it was grey and not the normal black color. I was surprised when I was done that it did not look bad at all against my factory sprayed in bed liner that is black. I did not have to remove the heat shield as everything was easy to get at. I highly recommend this kit.

This shipment came sparsely/poorly secured to it's pallet. the Box holding the Installation Kit and Base Rails was incomplete and missing the two rail sections. These rails are the beginning ingredient to installing the 5th wheel hitch to your vehicle. The box was closed and from all appearances was packed without them and shipped to me incomplete. This ongoing situation is further compounded by the horrible customer service response that is on it's second week of calamity. The first week was wasted by a customer representative known to me as Noah promising me that the missing rails would be shipped out UPS on Monday with a sincere apology and that I should receive them by Wednesday of the coming week. This action proved to be dully noted on the file but not performed or followed up by Noah. No sense of urgency from these people? When the promised delivery day of Wednesday passed I called Thursday to find out it was not even shipped yet(raising the question? When were they going to let me know?) After a totally illogical conversation with a young lady (who was loosing her patients for me) repeatedly explained that "etrailer" was waiting 5 days as company policy for the freight company to find the missing parts even though the box was not damaged or tampered with? I then asked to speak to a manager who assured me that she would ship the rails UPS and provide me with a tracking number going on day two and no tracking number, email or phone call from Jennifer? I'd stay away from this company and find one of the many other resources to buy your trailer needs. From all appearances they seem to perform well unless customer service has to get involved and then you are hung out to dry like me?

Wow! Very stout and built solid! A far cry from the Reese 16k slider fifth wheel hitch! The slider and fifth wheel pin lock are very smooth.

Unit is solid and well built, just as advertised. Assembly and installation was straightforward but prepare for lifting help as the base unit is quite heavy.

I bought a new 2022 Ford F-350 and it didn't come with the 5th wheel mounting set up. I got on etrailer.com and found this and it shipped out right away and it took about 4 hours to install it. which surprised me, I thought it would take most of the day. Everything fit perfect, I didn't have to drill any holes in the frame and my Husky 26,000 lb hitch set on perfect. I've been really happy with it and etrailers service is 2nd to none.
This hitch is great! Works flawlessly and is easy to install. Directions for mounting hardware sucks . I I’m on of those who like to just hold it up and see how it works. I recommend reading the crappy instructions and then hold the brackets up. Front bar directions good rear bar is bad .

So far so good. Hitch appears to be good quality. It was easy to install after installing the mounting kit. I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on how it handles when pulling a camper.

This is an excellent hitch, easy install on existing mounting rails! Etrailer had the best price by far and provided free shipping! I would highly recommend this company, the only issue I had was with UPS freight, who sat on my shipment for two full weeks before delivering it.

Great hitch in my 2015 Ram 2500 Short Bed. I had to contact B&W due to a concern with tightening the mounting bolts. The threads in the holes are painted, B&W said to run a tap through the threads. Also I was missing a few bolts on previously installed mounting kit. B&W sent me the whole bolt kit overnight for free. Awesome American company proudly supporting their products. I highly recommend their products. Also etrailer sent this hitch to me in a timely manner at a great price. I would use etrailer again. Thank you!
This is my first time using a fifth wheel hitch so I don’t have anything to compare it to but other people recommend it to me I haven’t had any issues with this well built hitch and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Delivery was good as was their communication Really like the hitch. Install took about 3 hours. Video is helpful. Would definitely recommend.
