Video Transcript for Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate with Handles: The Breakdown

Today we're going to review part number BDW20011. This is the Bulldog 2-inch by 2-inch hitch mounted winch mounting plate with the handles. This part will provide a portable and flexible mounting solution for your winch. It has the fully welded heavy duty frame and even the handles. If you'll notice right here between the winch mount and the receiver tube, it is double gusseted on top and on the bottom to give you extra strength. It is designed to fit any standard 2-inch by 2-inch hitch receiver.

This can be used for truck winches up to 12,000 pound with the standard 10 by 4-1/2-inch mounting bolt pattern and it will also fit smaller 6-1/2, 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern winches. I just want to try to show you the holes you see in the bottom of the plate there. When you say the mounting patterns, you're talking about these mounting holes. The outer holes, the distance between them center-to-center is 4-1/2 inches and on the outer ones you can see it would be 10 inches and then on the inner ones would get you your 6-1/2. It will use either 10 by 4-1/2-inch mounting bolt pattern or the 6-1/2 by 4-1/2-inch mounting bolt pattern. Now on the very front .. let me turn this around ...

I'm going to show you the holes on the front. You'll notice the holes here. These are at a 10-inch pattern center-to-center so this will accept any of the fairleads that have a 10-inch mount pattern. It does come with this adapter plate and the included hardware to install it. If by chance you're going to use a fairlead that has an 8-inch mount pattern, if you look at these inner holes there it would be 8 inches.

All you have to do is attach this right to that and then attach your fairlead to there and you can use the smaller 8-inch mount pattern if you prefer. Now one last thing I do want to let you know is the capacity of this mounting plate will be based on the capacity of the vehicle hitch receiver. That should do it for the review of part number BDW20011. This is the Bulldog 2-inch by 2-inch hitch mounted winch mounting plate with the handles. .

Great design to move from trailer to trailer...............well built piece of equipment.

by:

I'll admit, the price was a big factor.....you get what you pay for. Two of the four holes to mount the winch were off by more than an inch, so i had to drill new ones. The wiring harness was no better. The quick disconnect had intermittent electrical connectivity....had to modify it. Manufacturer was little help, they offered to drill the holes but that required shipping the mount 3500 miles at my expense. They made no offer to compensate me. They did mail a new quick disconnect. The mount works well but i had to work for it as well as pay for it!

by:

This worked out good as I used it for the Truck and can move it to my Bob Cat / Car Trailer , I fabled up receivers and move it from one to the other in just a few minutes very handy Then I just store it in the garage, we mounted everything on brackets and made a plate to mount onto it as well so all in one .

by:

Great so far haven’t used this package was packed well

by:

The bracket looks nice and well built the only unfortunate thing is the box arrived torn up and some hardware missing looked as if it were a return that had been sent back and uninspected and left in disarray hard time feeling warm and fuzzy about it since it was supposed to be new

Well made, strong, I really like that it's a one piece unit and that's why I spent the extra money..
There were other models much cheaper that are bolt together which I don't recommend...

  • Recommended Portable 10K Winch For Loading Equipment on a Tilt Trailer
I recommend using a Winch # SW39GR with the Hitch Mount # BDW20011. This way you only need a 2" receiver which is typically already on the rear of most trucks and are available for the front. For your tilt trailer you can weld on a Receiver # 337RT25806B where it works best to hold the winch. And we also have a Storage Mount # BDW20154 so you can place it in an easily dedicated area. The Winch # SW39GR does offer a wired or wireless remote. This is great as if you had an issue with the...

  • Recommended 12k Winch And Mounting Plate For A Trailer Hitch Receiver
For a 12k winch I recommend the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW10039. Bulldog is a well-known name in the winch community and this specific model comes with a wireless remote that you can use to easily activate the winch from anywhere within a 100' radius. To get this winch mounted to your trailer hitch you'll need the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate # BDW20011 and a reducer. You should have at most a 3" receiver tube opening so I recommend double checking the opening...

  • How To Choose Correct Size Wire for 12K Winch on Rear of Vehicle
In order to find the correct size wire for a winch you'll need to know the amp rating. The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch part # BDW10040 for example which has a 12,000 lb capacity and can pull anywhere from 65 - 400 amps depending on the load. It would take a very large wire to handle this much power over a distance from the front of the vehicle to the rear and that is not something we offer unfortunately. If you were only pulling out small loads then you could get away with the Bulldog Winch...

No, installing the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 65043 or the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 31352 will not interfere with the OEM transmission cooler on your 2005 Ford F-150 STX. The only way that you transmission cooler would be affected is if you had something installed on the front-mount hitch that was directly blocking air flow to the transmission cooler. If you have an aftermarket transmission cooler, part # 65043 interfering with it would depend...

  • Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2017 Ram 2500
The only front mount trailer hitch receiver we have for your 2017 Ram 2500 is the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65063. Unfortunately, Draw-Tite only tests their front mounted trailer hitch receivers with stock bumpers and cannot confirm if it will work with the Thunderstruck bumper you currently have. With that being said, the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver has a line pull rating of 9,000 lbs therefore, as long you are not exceeding this capacity you...

I am happy to help you get your truck out of the mud. I recommend the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit part # 65076 for the front mount hitch which has a 9,000 lbs line pull capacity. Since you are using the winch to pull the truck out of the mud you need one with a capacity to handle the trucks weight and the weight of the mud around it. The Curt Front Mount Receiver, item # 31352, has a 9,000 Lbs. Max. Line Pull, and lower fascia trimming may be required on some models. The part that may need to be trimmed is the plastic fascia that is attached to the bottom of the chrome bumper on some models. If this plastic piece is not installed on your vehicle you will not have to trim with the Curt receiver. The Draw-Tite Front Receiver, item # 65043, for your 2005 F-150, has a 9,000 Lbs. Max. The only way I'm aware of to mount a winch to your 2003 Ford F350 is to install a front hitch like the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65022. This will allow you to use a hitch mounted winch tray like the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate with Handles part # BDW20011. Then you can mount a winch like the Bulldog # BDW10039.
