Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the Redline mounting hardware for brake assemblies. One thing that you always seem to forget at least I do whenever you're doing trailer repair or trailer upgrades for that matter is the small things, right Like the nuts and bolts and small connectors and clamps and things of that nature. And a lot of times, you know when you're making those improvements you know you can break the bolts and break hardware and stuff too. And that's where a replacement bolt kit is gonna come into play. You know, so these are gonna allow you to mount up your drum assemblies or even your disc brake assembly brackets to the flange on your axle.
So these are gonna be seven sixteenths in diameter and these are designed to work with those seven and 10 inch assemblies. They might work with others too if that's what size hole you have in your flange air and pretty straightforward, you know what I mean It's just one of those things like today we're actually adding disc brakes to our trailer, right And so there was no existing hardware. It's like we took a drum brake assembly off and we're able to reuse those bolts. So we get in here and go, well, we forgot about it. So we got the kit and makes it a little bit easier even if you had an existing drum brake set up on here.
A lot of times, like I said it's just always, it never fails, you know especially if your trailer's super old and beat up it's almost better just to get new nuts and bolts. That way you're not fighting with it cause you know you know that's how it'll go. You'll try to save them and then something will happen and then having to take a trip to the store whatever the case may be. But pretty straightforward, you know, you got your bolt you're matching split lock washer and your hex nut there. And so these come in a few different, a few different varieties.
You know, there's a package for just one side of the axle so you get total of four or there's a whole pack that's for the whole axle or both sides of the axle. So you be able to do each side and you can buy 'em individually if you need to or buy multiples if you're doing a tandem axle trailer or something like that. So regardless on your current setup or what you need there's gonna be a solution for you. Once your bolts are all put in place though you wanna make sure to come back and properly torque 'em down using a torque wrench. And that'll finish up our look at of the Redline mounting hardware for our brake assemblies..

Use this hardware kit to mount (2) 10" brake assemblies on your trailer. Includes mounting bolts, nuts, and lockwashers. The hardware I received was a mixture of 1/2 inch bolts and 7/16 washers and nuts. I figured the 1/2 inch size was the way to go since the brackets were drilled for 1/2 inch. A trip to the hardware store and an hour of my time took care of the washer and nut problem. So now I have 8 7/16 lock washers and 8 7/16 fine thread nuts that I have no use for.
I soon realized that the mounting brackets on my new axles were pre-drilled for 7/16 hardware. So I drilled the brackets out to 1/2 inch to accept the bolts. Then, upon mounting of the supplied caliper brackets, I found that there was insufficient clearance for some of the washers/nuts to fit onto the bolts, so I had to go to undersized hardware. What a cluster!!
I’m overall good hardware. Rated at 4 stars due to one of the lock washers bending completely out of shape when properly torqued on installation.
Nuts and bolts.. what can I say..maybe the should be stainless to go with the stainless brakes...time will tell
No complaints.... Just prefer stainless steel... Lol
as described. worked well
I definitely recommend a trailer for all parts regarding your marine boat trailer.
The plating seemed to be top quality and the nut to bolt fitment was superb. The best thing is, they came right to my door. I didn't have to go to the hardware store to dig through the bin of nuts and bolts and possibly break a nail. Very convenient and safe.

The products were great and worked exactly as specified.
Didn’t put in lock washers with nuts and bolts.
Boat trailer brakes arrived on schedule and were in excellent condition. They fit perfectly and appeared to be of excellent quality. Very happy with the service and quality of the product.
Regular every day nuts bolts and washers. Packaged right and delivered timely. That being said, the application I purchased them for was not a 100% fit. The electric brake backing plates came with the bolts already pressed in. The bolts in this kit are hex head and I don't think they would press in and clearance could be an issue. I have not done my install yet so can't say for sure. I will use the lock washers and the nuts.
As described. Being pre assembled made installation easy.

Easy to install. They are working fine.
Ordered these self adjusting Brakes to replace the manually adjusted front pair for a trial. The brakes were easy to install, and have worked well. I will buy another set to replace the rear set. Conclusion a nice easy upgrade anyone can accomplish. I would recommend this product.
I only needed wheel cylinders for my 25 year old boat trailer but the value in replacing the whole backing plate was great. Perfect fit with no modifications necessary. They bolted right on and the brake lines matched up like they were original. Thanks for reviving my trailer.
It was easy to select the trailer brake kit. The dimensions were right there so I could measure what I needed and order. Glad I read the reviews that said to purchase replacement hardware too. Quick delivery And I am all set
Product arrived in excellent condition and clean. I was eligible for free shipping. Order was placed on sunday afternoon and received north of NY state on next friday. I would definitely consider buying from etrailer again.
My old hardware for my brackets was completely rusted and bolts were rounded off and hard to be cut/drilled out. This was a perfect replacement
Was very pleased with the purchase. The only small negative on my order was the adjustment assembly was missing on the right side brake assembly. The good point was a new one was shipped and received within 2 days. To me that was very impressive. Good job by customer service department.
All bolts, nuts and lock washers were present and accounted for. Grade five, nothing special but handy to have them delivered with the brake package and save a trip to town.
Very pleased with the knowledge, assistance and guidance Kevin provided me with my purchase. Items shipped the same day and arrived in 6 days. Trailer break items were all the proper size and fitted perfectly. Job well done, thanks a million.
Brake assy. for my boat trailer fit perfect.Fast delivery and great customer service.

Sometimes having the extra hardware on hand will work out in the long run. We do have the mounting nuts separately as part # 6-17.
This was just part of my disc brake order. My whole order came in 2 days. Paid extra for 3 day delivery. No problems with my order. As always etrailer is A1.
great service and great products and great advice
I only needed the nuts and lock washers, but they worked perfectly.
Don't know if I will need these yet, but I was glad to be able to get these at the same time I purchased the brake assembly.

Despite some installation problems due to mismatched hardware, the brakes have performed well last season and the beginning of this season. I am boating in salt water so I rinse the entire trailer with fresh water as soon as possible after coming out of the water. I saw some corrosion on the rotors at the beginning of this season but it seems to be wearing away. Last season I had some difficulty getting the brake lines bled, but discovered a small leak in one of the junction fittings, so nothing to do with the brakes themselves. One of my mistakes was not bleeding both bleeders on each assembly. Once I did I am getting better stopping power. All in all, these are well made assemblies that are relatively easy to install once you have the mounting hardware right for the job. I have a relatively old trailer that came with drum brakes, which may have added to some difficulties on the front end of the job. Based on their performance, I would highly recommend these brake assemblies and will upgrade my evaluation to 5 stars.
